WUHAN TO WASHINGTON

No Hush Money Can Make It Go Away

There are certain things that money can’t buy. Some people say that money can’t buy you happiness. The Beatles said money can’t buy you love. Ayn Rand said, “Money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as the driver.” On the other hand, Warren Buffet suggests, “Only buy something that you’d be perfectly happy to hold if the market shuts down for ten years.” And that brings us to our present moment.

I totally get Donald Trump. I have worked for many multi-millionaires and a couple of billionaires in my life and they all had two things in common. They loved a great meal and always left the table before the bill came. Trump will do the same thing with America. He will leave office, hopefully sooner rather than later, and hand a giant bill to our children and grandchildren. If you are young, you will be paying for Donald Trump’s mistakes your whole life.

Regular readers of this blog know that I hardly say anything nice about Donald Trump, but here goes. COVID-19 was not caused by our president. Whether you believe his diatribes or not, this pandemic could have started in any country. The common belief that the coronavirus started in Wuhan, China may have cultural overtones, but you cannot blame a whole race of people or one country for this disaster. You cannot impugn Trump, Obama, Bush or any US President for this creepy little germ. In fact, if COVID is Trump’s fault, wouldn’t we just arrest him, put him in jail and throw away the key?

It’s not his fault that we have another plague running around the world and bringing the financial markets to their knees, but what he didn’t do from day one must be analyzed because it’s important to our grandchildren. They shouldn’t be afraid to live. Donald Trump will die well before we figure out a way to end the spread of future viruses. We must have a vaccine to protect us from each future mishap between the animal and human world.

This corona-calamity has brought a new reality. We now have “social distancing” to learn and do. There are signs telling us where to stand in the grocery store. Most people where I live are not following the one-way aisles plan. I guess better signage is needed to fully instill this new abnormal.

The liberal media-types use the term “rage tweeting” to describe what the President of the United States does in his spare time. WHAT? During a global pandemic the president has spare time? He seems to be in a never-ending war with anyone who says he has no idea what he is doing. Why so much rage, Mr. President? Get a shrink.

I am sick of the words, “new normal” and “unprecedented.” First, anything that is new can’t be normal until it’s been around for a while. Donald Trump has brought the word unprecedented to new levels of trending every day. The term means “never done or known before.” We hear the President say, “No one knew this was possible,” as his copout for not knowing about the coming pandemic and his inaction at the beginning of the fight. If he were a boxer, he would have been knocked out cold in March.

More terms are popping into our lexicon, like “herd immunity” and “modeling.” If you ever spent time on a farm you know that when one of the cows gets sick you move that one bovine away from the rest of the herd. Herd immunity doesn’t always work. For a farmer or rancher, if you sacrifice some of the herd while the others get beyond the ailment you are losing money. Full-grown cows can cost between $4,000 to $5,000. Do you remember “Bovine spongiform encephalopathy?” It was better known as “mad cow disease” and farmers had to kill every cow that came down with it. It was highly contagious and destroyed the animals’ central nervous systems. Some believe it was caused by feeding beef to cows. They aren’t cannibals, they are cows. People shouldn’t eat bats and cows should be vegetarian. Got it?

The idea of “modeling” is not new to the scientific community. We use modeling to predict where hurricanes will make land. We use modeling to track where people shop and determine where a new mall should be built. Fashion designers use modeling to sell their designs. Sorry, I just had to write that. Did you laugh? Here’s the important point, though. Modeling is not reality. It’s an estimate or prediction based on all the known data at the time the model is created.

The scientists and doctors of the COVID -19 Task Force once told us that we could have 250,000 deaths. Then they changed their model and predicted we could keep deaths from the coronavirus to below 60,000. Soon that was revised to say the death toll would be larger. Yesterday, the model was recalculated because many states are reopening. Scientists now say that as many as 134,000 Americans will die by June. So, why then should we be taking the risk of opening states right now? I guess the White House thinks opening is worth loss of life. This president thinks the economy will quickly and magically pop big numbers as a result. I’m willing to lay a wager that won’t happen.

People like Putin, Xi, Kim and Trump think they are in charge. They are not. Each one of them will lie to look good. China kept COVID-19 a secret for as long as they could. Putin, in the middle of taking full dictator control of Russia, had to call off his coup d’état because of the coronavirus. Kim Jong-Un probably contracted the virus but kept his discomfort from the world. Trump tried to talk the virus out of coming here. What a pitiful, naïve fool to think his words are that powerful. These boisterous leaders are just mortal men with agendas and misdirection.

Putin, Xi, Kim and Trump view people simply as numbers or statistics. No head of a country can hold the grief of every death in their heart, but it would be better if they attempted to express more empathy during this tragedy with its great loss of life. Numbers are used in science and stock markets, and if you don’t know MATH, you don’t know JACK. Some countries teach math to every child, but because we are in this global pandemic we are now forced to teach adults how math works with respect to percentages of death, percentage of chance of getting the virus and the like.

I surely hope our US State Governors, will keep a body count during their foolish quests to “open the economy.” As former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said on Monday of this week, politicians should all admit, “people will have to die” to open the malls and entertainment. Perhaps he sees this like Sophie’s Choice. You know, older people’s lives for money. Thanks, Chris. You can take your family back to the beach now. Maybe Trump will make you ambassador to Wuhan.

LAYERS OF LIES

Trump’s Eroding Credibility

Donald Trump is on his way to the UK for a NATO Summit, but he will not be able to get away from what is happening back home: Impeachment. Trump suggested that the impeachment hearings starting this week in the House Judiciary Committee were purposely planned to disrupt his trip. His complaints about his delusional ideas fail to make sense because his lies get in the way. He simply cannot get a fact or figure right. Even when a real statistic could help him, he fails to quote the right number. It’s mystifying why he’s running the United States when he obviously couldn’t run a Chick-fil-A a franchise.

Trump’s layers of lies are now becoming talking points for the sycophants in Congress who think that going against the Donald will result in the loss of their jobs. They are being manipulated by polls and political research that just may put them in danger in the long run. The displays of ignorance by Senator Lindsey Graham and Congressman John Kennedy demonstrate that they will lie in public just to save their asses. Both are up for reelection in 2020.

The fact is that Trump will never admit that Russia interfered with our elections for two important reasons. One, saying that Russian operatives were successful at creating negative attitudes about Hillary Clinton and lowering the Democratic turnout in 2016 would make him an illegitimate president. This inferiority shines through in just about everything he says and does. And the second reason Trump ignores the Russian “hoax” but promotes the Ukraine “hoax” is because he wants to please President Putin. But wait, wouldn’t that claim also undermine Trump’s credibility?

From now on when people ask me why I don’t like Donald Trump, I’m going to say, “Because he’s a liar.” That simply isn’t a debatable issue with any reasonably aware person, but the Trumpettes and cult members don’t believe Trump lies. They parrot all his lies without blinking. I don’t need to get all crazy and high verbal with those who can’t connect the dots, but I wonder why they haven’t been bilked out of all their money. Gullible people are usually targets of criminals.

Trump has lied about so many things. When Kurds (our allies) were slaughtered by Turkey because Trump pulled out of Syria, our President retransmitted Turkish talking points to the world. He was played by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and helped Russia with his actions. Turkey will be buying all their armaments from Russia, not the US, and they are a member of NATO. What? The reason Erdoğan wanted the US out of northern Syria was to facilitate a land grab. Trump never saw it coming and his art of the deal failed to help US armament manufacturing companies.

Trump has been played by Putin, several times. Trump believes that Ukraine was the villain in the 2016 election, not Russia. Putin wants Trump to stay in office for another four years so he can lead him into actions that help Russia. Putin loves Donald Trump’s big, fat ass. What happened to America First?

Trump lives in false narratives that are reinforced by Fox News and the constant mind control of people around him. Outside forces can change normal US policy in both domestic and foreign affairs. Fox News was the court of opinion that overturned a Navy Seal’s war crime conviction. The worst part of this is Donald J. Trump has no idea he is being manipulated by people who flatter him with praise. They are the evil doers and, in a way, the “deep state” of Donald’s world.

Look at what happened with Kim Jung-Un. All the dictator had to do was write “nice letters” to our President to get the US to lay back and let North Korea develop weapons of mass destruction. If the result of the Trump Doctrine is only the catch phrase, “As you know, I have a really good relationship with [insert ruthless dictator’s name here],” then what success can Trump claim? Trump is in total denial about how he is viewed by world leaders. Kim wants the sanctions taken away before he will lie to Trump again in another sham negotiation. That is what happens when two liars make a deal.

While our President is representing America at the NATO Summit, we are still without a true statesman in the White House. Trump has never attempted to understand the American people and his approval rating is the same month after month. Less than half of the country thinks he is doing a good job as President. His credibility is on life-support because he has burned so many bridges with his lies and deceit. According to a new CNN poll, 50% of the country would like to pull the plug on the Trump presidency. To be exact, between March and November 2019, the number of those who favor impeachment has moved from 36% to 50%. The claims that the impeachment process is only a bipartisan hoax holds no water. In fact, it’s just another lie.

Trump needs a trade deal with China soon, but President Xi knows he is dealing with a liar. China understands that tariffs are just another cost of business that will cause higher prices for Americans but won’t affect the way they progress in the world. Remember, China sells to the world, not just the US.

China’s manufacturer numbers are up while the US numbers are down. Trump promised that manufacturing would increase and give us 5% increase in the GDP. In fact, we are locked at 2% and will stay there until Trump does something globally positive. His biggest and most destructive viewpoint is that somehow the world’s markets didn’t merge into a large productive monster that helps America rather than hurting us. He has nursed false suppositions on economics into fact, when he’s dead wrong.

In the end, Trump’s layers of lies will be forgotten, but the holy mess left behind after he leaves office will require a lot of repair work. We will spend years fixing our trade relationships and our global political standing. If your whole basis for communication is constructing lies that help only your ego, you’ll never be taken seriously. Trump is a clown, a TV clown with no soul, no mental agility and no real mandate,  and that is horrible for America.

New Book About America

The book that tells it like it is…

Gold, God, Guns & Goofballs shows how we’ve wasted our GOLD on bad wars and corruption. While GOD is there for many people as a spiritual enrichment and the provider of glowing feelings, the truth is just praying and believing will not change our major arc. We don’t determine who gets a GUN. We aren’t sure if we have paramilitary groups ready to storm the White House or a White Castle. There is no control of weapons. The GOOFBALLS with the power constantly try to manipulate us into spending more money on bombs and tanks and wars. When all of our institutions are infected with neglect and fall in disrepair, we will only have ourselves to blame. This book is not an antidote for the left or right, it’s an accelerant to move the middle off their collective asses to go do something positive for America.

OLD WAYS VS. NEW IDEAS

The Real Democratic Challenge

There’s something happening here; what it is, is exactly clear. The President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, is concerned only with personal wins and his appearance of strength and power. Rather than focusing on what is best for the country and providing progress for the planet, he lives in a photo-op world.

Russian President Vladimir Putin kills people who write or say negative things about him. It’s quite likely that 21 journalists have been killed since Putin came to power in March of 2000. Kim Jong-Un’s regime arrested, incarcerated and killed American Otto Warmbier because he allegedly removed a political poster from a wall. North Korea has executed more than a dozen of Kim’s rivals, including his half-brother.

Saudi Arabia has slain more than 500 people in the last three years, and every investigation has linked the country’s Crown Prince to the extrajudicial execution of a Washington Post journalist. The CNN headline stated, “Trump says he is ‘extremely angry’ about Khashoggi murder but defends MBS relationship.” The beat goes on and Trump’s transactional personality will not let him challenge countries on human rights and injustices. He simply doesn’t care.

Taking Trump at his word, it’s clear that he feels more comfortable with dictators than allies. He speaks the language of a mobster and has an affinity for those who solve political problems with murder and oppression. If you think the Donald’s equivocations and nonconfrontation of the evil in the world with his throwaway line of “everybody does it,” then you are complicit. When will the evangelicals, moderate republicans and thinking democrats step up and restate the meaning of morality? Trump has desecrated American values both at home and abroad.

Watching twenty Democrats duke it out on stage at the debates last week made it apparent how the great number of candidates has made the process unwieldy, but something popped into my brain that revealed the true challenge. The Democratic party must cope with OLD WAYS vs. NEW IDEAS and stop the personalities from getting in the way of resolving issues.

Our founders used clear logic when they decided that a member of the House of Representatives had to be 25 years or older and a Senator had to be at least 30 years of age. They carried through with the rule that a President must be an American born person of 35 years of age or older. Of note, they never adopted a retirement restriction as some states have for judges. So, was it the idea of maturity that moved the framers to say age matters?

Let’s state some facts here. If elected to a second term, Donald Trump will be 74 years old. Joe Biden would be 77 years old if elected president and Bernie Sanders would be 78 if he won. On inaugural day 2020, Nancy Pelosi will be 80.

Donald Trump isn’t a bad president because he’s old. He’s simply a bad person and thus a horrible president. He’s a divisive hater and pathological liar. Age will never be an accurate determinant of quality of leadership. We learn this lesson every day.

There is evidence that the old ways of doing business gets things done in Congress. When former Vice President Joe Biden was attempting to express his political agility, he was accused of befriending racists. Biden had a horrible night on the debate stage when Senator Kalama Harris confronted his old record on school busing. The “new ways” are about more than busing and racial equality, but this is the price of politics. The old expression of eating its young doesn’t apply. This is more about the young casting out its old.

Some of the newly elected members of the House and presidential contenders are pushing a left-leaning, progressive agenda. Trump will use this against any Democrat running for President. He will paint them as leftist, socialistic and radical. Being the revisionist trying to bring back the past, Trump risks alienating younger voters who didn’t live through the cold war. The conservatives, evangelicals and power-hungry Republicans want to move the whole country back to the 1950s, while young Americans feel that they are owed something.

How do we progress as a nation? When state laws take away things like women’s reproductive rights, those under 35 years of age will see it as the OLD people dictating to the next generation. This glaring gap between right and left is growing. Moderates are silent for now, but they will have to take a side soon. An election is coming.

In a perverted, mind-blowing way, Republicans hail Trump as a change maker. A person who doesn’t do predictable things and is not a typical politician makes them feel good, even when it hurts them personally. As the farmer who got screwed with tons of soybeans that no one wants to buy because of tariffs, could they move their vote to a moderate, Midwest, positive Democrat?

Democrats would be wise to position Trump as old fashioned and wrong on healthcare, instead of bleating layered, detailed plans that dim the common man. The wealth gap is real, but those who are hurt from an unbalanced economy need reasons why the new ways are better than the old. Currently, the polls would have you believe that most Americans don’t want a second Trump term but many people, no matter what party, aren’t yet sure who will get their vote.

THE WALLS ARE CRUMPLING

The Trump Train in Peril

Donald Trump, the titular head of the Republican party, was not able to maintain the majority in the House after the midterm elections, and now he is feeling the pain of investigations coming out of various committees of the House of Representatives. He may be able to veto laws, but he cannot stop the inquiries into his campaign, his inauguration, his presidency and his personal and business lives.

One could feel sorry for the novice politician, but with daily revelations about who he really is, one can see the puzzle pieces of a man who has far fewer morals than those evangelicals who genuflect at his feet. He has displayed demigod-like attitudes and actions toward the institutions of government as well as law and order. It has been reported that he commanded his underlings to ignore security problems with his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and demanded that the Justice Department sue to block the Time-Warner – AT&T merger. Why would he do these things? Well, we have a gangster in the White House who thinks he is above the law and it’s time that Congress does something about it.

Making up emergencies so that he can manipulate the Federal budget should be against the law. Threatening federal witnesses while offering pardons to people to falsify their testimony before Congress and courts is against the law. Where are the keepers of our democracy? Who will step forward to condemn these activities and block the power grab taking place before our very eyes?

On Monday (3-4-2019), House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler announced a sweeping investigation into President Donald Trump’s campaign, businesses, transition and administration. This probe would lay the groundwork for Democrats if they choose to pursue impeachment proceedings against the President. And Trump could have avoided this whole mess by disclosing his income tax returns. They might help us understand why he pals with dictators and to whom he owes favors and money.

Many Americans are getting tired of Trump catering to his base in language, thoughts and deeds. Many people living here truly want a president who can lead us and do great things for America. Trump is not that guy. By dividing the country from the start, he has only emboldened both sides. The far left is more left and the far right has become so extreme that it seems murder is now permitted without rebuke from this president.

The charade we are witnessing is downgrading America in the eyes of other world democracies, while global dictators borrow Trump’s language for their speeches. Antagonizing the free press, spreading conspiracy theories and denigrating law enforcement may be an attempt to distract our attention from Trump’s dirty deeds.

Putin killed people he didn’t like. Trump looked away. The Saudi Crown Prince killed a reporter. Trump seemed confused about who did it. Kim Jong-Un imprisoned an American college student who died shortly after being returned to his parents. Trump claimed Kim didn’t know anything. Who is this person? A respectable country would have landed sanctions on the countries involved and marched their leaders into the world court.

Trump sees things through the distorted lens of always being rich and always being right. No one challenges him, but things are changing, and Donald J. Trump doesn’t have Fred and Mary Anne to tell him he’s a good boy. They raised a liar, cheat, racist and xenophobe.

Trump is simply a paper Mache president who will be brought down by the flames of the Senate, the House and his own justice department investigations. The ash that remains won’t be worth the pardon that the next fake president will give him. Pence is doomed to nothing, because his only power in Washington is kowtowing to Trump. Those Republicans who are now standing blindly with Trump will slowly be weeded out, and their futures back home will find them looking in from the outside. Trump needs a wall, but not on the southern border. He needs a wall built around himself and his family because the law is coming to get him. And in the end, AMERICA WILL WIN!

LIARS ALWAYS BELIEVE LIARS

Trump Fails to Defend Decency

We learned a lot about President Donald Trump this week, and none of it was good. In the history of American presidents, we may have challenged some of their political intents or lack of awareness on certain issues, but we always believed they upheld America’s best interests. It’s getting harder and harder to believe that Trump sees another liar for what he is. Putin lied; Trump took the bait. Kim Jong-Un lied; Trump came running into his arms.

The 45th President of the United States is what is known in foreign relations circles as a naïve “chicken shit.” In my book, Gold, God, Guns & Goofballs, I bared my feelings about the relationship between Kim and Trump, “We saw what happened to a kid from Cincinnati who was slowly murdered while incarcerated in North Korea. After he came home to die, the head Goofball genuflected at the groin of a despot for a freaking photo op. Have you no decency, Goofball-in-Chief?”

To quote another stable genius, Britney Spears, “Oops, I did it again.” Trump stood on the international stage in Vietnam, imaginary bone spurs and all, and once again said that he believed the word of a deranged tyrannical dictator about the death of someone. If you are keeping score, he believes that Putin wasn’t involved in the attack on our democracy during the 2016 election. He believes the Crown Prince and his royal family had nothing to do with the brutal murder of a Washington Post reporter, Jamal Khashoggi. Shamefully, he also believes the denials of Roy Moore and those who support him. Now, he says that Kim knew nothing about the treatment of Otto Warmbier. What a farce.

The people who would be most affected by Trump’s comments are very disturbed by the siding with Chairman Kim. And it only took 48 hours for the Warmbier family to respond, “We have been respectful during this summit process. Now we must speak out,” Fred and Cindy Warmbier said in a statement. “Kim and his evil regime are responsible for the death of our son Otto. Kim and his evil regime are responsible for unimaginable cruelty and inhumanity. No excuse or lavish praise can change that.”

What Trump has done, slowly but surely, is lower the moral value of America. He doesn’t defend decency; he steps over it. This brings us the Michael Cohen hearing that took place while Trump was in Vietnam. The House of Representatives Committee of Oversight called the convicted ex-lawyer and Trump fixer to testify the same way one might interrogate a spy to learn how to keep the wolfs away next time.

The Republicans on the committee were woefully unprepared to use the evidence that was provided to defend their president. The best confrontations were the product of young fresh faces and minds from the Majority. Michael Cohen has an agenda. The Democrats in Congress also have an agenda. Not all agendas are bad. An agenda is simply a list of items to be discussed at a formal meeting. While that word has been hijacked by zealous persons and hyper-partisans, it’s true meaning persists. Michael Cohen is a liar who the head liar, Donald Trump, employed for almost ten years, most likely because Cohen would lie for him.

There are some experts who think that Trump watching the Cohen testimony so bothered the “leader of the free world” that when North Korea proposed a reason to step forward, Trump childishly rejected the offer and walked. He was rendered stupid by what was happening in Washington.

The goal of the hearing was clear and totally in the purview of the committee. They were exercising their duty to conduct oversight regarding what has been happening in the administration. And what did we learn about Trump? Well, most of it is old news, but often obscured by the multitude of tweets, public statements and known legal documents. The hearing emphasized the reality that Trump is not a trustworthy person. Doh!

We all know he lies, he cheats, he deals and he double-deals. He’s underhanded and will commit crimes to protect his name and money. To put a bow on it, he’s the most unsavory and corrupt President since Richard Nixon. Just why do we let this man continue to be our president?

As more holes were torn in his reputation, it was fitting that he was in Vietnam, a place where 58,220 US soldiers were once killed in its jungles and cities. As Michael Cohen was quoting Trump’s mea culpa on faking a medical deferment to get out of serving his country, Kim Jong-Un was Donald Trump’s master puppeteer, once again.

Kim gets to take the long train ride home to accolades and proclamations in his homeland about the way the little murderer stood up to the blowhard leader of the United States. Trump will come home to face questions about the fantasies of a friendship that was supposed to help him get a Nobel Peace Prize. There will be other questions about what he knew, and when he knew it. Russian investigation is one thing, but the legal beagles in the Southern District of New York are searching a scent. It’s the stench of lies, crimes and felonies. It won’t be long now.

Silly man. Trump doesn’t even realize the whole world is doing more than watching; they are laughing at him. And because he is the President, they are laughing at America too, and that should make us all angry. It’s time for action!

A dangerous self-delusion

Trump peers over cliff, can he fly?

Your favorite President did nothing wrong!” sure sounds a lot like “I am not a crook!” When one engages in high risk marketing only two things can happen, and one is bad. In this case, the implication of the opposite is clear, he did do something wrong and he is covering up a whopper.

We are hearing tapes of the President’s voice instructing his lawyer to pay cash to hush-up a Playboy model. We are hearing him say not to believe what you read or hear. He is not well. He is not truthful and he is tearing down any respect left in the presidency of the United States of America.

The assumptive pronouncement, “Your favorite President…” is only meant to enrage the opposition. The enemy of the people is not the press, it is the people who are not checking the President’s reckless actions and statements. One group blindly follows this lunatic, while the other wants his disruption and instability to end. The resistance will pay for a clear path to normalization with a little bit of Constitutional crisis, if need be. In other words, most of the people in America think something is wrong. More than half believe Trump is doing a bad job, while the other 38% think he is being tried in a kangaroo court.

The self-delusional rhetoric from our Great Orange Leader feeds to the narrative that he is the victim, but the facts speak tons. More than 17 people have left this administration, either on their own or after being fired, with two or three of the appointments coming under fire as we speak. Might I remind everyone that these were people picked by Trump, so he must have made mistakes. Don’t hold your breath waiting for an apology.

After his fruitless photo-op with Kim Jong-Un and disastrous summit with Putin, Trump has proven that he’s an amateur on the world stage. He’s making the same mistakes which he has criticized former presidents of making. He draws his own red lines in his tweets, only to use hyperbole to divert the American public’s attention from these embarrassments. He’s a 250 pound tough guy perched on his toilet while blasting out all caps tweets. But when he gets face to face with world leaders needing a cautious approach, he kisses their asses. He spits in the faces of the allies we depend on to keep the world balanced and protected from dangerous regimes. Doing a Shylock shakedown of the NATO nations is beneath the leader of the free world. That challenge should have been kept in the family. Why give Russia hope? Or is that Trump’s primary role?

Trump’s latest eruption is another attempt to soil the Mueller Russian interference investigation. His acknowledgement of Russian interference was just another photo-op and left-handed compliment, but now he’s back to calling the whole thing a hoax. If you say that you agree with the intelligence community’s findings, but then throw massive shade on the investigation a day later, you are obviously not telling the truth. Trump equates the Mueller – Russian thing as all against him and a trick to delegitimatize his election. He’s not wrong. If Mueller finds anyone from the campaign involved in the Russian operation, Trump might be impeached just for being the benefactor of bad players within this campaign. Will any of the 17 people who left his administration be found involved in the meddling?

Trump today is attempting to move the story away from the delusional view of North Korea with a new attack on Iran. Last night’s tweet, (7-22-2018), shows the new tactic, “To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!”

Congress should pass a law that taxes the use of ALL CAPS on Twitter to pay for the Russian investigation. Trump is a shameful example of who we should not let near the nuclear codes. He’s not a “stable genius.” His actions clearly show that he’s just an over-blown, fat baby president without any knowledge of history or government. As soon as this president gets to the edge of the war cliff, will his supporters believe they all can fly with him or will he fall out of power? History and gravity will destroy this administration and take Trump to the bottom. In the end, poor little Donnie will be all alone with his money, big ties and bad makeup.

SPEED DATING IN SINGAPORE

Trump’s Simplistic View of Diplomacy

What the world just witnessed in Singapore was the devaluation of reality. The bull in the china shop destroyed so much stemware and pottery that the United States will have to take out another loan to pay for it all. If I was a conspiracy theorist, I might suggest that the big summit between Kim Jong-Un and Donald Trump didn’t really happen. But we saw it on TV, so it must have taken place. However, the final product of the event has less backbone than a jellyfish.

The Democrats asked, “Where’s the beef,” While the Trump loyalists were toasting, “Well, Trump did it!” Yes, he took a meeting with the Chairman of a totalitarian nation, who arrests, tortures, kills and enslaves his people, but that never stood in the way of the Donald’s ego. He thinks he will get the Noble Peace Prize for this made-for-TV event, but he failed to get anything of substance from this high-level meeting. It’s pure Trump; lots of talk, lots of words, little substance.

Trump walked away with a two-page letter saying we agree to reaffirm the talks to denuclearize the Korean peninsula. We still don’t know if Kim’s definition of denuclearization matches ours. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the U.S. goal of the meeting with the North Korean despot was to get “Permanent, verifiable, irreversible dismantling” of their nuclear war machine. Mike has now become frustrated with the fair questions concerning that very pronouncement.

When Pompeo, probably suffering from the new orange form of jetlag, was asked about the fact that his words were not in the two-page agreement both leaders signed, he cited the word “complete” and equated it to “permanent, verifiable, irreversible dismantling” of North Korea’s nuclear arsenal. When pressed further, Pompeo barked, “I find that question insulting and ridiculous and, frankly, ludicrous. I just have to be honest with you. It’s a game and one ought not play games with serious matters like this.” Mike, Mike, we appreciate your being “honest” with us but, please, when you negotiate a complex disarmament agreement with another country, you should use precise legal verbiage. Right?

Since Trump returned from his speed-dating session with a dictator in Singapore, he has declared that North Korea is no longer a nuclear threat. This, we guess, is based not on an agreement but on his perception of a five-hour meeting with Kim Jong-Un. Donald Trump destroyed relationships with members of the G-7 with insults and his lack of understanding about how trade works, and then dashed off to the big summit. He doesn’t have a solid grasp of diplomacy, so he wasted his time and millions of dollars on a giant photo-op.

Time will tell whether a pledge to start a dialog will indeed lead to peace, but there is good reason to cast skepticism over what happened in Singapore. By telling Kim that we would suspend all military activities with South Korea, we gave the autocrat a gigantic win, without getting diddley-squat in return. Trump also hinted that we might pull out all our troops from South Korea. Really? Why would we do that?

When confronted about some of the North Korean human rights violations, Trump replied with praise for Kim Jong-Un as a “tough guy,” a “smart guy” and a “great negotiator.” When Bret Baier of Fox News interviewed Trump following the denuclearization summit, our president declined to condemn North Korea’s record.

International bodies have accused Kim of crimes against humanity, including assassinations of political rivals, public executions and the imprisonment of tens of thousands political adversaries. Trump seems numb to real carnage.

The Donald disassociated Kim from those atrocities with, “Hey, when you take over a country, tough country, with tough people, and you take it over from your father, I don’t care who you are, what you are, how much of an advantage you have – if you can do that at 27 years old, that’s one in 10,000 could do that.” I guess their first date went well, judging from Trump’s additional comment, “So he’s a very smart guy, he’s a great negotiator and I think we understand each other.”

Trump believes that everyone is like him and that flattering the other person is all that’s needed. When Trump says something that doesn’t get a response, he assumes he has won. Judging by what we know so far, Trump received a few words on paper, while America appears to have given more than we got. We all hope this is real but, judging by the reaction of Mike Pompeo to a few honest questions about the agreement, maybe the Secretary of State realizes that this is not as it appears.

Trump knows how to pull out of deals, but there is no evidence that he is competent with making pacts, agreements or peace treaties. Without good people like Pompeo, Trump would just be another fat, pompous politician with promises to keep. It’s not bad that he delivers on all his promises, but those promises are terribly destructive. He has made America less great. I am embarrassed by him.

KIM JONG-UN SLIPS INTO CHINA

Stormy Daniels Applies Maximum Pressure

Well look what we have here, a President who is pushing a certain domestic agenda while the rest of the world is wary of our inconsistent leader. There is substantial proof that many of the ideologically driven beliefs of this man are being pushed through the system with even some codified into law. No one in the Republican party is pushing back on his bad ideas.

On the world stage, countries no longer look to America as the main player in foreign policy affairs and détente. They have gotten together on their own despite this president’s desire to take credit for everything that happens.

Last night Donald Trump tweeted, “Received message last night from XI JINPING of China that his meeting with KIM JONG UN went very well and that KIM looks forward to his meeting with me. In the meantime, and unfortunately, maximum sanctions and pressure must be maintained at all cost!” It’s strange to hear him say that it’s “unfortunate” to maintain sanctions, I mean, tough guy, wasn’t that the whole point?

And speaking of tough guys, Stormy Daniels’ attorney, Michael Avenatti, filed a motion last night (3-27-2018) asking the judge in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles to grant him permission to question Trump and depose the president’s lawyer, Michael Cohen. If you remember, Cohen admitted to paying the Stormy hush money out of his home equity account to help his friend Trump.

The porn star’s lawyer claims, “It is firmly established that a sitting president is not afforded special protection from a civil suit regarding conduct before he or she entered office” and went on to cite the landmark 1997 Supreme Court ruling in Clinton v. Jones, which established that a sitting president isn’t immune from civil lawsuits related to activity that occurred before he took office.

The old saying of what goes around comes around is best suited for this predicament. And for those evangelicals reading, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” You have been deceived by this man and you may make the joke of giving him a “mulligan” but you are responsible for the weeds in your garden. And for those people who don’t play golf, a mulligan is an extra stroke allowed after a poor shot, not counted on the scorecard. A do over.

I’ll wager that the discussions which took place in Beijing included a serious question about what they should do about Donald Trump. It’s no longer a question about how to deal with the American agenda. It’s a deliberation of how to handle our crazy, raving President. While Trump believes his unpredictability and harsh tweets have accomplished something in this matter, other world leaders are just waiting for him to leave office so they can get back on solid ground.

China is controlling this diplomatic effort, while Michael Avenatti is piloting an effort to stain this presidency. Lawyers are leaving the Donald and it seems like the Trump’s inner circle is getting smaller. That isn’t necessarily bad for this frothing lunatic. With fewer people around him, there will be fewer people to blame when this all blows up. And it will.

With Avenatti chipping away on Trump’s fornications and Robert Mueller examining the Great Orange Leader’s financial webs and obvious lies, it won’t be long until the whole country knows all the facts behind Trump’s tactics and fear of Russia.

He’s afraid of something, and everyone agrees it’s not a hoax or a witch hunt. Just now, CNN News is reporting that Rick Gates, Paul Manafort’s partner, had contact in September and October of 2016 with, who some believe, are Russian intelligence operatives. Note: Rick Gates pleaded guilty and is working with the Special Counsel’s office. Remember when Trump said that no one from the campaign had any contact with Russians? He lied. Both Manafort and Gates worked for the campaign.

The Mueller investigation is looking into a corrupt manipulator and con man. We all know Trump is immoral and a sexual predator. We will soon learn, in detail, about his fraudulent behavior in business and government. He paid off the porn star and the Playboy bunny, and now he wants to screw anyone who gets in his way. He is a dangerous person.

Last night on the Daily Show, actor and author Sean Penn summed it up nicely when he suggested that “the American government needs to impeach the current president.” And that is a great way to say it. The government represents the people and the people need to count on their own government for course corrections. Without a vote in the Senate, we will have to deal with this dingbat for much too long. The day Donald Trump is removed from office, America will be made great, again.

THE RISK OF KEEPING TRUMP

Our Democracy,World Peace in the Cross-hairs

Many level-headed people warned American voters that electing Donald J. Trump would be a bad deal for American because he was unfit for the office of the presidency. The two important areas of presidential focus are domestic affairs and maintaining America’s protective and powerful role in the world.  Neither of these are happening with this joker in office.

As Barack Obama was leaving the White House, he warned the next guy coming in that North Korea was going to be his biggest problem. Like a batter who just struck out, Obama suggested to his teammate that he should not be fooled by the North Korean pitcher’s curve ball. Trump has ignored all advice from his predecessor and, like the idiot he is, he keeps swinging away, as if every word from Kim Jong-Un is some juicy fast ball he can hit out of the park. On the world’s playing field, Trump has more than three strikes on him yet refuses to get out of the box. The rest of the world shakes its collective head wondering if the madman at the plate will topple the game, or worse, blow up the whole world.

Life on the planet comes down to survival and, while Donald Trump thinks it’s somehow funny or clever to tweet his inner child taunts to the crazy guy in North Korea, he shows vividly the reason we cannot allow the great Orange Leader to remain in power. This was our President’s offering late yesterday after numerous tweets (1-2-2018): “North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the “Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times.” Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!”

And, so it goes; we have two teenagers on Twitter arguing over size. The best response came from the voice of reason, Richard W. Painter, “Two psychologically unfit men crowing about their nukes. This is not a good way to start the New Year.  Congress needs to deal with one of them and the UN Security Council needs to deal with the other.” Painter was the chief White House ethics lawyer in the George W. Bush administration from 2005–2007 and full-disclosure, he is involved in a law suit to have Donald Trump removed from office for violations of the Emoluments Clause.

If I hear one more person tell me that Trump is throwing red meat to his base, I am going to scream at the top of my lungs, “WE DON’T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT HIS FUCKING BASE!!” This is America. This is a country of more than 330 million people who must depend on the President of the United States to, first and foremost, keep us safe. If the Donald’s motivation behind this risky behavior is to score points with the minority of hypnotized, disgruntled citizens who support him, then he should be removed from office. His actions are not in-sync with his duties to faithfullly execute the Constitution.

Other tweets of the day, suggesting that Hillary Clinton’s assistant should be put in jail, ending aid to the Palestinian state, taking Pakistan to the wood shed, declaring that Hispanics will start “falling in love” with Republicans and their President, saying that the Democrats won’t be solving DACA without a wall and trying to pump up the protestors in Iran lead one to believe that Trump must think the job of the President is to produce tweets. Maybe he is being paid by the word and we don’t know it.

This frothing faced fool must have no one to talk to in his inner circle and his primal wiring makes Twitter more important to him than the job itself. He doesn’t reach out to his aides, generals, experts or his cabinet members for facts. He just gets up and tweets away. Trump is an unpopular child seeking power from his taunts and texts without regard for anyone’s feeling or the geo-political ramifications of his writing.

We should all be afraid of this dingbat bastard. His major selling point of being unpredictable has now become a giant, festering boil on the ass of America. You don’t dare sit down or turn away. Maybe that is what he really wants. He wants everyone’s attention, because he wants to be King Donald the First. The truth is, letting Trump be Trump is tantamount to let living people become dead. As someone said on TV recently, his antics might seem funny to some, until something bad happens, like a bomb being dropped. Getting rid of all the rules seems really cool to corporations and industrialists, until something bad happens, like an oil spill. Why do we have a president who puts the whole country at risk? Why does the greatest country in the world want this? I don’t.

Some might say that this next statement is hyperbole, but I think not. Keeping Donald J. Trump as President puts our democracy and world peace in the cross-hairs. We can only hope that there are enough patriots in the House and Senate to “rise up” and erase this mistake before it’s too late. We must take the bat out of Trump’s hands.

WE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT

The Trump Behind the Curtain Has Spoken

Maybe it would be easy to sum up my case against Donald Trump by simply saying that he’s stark raving mad. His recalcitrant actions and disruptive attitudes, sometime based on fanciful conspiracies and fallacies, are surely a disqualifying profile for a democratic leader. For this writer, I am ashamed that my countrymen and women, no matter where they live, decided to elect this putrefied mushroom brain.

Yesterday (11-28-2017), the equally braindead leader of North Korea launched another one of his “toy missiles” into the sky and now claims his death rockets can reach anywhere in the United States. During a press briefing, the President said, “We will take care of it.” After the Donald boasted about his “highly-successful” trip to Asia, where he allegedly got all the leaders on the same page concerning Kim Jong Un, we see nothing has changed, including the ineffectiveness of Trump’s diplomatic prowess.

Our great Orange Leader thinks he can solve any problem, but when he tries to fix things he only creates more problems. I’m not sure why the talking heads on TV want to say Trump’s antics are based on some calculation. In truth, he’s on a reality TV show just doing whatever pops into his mind at the moment. There is no executive producer behind the curtain.

At 2 o’clock in the morning today, Trump retweeted postings of Great Britain’s Jayda Fransen, a hyper religious anti-Muslim propagandist who posts hateful videos of her campaign against Islamists. So, now the President of the United States, by his use of Twitter, had endorsed a racist, xenophobic HATE SITE. Twitter lets Ms. Fransen spread hate. Twitter also allows our President to threaten, what we can only assume, was nuclear violence against a whole country. Twitter’s Terms of Use says it allows some forms of graphic violence. However, Twitter, wiping out a whole country with “fire and fury” is not graphic enough for you? Where is the line? When do you read your own User Agreements?

More importantly, when did America decide that the person in the most powerful seat in the land gets a pass on inappropriate sexual touching, while men in media, entertainment and business get thrown out the door? Why haven’t Trump’s accusers filed written complaints to the Senate for investigation?

The sad reality is that actions taken by business leaders have to do with lawsuits and their cost. Some companies have money piled away for this kind of thing. In their minds, a “possible payout” for wrongful termination is set at $250,000 max. The victims, or plaintiffs in these cases, usually settle for much less, unless they work for Fox News or Houses of Congress. The accompanying non-disclosure agreements in these settlements are standard procedure and should be challenged in the court. A non-disclosure agreement can lead to others being harmed. Why do we, as a nation, tolerate them?

The most important aspect of all these cases is that someone has to go on record. A written complaint must be created. Once that happens, then some action can take place. In Trump’s world, when he was accused of inappropriate behavior, he said he didn’t do it. In his mind, case closed. Or is it?

Roy Moore has been accused by Leigh Corfman, Wendy Miller, Debbie Wesson Gibson, Gloria Thacker Deason, Beverly Young Nelson, Tina Johnson, Becky Gray and Gena Richardson of certain levels of inappropriate or unwanted sexual advances. Roy Moore says they are all lying. Donald Trump tells us we have to listen to Roy Moore. Why? Isn’t the President, by his actions and endorsement of Moore for the Senate, really saying that all of those women are lying? When did the President get to decide who is telling the truth?

Isn’t that what we have said from the beginning in these rants and psychological vomiting sessions? We have been very clear that Donald John Trump is a liar. He lies and incompetently leads from inside his hardened shell of ego-gratification. He’s a dog turd on the sidewalk. We can only wish for a long, hot, harsh summer sun or wind driven torrents of rain to nullify the damage he has created. America will survive this limited man, but those Congress people who kowtow and lick his boots now will be remembered for their spinelessness as they slither back into their lifetime Federal pensions.

Donald Trump has spoken, “We will take care of it.” And now we wait for his next tweet, or his next stupid theory, which can be easily fact checked before being splashed on that sidewalk next to his bodily waste. Can’t strong journalism show the citizenry who is telling the truth?

The threat from North Korea or Tax Reform should have been front and center today. Instead, these are the words coming from the “leader of the free world, “So now that Matt Lauer is gone when will the Fake News practitioners at NBC be terminating the contract of Phil Griffin? And will they terminate low ratings Joe Scarborough based on the “unsolved mystery” that took place in Florida years ago? Investigate! Wow, Matt Lauer was just fired from NBC for “inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.” But when will the top executives at NBC & Comcast be fired for putting out so much Fake News. Check out Andy Lack’s past!” AND WHY SHOULD THIS BE IMPORTANT TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES?

This guy isn’t our president, he’s a gossip columnist for the Daily News. He missed his calling, or did we miss something in the democratic process of electing a president? As Mr. Trump gets older, his behavior will only get worse. Are we really willing to take this crap? Let it rain, God, please make it rain.
