A classless society is beyond reach

One lesson in the teachings of a holy man two-thousand years ago truly stuck. Here it is, “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them” (Matthew 7:12). You can call it the “golden rule” or you can call it the overarching philosophy of Christianity, but I call it freedom to pursue happiness, peace and self-esteem.

Let me place this in a modern perspective. I would never tell the Governor of Florida what he can or cannot do in his bedroom, and I certainly don’t want him to restrict my actions or freedom of speech based on his personal dogma, but that’s exactly what he does. As an older, retired person who is financially comfortable, this is more philosophical than a face-to-face fight, but for many poor or disadvantaged people this is the large boot on the neck that Justice Ginsberg talked about, a metaphor for control through laws and proclamation.

Let’s consider this first bit of reality, Roe vs. Wade. You can talk about what is or isn’t moral or what was decided rightly or wrongly, but by eliminating convenient and legal family planning you are pushing poor people of all color back into a box of arrested development. When a woman cares for one or more children, she necessarily must give up other things. If the child is unwanted because of rape, incest or a dominate male who was more interested in sex than support, she will likely enter the unending circle of multiple jobs, lack of money, and in some cases, lack of supervision of those she brought into the world. How can any sane democracy allow their government to dictate such a personal decision? When the laws of the land impose a ceiling on economic and upward mobility, it’s simply war on the poor.

We would rather shovel up the sleeping homeless and dump them in a camp outside of town than confront the problem of how they got there in the first place. It’s totally amazing to me that in the richest country in the world we have many families without food, and what some experts believe is close to half a million homeless people. How can we let this happen and still claim to be a moral nation? The reality that we throw out 80% of the food grown or processed, is unforgiveable.

Now, there is another virus going through the land based on the stupid concept that college is too expensive and not necessary to be successful, but I find it annoying that people put down education. Oh, I get it, some neo-conservative and libertarians claim college educators with tenure are there to groom our precious offspring and lure them into a liberal, bullshit-laden, cancel-culture American cult, but I thought going to college made one smarter.

People with college educations live better and vote differently than those who wander around the capitalistic bullfight ring trying to spear a high-paying job. Sometimes they get “replaced” by more educated and smarter people, then they walk around with a chip on their shoulder labeled “disenfranchised.” College is hard, and the discipline to get to the promised land comes with a judgement of who you are compared with others your age. When you get booted out for goofing off, that’s on you. If you leave early because you have a huge business dream, like Mark Zuckerberg, you might find yourself not driving a plush car when the marketplace rejects your idea. Hey, college is a fantastic way to find out what you might have in the brain of yours.

The real driver here is the cost of education. There is a general resentment that after you did the work you must constantly excel to pay off the debt. Bill Maher, who tells jokes and has stood out in his craft, berates college because of what they have become not what they offer. A person highly gifted in a certain discipline, software coding for example, can go places without an education, but working in an advanced science like nuclear engineering requires a college education.

But let’s get back to the war on the poor. We know that minorities and less advantaged people in America have a harder time qualifying, staying in and graduating from school. Of course, highly valued student athletes don’t need a piece of paper because of their gift, but the number of those lucky ones is so small we shouldn’t even consider their stories. The focus should be placed on the people who spent their whole life training, working and exercising but didn’t make a professional league. They may have enjoyed sixteen exciting Saturdays in their college life, but then… nothing. And the question arises, what are they qualified to do? There aren’t that many professional sports organizations in other countries to take all these former college “stars.”

Conservatives rail against socialism but liberals don’t have an answer, a plan or the will to pass Bernie Sanders’ proposal of free college for everyone. Okay, but Bernie, college is not for everyone. Its very nature limits access to those who qualify, but then, many desks, dormitory rooms and books are held by those so-called “legacies,” the offspring of the parents and grandparents who attended the same school. It’s a hierarchy that defies logic, but those older family members produce large endowments and cash flow and we look the other way when a C-student takes the place of an A-minority with no athletic prowess. And so, the beat goes on.

Attending college will neither lower crime nor produce an idyllic, equal and happy society, but it will make people smarter. Sadly, the lower percentage of college students these days will likely bring us more Marjorie Taylor Greenes. By the way, she attended a university and look what happened. She has a business degree from the University of Georgia, a great school, that produced a total idiot. How did she even graduate?

The poor are being pressed to the sidewalks of America by a new class of bigots, fools and racists. Those who fight against affordable housing are waging war with the poor. Those who want a total ban on abortion are declaring war on women, particularly poor women. And those who put down college education, are myopic misfits. Why the war on science, education and the poor? We quoted Jesus to start this post, and it’s clear that many Republicans in Congress don’t give a shit about poor people; or even obeying the “golden rule.” And I’ll go so far to say they are the money changers. They are changing your money into big houses they give to their children.

Blogger wears his thoughts

The disease of the overly devout

If you study history, you will see a major flaw in law, order and the sense of democracy. It happens when a man or woman in power decides, on their own, that they have an authority derived from and anointed by a supreme power. With the reign of a living person codified by God, who could rightfully, morally or even politically challenge their preeminence?

When early humans couldn’t explain things like eclipses, earthquakes, floods or natural disasters, they created a belief system to keep sanity and order. People knew they had an internal consciousness, you know, those mental thoughts or even voices we all have. Now, it’s only natural to wonder about the origin, the source, of these mental maneuvers. Lacking the knowledge of how the brain works, these humans concocted imaginary, mysterious characters as the source, and that lead to the belief of some force or entity who controlled what was happening.

All Hands on Dick

Perhaps we started out with some beings or forces both divine and natural, like Sun gods, Earth gods, Moon gods or Water gods, and over time these were mashed up into one Supreme God. The conflict between the powers populating Egyptian, Greek and Roman mythologies not only gave the storytellers some drama, but also served as a basis for creating laws, rules, traditions and executions.

To have healthy crops, you might have had to sacrifice a young virgin woman to the god of agriculture. If a lousy growing season followed the sacrifice, the high priests claimed it was because someone must have sinned, or another god destroyed the crops and denied a good harvest for its own nefarious purpose. The people who controlled the narrative had to bend beliefs and rewrite history. If you only have one capital-G God, there is no other god to blame for the failures of the faithful.

But man, always needs conflict and a side to join. If you don’t belong to something, you are probably not worthy of life itself. Just ask Jesus. So, the authors of morals and religions needed to create a fear, a supernatural power that could match God and be the provider of all punishments. And don’t you know, along came capital S Satan and his Greek counterpart capital-D Devil.

The Latin/Greek word diabolos is the origin of the name devil, meaning an accuser or slanderer, but things go much deeper. The word diabolical means an extremely evil or cruel person befitting Hell. So now our supremely evil entity has not only immense power but also a home, HELL. In all religions, myths and folklore, Hell is the afterlife destination of evil souls, where they are subjected to brutal suffering, most often through eternal torture after death. You know, that’s powerful voodoo to slap on a young mind. If they do something bad, they will be tortured, for the rest of time. Little Johnny better eat his carrots.

Before we get lost in word spaghetti, let’s straighten out the reality of faith and religion. How was America created? Well, lots of our ancestors made their way to the New World to escape the ever increasing religious-based nationalism sweeping across Europe.

If you were a German Hutterer belonging to the Hutterites sect, a communal, ethnoreligious branch of Anabaptists with roots to the Radical Reformation of the early 16th century, you were harassed, persecuted and even burned at the stake. Many such folk came to America and are now part of the Amish and Mennonite communities.

Puritans and Quakers also came to America for religious freedom. Both of those groups believed in God and both had a desire to create a society that would purify the Christian religion. That word, “purify” is of special interest in this discussion.

The Puritans and Quakers waged persecution and harassment against the freedom seekers who voyaged to America. These were their weapons against people who didn’t go along with their definition of faith and “purification.” Ask the Salem witches how open minded the New England Puritans were.

I suffer a nasty, sour taste in the back of my mouth whenever I hear a politician and evangelical Christian talk about our “Christian-Judeo” values. I am not sure how the Jews, who don’t recognize Jesus Christ as their savior, were given membership into the club, but the agenda of the people who forced their power at the Supreme Court are the same sect who would have Christianity declared the official religion of the United States of America. Sorry, everyone else, we are in power, we are in control, and we’re being neither coy nor clandestine about it.

Last week, Colorado Republican and United States Representative Lauren Boebert said, “The reason we had so many overreaching regulations in our nation is because the church complied. The church is supposed to direct the government. The government is not supposed to direct the church.” Boebert then amplified her outlier position with, “That is not how our Founding Fathers intended it, and I’m tired of this separation of church and state junk. That’s not in the Constitution. It was in a stinking letter, and it means nothing like what they say it does.” Okay, this pro-gun zealot and fire-breathing bim·bette has no idea what she is talking about, but she keeps getting elected.

Mitch McConnell, the “overreaching” government ruler who shaped the Supreme Court to end women’s rights, is now telling us that if the Republicans get back into power in the House and Senate, they will enact a nationwide ban on abortion and other rights you’ve been taking for granted.

Colorado Witch

The far-right controllers and the overly devout in the country want to make the United States of America a theocracy. They are the deep state you’ve heard about. And it won’t be the God of Moses or the God of Mohammed or The Flying Spaghetti Monster, it will be the God of the protestant flock, with only “acceptable” Catholics. Or maybe we just turn over our democracy to the Pope. There is a cancer on America, an understandable reaction to rapid change, but it’s going to kill democracy.

One of the things we keep hearing since the insurrection is that many of the people arrested and those who enabled them in Congress, are pledging loyalty to a man rather than the Constitution. They claim the “big lie” is true and will destroy America. Yes, that is stupid, but equally disturbing is that many of these people are also devout followers of Christian Nationalism. They see Donald Trump as a tool of Jesus Christ himself. They can throw him away now; they got what they wanted. If you select the people deciding the laws of the land (Supreme Court), you don’t need a big mouth fool to lead you (Donald Trump). They will make America God’s Place, if it fucking kills them.

The Supreme Kabal Has Spoken

For all those people who believe precedent means something in the United States of America, you are wrong. For all those women who think your state government will protect you from a lifetime reminder of incest or a violent rape, you are also wrong.

I will say this once, only once, and you can either puke your guts out or follow my advice. If you are a woman in this country and no longer want to be a second-class citizen, you need to follow the dogma. The religious right has taken control of the Supreme Court and part of the reason is because of the appointment of Amy Vivian Coney Barrett. She is not an unbiased jurist. The only way you will gain control of your body and mind is to VOTE ALL REPUBLICANS OUT OF OFFICE!

Oh, you might complain that I am being political, but just about everything in this country becomes a political matter sooner or later. Most of the Republicans in office are NOT serving their states and citizens. They’re zealots on a crusade to reestablish male dominance over American women.

You can sit there and say this Supreme Court decision doesn’t affect you, but it does. Alito’s majority opinion declares Roe versus Wade divided the country, when in fact the majority of Americans believe the right to an abortion should be maintained. The Supreme Court has divided the country more than any other institution this year, and their latest decision does further damage.

The Supreme Court consists of a deceptive group of “ELITES” who want to impose their rule on you. By striking down Roe versus Wade, the Supreme Court has signed a document that says women in the USA are three-fifths of a citizen. They want you to SHUT UP and make babies. ALITO, THOMAS, CAVANAUGH, BARRETT, and GORSUCH lied under oath to get seated on the Court and they should be IMPEACHED.

As in The Handmaid’s Tale, it’s time for American women to put on red capes and headdresses, YOU NO LONGER OWN YOUR BODY. Let the vomiting begin. John Lennon got it straight in his song Woman is the Nigger of the World.

Some will say people are being overly emotional, but I think it would be interesting to know how many abortions were paid for by the Congressmen who claim to represent women. It’s a sad day, but also a bad day for America. The legal bombshells that will land in the state courts will tie up the judicial system for years.

Blame Mitch McConnell for his devious tricks that stacked the court with justices who would do the bidding of the “moral” Republicans. To be a bit crude, 165 million women in America just got screwed by the ugliest man in the world. I say WE should stack the court. That body needs to have eleven justices and this should happen RIGHT NOW.

When a woman is raped, some of the conservative males in this country say, “She probably asked for it.” If that turns you off, it was meant to. If you don’t understand women’s feelings and realities, you shouldn’t be making laws that restrict their rights. It’s time to push it. Short of another insurrection, the court must change. If you ever wondered why we needed an Equal Rights Amendment, you now know the exact reason.

Why are you surprised?

Vladimir Putin has killed more than two hundred children in Ukraine. According to, Globally 3.9% of all children die before reaching the age of five, which means that an average of 15,000 children die every day. Both statistics are terrible.

Now somewhere in the moral fiber of American history, we decided and then codified into law a woman’s right to govern her body. This includes whether she wants to carry a fetus to term, birth that fetus and then take on the responsibility of raising the child. By the way, that task in not three weekends in May, it’s a lifelong charge.

This brings us to Roe vs. Wade, which was a case decided by the Supreme Court on January 22, 1973. In their ruling, the highest court in the land stated clearly that the Constitution of the United States protects a pregnant woman’s liberty to choose an abortion without excessive government restriction. Late breaking news tells us that an embarrassing leak has exposed the seating court is ready to take away that liberty another court granted almost fifty years ago. While Chief Justice John Roberts stands between a total politicization of the court and the fair and just need for an unbiased court, he can only tell us today how pissed off he is at the release of this rough draft of a decision they plan to spring on America and “there will be a full investigation.”

In my not so humble opinion, give the leaker a raise!!! I’ll bet you a thousand dollars the person who let us know how this court seems more interested in pleasing Clarence Thomas’ wife, while they destroy women’s rights, doesn’t have a penis.

On December 21 last year, the Washington Post ran this headline, “Kavanaugh, who told Senate Roe vs. Wade was ‘settled as precedent,’ signals openness to overturning abortion decision.” That differs remarkably with what he said during his Senate confirmation hearing. There he used the term “stare decisis,” which means a precedent should not be overturned unless there is strong reason. Yes, he lied. Justices Alito and Gorsuch said the same thing, so I guess they’re all liars. Remember folks, they were all under oath when they said those things.

When Amy Vivian Coney Barrett was questioned by Senators in her confirmation hearings and was pressed as to whether her faith would take “precedent” over her view of written law, her little girl voice didn’t reveal a true answer. It would have been so much easier to see through her religious zealotism if her voice was gruff, you know, like Aunt Lydia from The Handmaid’s Tale. Her dogma smells up the place like years-old communion wine.

Clarence Thomas, the oversized church mouse, may not talk much, but if he doesn’t hold the same political and moral ground of his spouse then why is he with her? He’s never been anything but, as the right wingers say, “an angry old Black man,” who believes in his martyrdom more than America. Do you remember Justice Thomas confirmation hearing where he was accused of sexual harassment by Anita Hill? It wasn’t an “electronic lynching,” it was a televised cover-up of his true character. And sadly, Joe Biden was there, and said nothing. Time to do something Joe.

Remember, Justice Neil Gorsuch is the guy who pronounced corporations have the same rights as people, and that Hobby Lobby didn’t have to pay for complete healthcare coverage for their employees. Neil is a pro-life, opinionated faux intellectual who really believes women are lowly humans and should obey what men say. To prove this otherwise would be quite a trick.

Justice Alito

That brings us to Samuel Alito, who is one of six Catholics on the Supreme Court, and he’s going to try to buy his pathway to heaven with the declaration that an egg is life, and a sperm is life, and a fetus is life, therefore this decision of Roe vs. Wade must be struck down. Remarkably, he says the ruling has done nothing but divide this nation. Oh really? Wait until you repeal the law, Sam. Look at the results of surveys and research. Alito has made the question of abortion political and religious. He is willing to ignore the Constitution to please the church, the pope and maybe even God. Did I offend you? Well taking away women’s rights offends me.

I never thought “packing the court” was a reasonable idea, but if Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito won’t or can’t be forced to retire, then start packin’ Joe. Everyone else in America seems to be packing. Term limits, or perhaps a set retirement date could help, but wouldn’t fix how the radical right has taken over the appointments, nominations and behavior of the court. I’m ashamed that we don’t make nominees answer questions during hearings that would clearly disclose their positions. It’s like they take the Fifth on the truth.

The people must rise up and take their country back. OMG, here I go sounding like a January 6th Insurrectionist, but please, it’s not fair or right that a group of nine people get to decide whether a woman can make a private decision or follow the advice of her doctor. And I haven’t even mentioned a pregnancy resulting from RAPE or INCEST!

How could any sitting court of the land decide that a woman who was attacked, raped and terrorized by a man must bring that offspring to term and then raise them for a lifetime? People today are worried about the feelings of little Johnny-white-kid learning about slavery, when their actions are codifying rape and forced parental sex. REALLY?

The Gift of Rape?

While in Indiana, a Senate candidate named Richard Mourdock said that pregnancies resulting from rape were “something that God intended to happen.” Well, he may be named Richard, but his comments truly make him a dick. His belief that God wanted a girl to get raped to receive His “gift” in the form of an unwanted baby should terrify every female voter in the state. Seriously, this man speaks for God? More importantly, there are dozens of male and female Representatives and Senators who hold the same belief, they just haven’t said it out loud.

The end result of all this skullduggery is fewer people will have respect for a Supreme Court, which has already been packed by Bitch McConnell with people whose number one priority was overturning Roe vs. Wade because they personally don’t like it. Alito says it was “decided incorrectly.” Okay, so what guarantees the decisions of this body will be “correct?” Will they come back next year and say that the 19th Amendment was wrongly decided? That’s the one that gives women the right to vote.

I am sure glad I am not Chief Justice John Roberts. If this one decision, one of the most important in last century, is overturned on the whim and personal moral prerogatives of a few conservatives who were specifically placed there to overturn Roe vs. Wade, then they are not only rewriting history but making the United States of America less free. They are spitting on the Constitution. Isn’t that against the law?

This is the story of Sonny Joe McPherson, who grew up dreaming of hot mics, breaking records and putting together a broadcasting career to propel himself into the big time — or at least out of Dayton, Ohio. His journey offers fifty years of adventure mixed with conflict, success, opportunity and some loss. This unfiltered critique is one man’s story but pulls the curtain back on an industry constantly changing, for better or worse. True Radio Confessions: Sex, Drugs & Rock ‘n Roll is, in a sense, an historical fiction, but most of what the Sonny Joe experiences, really happened. Let’s Regulate Women’s Rights!

There is a passage in my 2014 book If God Could Talk where a TV talk show host and his producer are vetting God for an appearance on a cable TV show. The interview became a difficult discussion with God about abortion. After the female producer challenged God about the government attempting to control what a woman does with her own body, God fired back.

“You can’t have things both ways. You cannot say you believe in evolution, but refuse to let nature take its course. You have no idea if that fetus will be your next Messiah or your next serial killer. You use evolution as your science and then use a myopic viewpoint to legislate when life begins. What you cannot comprehend you blame on God or wave your Constitution in the other person’s face.  You want to play God? Go ahead, play God and kill the baby.”

Now one might ask, was God really talking in the book or was the author personifying the deity by scripting his lines. Stop right there. I wrote the lines and God had nothing to do with it. I was trying to make my person-God-character believable. One might want to say that God is definitely pro-life, but is he really?

On July 22nd, the state of Mississippi filed a brief with the Supreme Court defending the state’s ban on abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy and requesting that Roe v. Wade be overturned. Their case was already set to be the Court’s biggest reproductive rights lawsuit, but because they went all in, it definitely demands our attention.

“The national fever on abortion can break only when this Court returns abortion policy to the states,” said Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch. By the way, it’s Ms. Fitch. Lynn is a woman. This might seem like a hail Mary pass but conservative pro-life people have been working on this since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973. Let the fun begin.

A primary goal of the Republican Court-packing has been a not-so-subtle plot to please their most conservative voters who want Roe v. Wade to be overturned. They want to abort the law and flush it down the river. I debated this issue in a 1967 high school class where I was assigned the task of defending anti-abortion laws, and it’s almost unbelievable that the debate continues to this very day.

The 1973 Supreme Court ruling was rather simple. It stipulated that the Constitution of the United States protects a pregnant woman’s liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction. The law didn’t address the rights of the unborn fetus because it was not a fully grown human. So, the debate begins and ends on the determination of when life actually begins and who makes that decision.

Most people don’t realize that Roe is not the name of a person. We have traditionally used names like John Doe or Jane Roe to mask the identity of citizens in highly sensitive matters of law. At the beginning of the case, the Court addressed the legal issues of standing and mootness. They decided the appeal of Jane Roe, whose actual name was Norma McCorvey, was moot because she had already given birth to her child and thus would not be affected by the ruling. The Court also decided she lacked standing to assert the rights of other pregnant women. Finally, the Court understood that they couldn’t restore the rights of a woman in the past but could hear a case about all women in the future and whether the Texas law banning all abortions was constitutional.

Many constitutional law experts believe Roe v. Wade was not decided properly and they focus on this part of the ruling, “We need not resolve the difficult question of when life begins. When those trained in the respective disciplines of medicine, philosophy, and theology are unable to arrive at any consensus, the judiciary, in this point in the development of man’s knowledge, is not in a position to speculate as to the answer.”

Medical science and care 48 years ago was not nearly as advanced as today’s modern technology. Hospitals and doctors are now well equipped to save premature lives every day. In the summer of 2020, Minnesota’s Beth and Rick Hutchinson had what they call their miracle baby boy. Their son Richard was born at 21 weeks, one of the youngest babies to survive such an early arrival.

That being said, we must put the facts on the table. In general, an infant is not considered to be viable until after 24 weeks gestation. The survival rate of an infant born before they are 24 weeks old is less than 50 percent.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently signed new legislation into state law that bans abortion at the onset of a fetal heartbeat, which can occur as early as six weeks into a pregnancy. The Supreme Court refused to determine and decree when life begins, yet the Texas lawmakers, predominately composed of men, have decided a woman cannot have an abortion for any reason after six weeks. Do the Texas legislature’s paygrades allow them to play God? Many women don’t know they are pregnant six or even more weeks after conception.

Overturning Roe v. Wade will hurt poor women, their family planning and their futures. I hate to drop a bomb here, but many American women get abortions not because of rape, possible inherited fetal impairments or health conditions of the mother or baby. They get abortions just because they are not ready for another baby. We will end up with millions of unwanted babies, an overwhelmed adoption system and no safety net for single women.

Unskilled, untrained people will perform unsafe abortions and kill a bunch of women due to a lack of sanitation or expertise. It has happened in the past and will happen again. To make matters even worse, we now have the internet with its preponderance of old wives’ tales and faulty advice ready to hand out abortion routines that will kill or harm fetuses and mothers. Remember when someone suggested people drink bleach to kill Covid-19? Who came up with that idea?

They say we must send our sons and daughters to war to save the life of democracy and our nation. When our kids get killed, we honor them, but we still have some blood on our hands. We let people drive drunk, they kill other people and we put up little crosses and flowers on the sides of our roads. And when we block the funding of family planning organizations and ban the use of federal funds for abortions, we are simply saying that we don’t care about the poor and under-educated women in America.

We will surely hear from abortion opponents with mega certitude that the medical procedure of abortion violates “God’s Word.” It might come as a surprise that neither the Old Testament nor the New Testament mentions abortion — not one word. There are some biblical cruel rules about menstruation, but most modern Christian women dismiss the advice.

Women are different than men but they aren’t any less equal. If the government tells a woman what she can do with her pregnancy, what might be next? Could we see new laws for demanding the castration of rapists? Might the government enforce tubal ligation of women with “too many” children? China does that. Maybe new rules will ban “certain women” from making babies who might become violent criminals? Where does it stop? I cannot believe that the right of millions of women are in the hands of our legal system. Who wrote this script?

We knew that the great divide in America would have a major effect on the presidential election in the year 2020, but something else was lurking that we didn’t anticipate. The world suffered a global pandemic of Covid-19, and everything changed. The lockdown motivated one author to write MASHED POTATOES: Covid, Cancer & Comfort Food. The cover ironically claims the book is a “humorous” recollection of 2020, but one might ask, “Where was the humor?” This is a work of survival to motivate those who desire to get beyond Covid-19, beat cancer and defend our precious Democracy.  The world got Covid, the writer got cancer and we all ate copious amounts of comfort food. It’s time to swallow the truth, survive the madness, take a large spoon and savor some delicious MASHED POTATOES. Get some here.

Trump’s Conspiracy Against Women

I grew up in a home with a very strong and opinuated woman. My mother was not ahead of her time, but she had a certain way of showing me the many ways that women and girls are equal to men and boys. We have arrived in a strange time when TV dramas depicting the stripping of women’s rights just might be more predictive than fantasy. See: The Handmaiden’s Tale.

25 white men in Alabama’s state government have now decided how all the women in the state should manage their bodies. The morality of the Alabama’s ruling class is built on a foundation of stupidity. They don’t understand that more unwanted children in their state will only increase the tax burden on the very people they are attempting to appease with this highly political ploy to reverse Roe vs. Wade. If this sounds a bit racist, I must remind the reader that statistics don’t lie. According to, “The poverty rate for Hispanic or Latino Alabamians is highest, at nearly 34 percent, compared with 31 percent for blacks and 14 percent for whites. Alabama’s median household income of $44,833 is nearly $11,000 less than the national median of $55,775. The difference grows starker when comparing black and white households, however. According to the report, white Alabamians earn $50,402 a year on average, compared with black Alabamians’ average of $29,180.” This study was done by Alabama Possible.

So, here’s my question. Why would the state government want to exacerbate the problem of income inequality, while driving more poor white state residents to depend on more services because of more children than they can afford?

Alabama’s draconian law, if it is ever applied, will force talented medical professionals away from the state. Smart doctors won’t take the chance of something going wrong in their operating room leading to a life sentence in prison. The quality of medical care will decline and medical insurance will skyrocket.

While discussing the Alabama ruling with some firm Trump supporters in another southern state, they voiced their distress because of non-exclusions for rape and incest victims. They said that was going too far. I agreed, and then one of the guys said, “That’s why they should leave this whole matter up to the states.” I raised my voice, “That’s the problem not the solution!” You see, once a snapping turtle latches on to a talking point, the brain’s logic circuitry no longer functions. The only force to stop this terrible law is the Supreme Court. If they reverse Roe Vs. Wade, they will once again MAKE LAW, not interpret it.

Now I have another question. Can a woman sue a rapist for child support in the state of Alabama? If not, then the Governor of Alabama has failed women by signing the bill before having a moral backstop law in place. They’re all confused. If a woman can’t seek any monetary retribution, then she’s been legally downgraded to three-fifths a person. Why does that sound familiar? With statues of limitations and overprotective male judges getting in the way of justice, it’s hard enough for a rape victim to get a conviction against her assailant,. Why are we adding an extra burden on women and awarding fatherhood to rapists? This is counter to every civil liberty women have fought so hard to gain.

And I would be remiss if I didn’t extend to my readers the courtesy of placing blame. Trump went on and on about why evangelicals and right-to-life people should vote for him. He clearly stated that he was going to stack the court with ultra-conservative judges who would overturn Roe vs. Wade. Even moderate Republican women voted for him. He did what he said he would do, even though seven out of ten American women, regardless of their political affiliations, do NOT want Roe vs Wade to be overturned. Of course, this doesn’t matter to Donald Trump. He has never respected women or minorities.

Trump believes that by trampling women’s rights he will be able to get re-elected, not once, but forever. If you think I am joking, you are a fool. We have a problem and there doesn’t seem to be a way to stop this insanity. Trump and Pence want all women to be controlled as they were in the old Testament of the Bible, casting America back to the stone age. If you think this can’t happen, remember that a loud minority of people were able to bring us prohibition for 13 years. How many women will die before more logical minds prevail in the fight of Right to Life vs. Freedom of Choice? Why would we create a medical police state? Why would someone, who no doubt paid for many abortions, be against a procedure that is in common practice and legal? We can only believe that he was taught that his own mother didn’t count. Notice, he never talks about her.

Gold, God, Guns & Goofballs shows how we’ve wasted our GOLD on bad wars and corruption. While GOD is there for many people as a spiritual enrichment and the provider of glowing feelings, the truth is just praying and believing will not change our major arc. We don’t determine who gets a GUN. We aren’t sure if we have paramilitary groups ready to storm the White House or a White Castle. There is no control of weapons. The GOOFBALLS with the power constantly try to manipulate us into spending more money on bombs and tanks and wars. When all of our institutions are infected with neglect and fall in disrepair, we will only have ourselves to blame. This book is not an antidote for the left or right, it’s an accelerant to move the middle off their collective asses to go do something positive for America.
