DUMB BASTARDS

Desperate & Dysfunctional President

Many millions of Americans cannot wait for Donald Trump to go away, forever, and I am one of them. This blog was created four years ago and named WhyWait4Years.com as a call to action, not just against Trump and his foolish cult followers but for all our citizens to become more proactive and involved in the political process.

Most people didn’t take Donald Trump seriously, and that is how be became president. They laughed at his bad jokes and school yard putdowns, never believing that he would become the President of the United States and bash our nation with countless terrible, regressive and harmful acts.

Mean Distracted Leader

Over the past 24 hours, we have learned that lawyers working with judges and the “system” say they can’t find the parents of 545 migrant children separated by the Trump administration at the US-Mexico border. How can this be? Kirstjen Nielsen, the former Department of Homeland Security Chief, claimed, “there was no policy to separate families.” Well then, why did she sign a memo approving the separation of minors from their migrant family members? Both she and Jeff Sessions, who approved the order, should be brought before either US courts or the World Court and charged with crimes against children, and Donald Trump should be named as a co-conspirator.

Unsurprisingly, Huffington Post claims they’ve received leaked documents showing that the White House knew of a giant COVID-19 spike as the President falsely claimed the coronavirus “affects virtually nobody.” The Donald believes if he simply says we are over the pandemic, then we are. What a dumb bastard.

Now we also know that some nefarious source is sending threatening emails to US voters. According to Forbes magazine, “The email told voters to cast their ballot for President Donald Trump or ‘we will come after you,’ telling voters that they were in possession of ‘all of their information’ and that ‘I would take this seriously if I were you.’'” And the FBI and National Security people announced last night that RUSSIA and IRAN have stolen all the US voter data and are responsible for this activity. Why didn’t Trump fortify our voter systems? Failed leadership is why. The FBI is now investigating the emails as potential voter intimidation, a federal offense that could bring a prison sentence of up to one year.

The desperate and dysfunctional man who claims to be our president lies openly and often, even when his words infect and maybe even kill people. Let’s not forget that 8,338,467Americans have been infected with COVID-19 and 222,220 have died. By the time you read this those numbers will be even greater, and that is blood on the small hands of Donald Trump.

Top White House Enabler

Then there’s this report from Axios, “White House chief of staff Mark Meadows is leaning on the Pentagon to move ahead with a plan to stand up a 5G wireless network, despite opposition from key government and private-sector players, [which] could well outlive the Trump administration.” In straightforward language, TRUMP is seeking to circumvent the legal bidding process which allows the Department of Defense to lease bandwidth capacity to wireless carriers and other companies for implementing 5G technology.

According to the New York Times, “Rivada Networks, a politically connected firm that counts Peter Thiel, a prominent Trump donor, among its investors, appears to be positioning itself for the lucrative contract to provide the technology for such a system.” Rivada has been pushed by GOP figures including Karl Rove and Newt Gingrich, and Rivada principals other than Thiel have contributed to the Trump reelection effort.

Peter Thiel is a billionaire immigrant from Germany who heads Free Forever, a political-action committee. Among other things, it is committed to supporting political candidates who will fight to secure the border, create restrictionism in immigration policy, fund care for veterans and enact isolationist foreign policy. So, it’s ironically strange that this immigrant has made billions in the US but is now fighting hard to keep others out. If Thiel, who was one of the investors in PayPal, Facebook and other big internet companies, wants to take control of the Pentagon’s 5G frequencies, what is in it for Trump? Do Eric, Don Jr and Ivanka own stock in his company? Don’t we have a right to know these things?

Peter Thiel’s Wikipedia page tells us that, “Thiel supported Donald Trump and became one of the California delegates for Trump’s nomination.” During the Republican convention, he announced that he was “proud to be gay!” He also gave Trump a $1.25 million donation in 2016, while his Thiel Foundation is a big supporter of the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ). That group promotes the right of journalists to report the news freely without fear of reprisal. Are you confused yet? You shouldn’t be.

Peter Thiel gave money to Trump because he’s smart and betting on a payday coming from a corrupt bidding process. If this isn’t pay for play, then I don’t know the meaning of that phrase. The Trump Administration is one huge fucking swamp. And I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that he has been a giant critic of Google, the company the DOJ just sued under the Taft-Hartley Act on monopolies. Is Peter Thiel running the government? Is he the deep state?

If you think it’s okay to take children away from their parents, you know, like Hitler did, then vote for Trump. If you think it’s fine to put our citizens in harm’s way and ignore our public health crisis, then go ahead and reelect Trump. If you think it’s business as usual for Trump to look the other way while Russia and other hackers attempt to distort the minds of Americans, then go vote for that corrupt son-of-bitch Trump. If you support voter intimidation by allowing militia tin soldiers with guns and flags in our polling places, then you deserve Trump. Finally, if you let Donald John Trump use our nation as his own personal piggy bank, then you are the DUMB BASTARDS he referred to during one of his speeches.

Should Trump win another four years and you start to complain about how bad things are, get ready for my response. I will simply say, in a clear and calm tone, FUCK YOU.

THE FAUCI FACTOR

Trump’s White House… from Hell

Imagine that all media decided to cover a young boy who was born with a brain without the bridge of nerve fibers called the corpus callosum. As you probably know, each side of the brain controls the other side of the body, and the separate halves of the brain provide different aspects of emotion and thinking.

A callosal disconnection syndrome manifests itself when information cannot be directly shared between the two hemispheres of the brain. Split-brain patients display unusual behaviors, particularly concerning speech and object recognition. If blindfolded and given a familiar object, a person with disconnected brain sides cannot verbalize what it is because that side of their brain receives no messaging about touch. Maybe that is what is going on with Donald Trump.

This weekend, the Trump administration, much like a mafia family, has decided to trash Dr. Anthony Fauci’s reputation. Why? May I remind our readers that Fauci isn’t some guy they grabbed off the street, he’s a physician and immunologist and has been the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984. He’s also one of the lead members of the Trump Administration’s White House Coronavirus Task Force. Trump must be dreaming about Space Force (I call it Space Farce) because he certainly is ignoring his Task Force. Discrediting Dr. Fauci is a bizarre and stupid stunt to promote Trump’s anti-science cult.

While we are debating the safe reopening or our schools, the President of the United States had his team publish a list of some early statements that Fauci made about the virus that turned out to be incorrect. This organized harassment of a government employee is outrageous, and perhaps a violation of labor law, but as we all know Trump believes he is above the law. Imagine taking everything Trump has said over the last four years and putting them to the test of retroactive 20/20 vision. Well, someone does just that, the Washington Post reports, “In 1,267 days, President Trump has made 20,055 false or misleading claims.”

When the coronavirus first appeared in America and the stock market had its first major dip in response, I asked my accountant, almost with tongue in cheek, “Are we selling or buying today?” He responded that we had nothing to worry about because a friend of his who works at the CDC in Atlanta told him the virus would magically disappear when the weather got warmer. Well, that was not true, but I didn’t hold it against him because the comment was made with the available information he had at the time. Donald’s cherry picking of Fauci’s statements made with early optimism and using them against him makes me feel like our President is trying to blame Fauci for the whole virus mess. In fact, Trump didn’t act on most of what his experts were telling him and he’s been undermining the truth all along.

So far, Trump has blamed the World Health Organization, Obama empty stockpiles (this after more than three years into his own administration), others somewhere in his White House for getting rid of the pandemic team that Obama left in place, China, and now he’s making a ridiculous contention that COVID-19 is a Democratic plot against his reelection as he throws Dr. Fauci under the bus. Okay, but what about all the dead people, Donald Dickhead? THIS JUST IN, in the new John Bolton book, he admits he was the one who merged the chemical-biological warfare threat people withe the pandemic watchers. Bolton claims the team worked well, it was the empty chair behind the resolute desk that was the problem. The White House appears to be Blame Academy.

We are well above 135,000 deaths from the virus and Trump is now running around and blackmailing school districts with threats of defunding them if they don’t open. While people are sick and suffering, our President is screaming about Confederate statues. Maybe we should erect a statue on the north lawn of the White House depicting two young Black men hanging from a tree with a plaque describing the depiction as part of our southern heritage. Let’s see how long that would last. Trump is so on the wrong side of history. Did we elect George Wallace?

George Wallace, Racist

Back to Fauci, let’s stop this painful review of what he’s done or not done and plan how to fix this problem and get our country back. Maybe Donald Trump and his puppet states — Georgia, Florida, Texas and Arizona — should make a list of the things that Trump said and all the steps he didn’t take to create the disaster they are now suffering through. Trump is a total failure with the global pandemic and he knows it. He’s lashing out at Fauci because of encouragement from Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson. WTF?

Here’s a hypothetical. What if Trump was offered a deal with the devil? Beelzebub might present it this way, “Great Orange Leader, I can end the virus right now but Fox News, One America News Network and all other right-wing media outlets would instantly disappear forever.” Trump would not take that deal. He would walk away and then tweet endlessly about how the devil is unfair and has always been a “never Trumper.” Our President doesn’t need the devil. He has access to experts with answers, but his ideological blindfold prevents him from grasping the solution so close to his hands. He cannot see and cannot comprehend. Just open the schools and let kids and teachers die, I guess.

Dr. Anthony Fauci is not the enemy, Donald Trump is. Those around him in the White House say yes, yes, yes and yes while kissing his plump posterior. It’s diabolical that a public official with power over the people would put them in harm’s way. Trump’s preposterous proposition to throw kids, teachers and administrators back in school is nothing short of a giant virus experiment. Maybe the man should pick just one state and open all its schools to test his theory that it wouldn’t be dangerous. Which state would step into that political puddle of mud? Oh, yeah, Georgia, Florida, Texas or Arizona. Wake up, America! Can’t you see that Trump is willing to kill even more of you for his own political gain?

Where is the Task Force? Why aren’t they on TV? Where is Congress? Why aren’t they stepping up and doing something? At least the Judicial Branch is sort of working, but Trump is not listening to anyone. He’s playing a fucked up game in which the losers will die. It’s too late for Donald Trump. We cannot connect both sides of his malignant, festering brain. He needs something harsher than being thrown out of office. How about a trial? If found guilty the punishment would be one day in prison for each of his lies? That would be 55 years, but Mike Pence would just commute that sentence. They both must go, ASAP!

BIG LIES & LITTLE MINDS

We Cannot Trust the Trump Government

Well, we’re almost through another week but that certainly doesn’t make things feel any better. There is no “light of the end of the tunnel” because we still have the same people telling the same lies, cherry picking data and hurting states with Democratic governors. With soaring, positive tests, hospitalizations and death, Trump is now pressuring and pushing to open our schools. I hope we can beat this virus, but the lies are really clogging our brains.

First, let’s take the biggest lie Donald Trump keeps telling. That because he shut down the flights from China, he saved millions and millions of lives. According to the Associated Press, “An analysis of Commerce Department travel entry records and private aviation data shows that nearly 8,000 Chinese nationals and foreign residents of Hong Kong and Macao entered the U.S. on more than 600 commercials and private flights in the first three months after the ban was imposed.” Donald Trump’s myth has no factual backing. He didn’t stop everyone coming from China and it probably hurt us, but he’s the orange knight on the white horse here to save us all.

From the beginning, Trump has downplayed the threat of the coronavirus and spent more time blaming China and its people for the origin and death this curse brought to our shores. What he totally ignored was the virus was equally spreading in Europe and the UK at the same time. He failed to understand the virus is not a product of any one country but a global pandemic. You cannot put a tax or tariff on a virus; it travels where it wants to. Trump’s ridiculous blaming of the World Health Organization and China doesn’t help our fight against the plague.

Trump has no comprehension of how a virus works. He’s too busy pushing medicines that he “heard would be a game changer” rather than listening to the experts. He invented a solution to a problem that could hurt a lot of people. On July 6, 2020, Peter Navarro appeared on CNN, talking about the merits of hydroxychloroquine and why he bought so much of it. He’s a fool. He has no medical expertise and was promoting a Trump plan that can hurt people. Why is he in the government? The obsessive Trump endorsement of an unproven drug was one giant lie.

The next lie that I find most despicable is the shell game Trump plays with the COVID-19 Task Force. I knew we were in trouble when Mike Pence was appointed to head this group. That man can talk for ten minutes, never answering any question and never offering anything but vague cheerleading, preposterous platitudes and misinformation. He must either think people are stupid or he believes all that bullshit that comes out of his mouth, which would mean he’s stupid.

The country wasn’t prepared for a pandemic and no one will admit that our sales of PPE to China early on left our stockpiles dangerously low. They lie about the wearing of masks, which I believe was caused by the rush on toilet paper. Yes, the brain trust in the White House saw so much toilet paper flying off the shelves at stores and they feared a run on masks which would hurt medical workers and hospitals. So, they admitted by omitting that good advice from the beginning that the administration was not ready.

Early in the pandemic, President Trump was asked about testing and he brazenly said, “There is no way we are going to test everybody in the country. Not going to happen.” Had I been in the room, I would have yelled out, “Why not?” If we truly are this great country with all this money, technology and medical expertise, why would we not test everyone and stop this virus as fast as possible? WHY? Because Donald Trump was unable to confirm his belief that the coronavirus was even here in the USA.

In the midst of a global pandemic, American healthcare and safety is being hijacked and put on hold by Donald Trump, whose only priority is getting reelected. Every one of his predictions, pushes and pontifications have been lies that only made matters worse.

I am about to say something here that I am so sad writing. Moving too fast to reopen the country, which was totally Donald John Trump’s idea, has killed people. With all the political misdirection, Trump has convinced the very dull that they don’t need to wear a mask. Why? The answer to this will be obvious in the new Mary Trump book, but it was also pointed by a smart comment on this blog, “I don’t think he cares anymore, period. He knows he has lost the war against the virus, the war to “save” the economy, perhaps even the war to save himself. A spoiled child who can’t have his own way will pick up his marbles and go home — game over. But a spoiled narcissist with no conscience — he blows up the game. No one can play if he can’t. I fear that is the real Donald Trump playbook we are seeing now.” Oh my God, if this is true, how can we get rid of him, NOW!

ODE TO THE DUNCE

A Pandemic Poem of Love

Ode To The Dunce

I woke up this morning and looked at the numbers of the dead,

My eyes got weary, my face grew flush, so sad, blood red.

We want to believe in truth and always go with what’s right,

Too bad we find ourselves being led by a chief without sight.

The dunce in the corner wants to do right, but he’s shrunken,

Into himself and his lies and those fans who seem drunken.

Let’s have another rally and bring them all together to cheer,

Spreading the curse, talking stupid and adding lots of fear.

The orange man filled his head with tons of hydroxychloroquine,

The unprepared dolt believes he can just command a vaccine.

We all know that a dunce hat can protect a wretched comb over,

But he keeps preaching, all this COVID stuff will just blow over.

Deep down inside this dullard doesn’t do anything to help the cause,

Can’t wear a mask, or tell us the truth, just leads us into the virus jaws.

The denials of the dunce, pull us deeper, down into the corona curse,

He wants your money for another four, he’s halfway into your purse.

There is nothing more convincing than a cold, dead body of a friend,

Never trust a damning charlatan with what he cannot comprehend.

There once was a little man who deep down just wanted to be king,

Being pushed by the bigots and angry cowards of the right wing.

He misses the point of what we are going through in this great land,

He thinks he can put out the embers, while his words are a big fan.

What must the dunce do when people all around him test positive?

He makes things up and thinks lying is his God-given prerogative.

The virus dominates our lives, it creeps closer to the dunce in the corner,

He’s so fearful of poisonous leaks but shows no empathy for the mourner.

This gutless whore doesn’t deserve to be President of this wonderful place,

He’s a disgrace to our people, and to the whole damn human race.

We all want to get back to something we can call normal right now,

But the dunce at the top, cannot help us, it’s just not his style.

He’s just another politician with his hand out and his small brain closed,

Trump told us we were on our own, with him in power, we’re certainly hosed.

And when the dunce leaves the corner for good, he’ll go back to playing golf,

We will be free to progress, while he can call his buddies, Vladimir and Adolph.

He can tell his heroes about how great he made America and lie another day,

While we’re left to kneel and ask God to save the world and pray.

May we find solace when this man is cast aside for reason and direction,

Not in a man, but in our values and conclusions after our great confession.

TRUMP WAS THE WRONG GUY. Just a dunce with a silver spoon in his mouth,

And no brains in his cranium. May peace be with you, I’m out!

TORTURE OF DONALD TRUMP

When do we get to tear down his statue?

Torture is the action or practice of inflicting severe pain on someone as a punishment or to force them to do or say something for the pleasure of the person inflicting the pain. Some in Congress permit Trump to bully and torture them because they fear he will scream at them on Twitter and work against their reelection if they push back. The President can inflict pain on any city or state by withholding Federal funds. He can urge his boy, Bill Barr, to go after a state legally with unnecessary lawsuits and decrees. Barr can withhold tax dollars to any police department or state police force. This needs to change.

When it comes to the health and welfare of the citizens of this country, Trump is working behind the scenes to, at best, downplay or, at worst, to sabotage the fight against COVID-19. His administration asked the Supreme Court to strike down Obamacare today, you know, to hurt all the people who signed up after they lost their employer-based healthcare insurance. Trump is claiming Presidential immunity to wearing a mask, alleging he doesn’t have to wear a mask because those around him are tested. His words form an assumption that the only way to stay safe at work would be daily checks of all your co-workers to know their medical status. The lies and misinformation that Trump and his press secretary put out daily could fertilize an acre of tomato plants, if only that bullshit could be bagged.

Donald Trump may say that he wants to reform the police in America, but that is not true, not true at all.  Every time Trump speaks about the police he praises, protects and complements them. Trump is fond of police unions but decries those in labor who have come out against him. Trump thinks he has the privilege of picking winners and putting his knee on the neck of unions, groups, movements or policy makers he doesn’t like. This president does not acknowledge the right of people to peaceably assemble and petition the government for a redress of grievance. His only wish about them is they will go away.

Donald Trump feels he’s invincible and genuinely believes the people who don’t wear masks are FOR HIM and those who do wear masks are AGAINST HIM. What a small uninformed, retarded brain. This paranoia and stupidity beg an answer to one question, “Does Donald John Trump care about anyone other than himself?”

John Bolton is making the rounds pumping up interest in his new book, but his sharp Baltimorean accent isn’t an excuse for his lack of logic and denial that his testimony would not have mattered during the Senate impeachment trial against Trump. We’re getting tired of the routine where Trump hires someone, tells America how great they are, then fires them after a couple of years or less, then hearing the ousted person tell us how bad Trump is as a president. Their self-absorbed personalities and brain functions are void of any real patriotic vision.

I wrote a book three years ago about Donald Trump, and while researching I read many hatchet jobs against the President. I took the common threads and patched together a timeline and story, which provided an excellent picture of who Trump is and how he operates. The boisterous, large, orange buffoon doesn’t read, cannot concentrate on important details and is motivated only by his personal gain. He cares not for you, not for me and not for our country or even his political party. He could care less about Republicans, conservatives or evangelicals. He simply craves hearing the applause and the praise of those who adore him.

As we end another week, there are more than 124,000 Americas dead from the COVID-19 virus and more than 47 million Americans have filed unemployment claims in the last 14 weeks. The states that were pushed to open early by Trump are now suffering huge surges in cases, hospitalizations and, sadly, more death.

In my remaining time on this planet, I will protest any city, state or community that wants to erect a statue of Donald Trump. This man has aligned himself against most Americans who would like to see the symbols of slavery and hate be taken away. I refuse to be tortured by Donald Trump’s stupidity, corruption and disregard of norms. Should some place in the US feel so moved to erect a statue of the Donald, I hope my grandkids will pull it down and destroy it. I have a feeling they will do just that.

Trump’s actions cause people pain. To those non-mask-wearers who ventured out to attend one of his rallies because of the foolish influence of the Donald, I hope you don’t get sick. COVID-19 is painful. If one could prove their severe pain was the result of attending an unsafe Trump event, wouldn’t that make him a torturer? Was pain inflicted as a punishment for being too trustful of Trump or was the President of the United States torturing them to do or say something? Finally, I must ask, does Trump find pleasure while inflicting the pain?

All the rally attendees agreed to indemnify Trump and the Campaign corporation from lawsuits should they get sick. By demanding this agreement, the Campaign and the President showed they were aware of the danger at the rallies, but that doesn’t lessen their moral depravity and disregard. There might be a way to prove you caught a virus from a Trump rally, but don’t expect that man to help you with the costs of being sick. Trump’s track record on healthcare for America can be summed up with his own words, “I take no responsibility. You’re on your own.” He doesn’t care about people. Maybe that is what should be on the base of his statue, Here stands a man who didn’t care about people and almost destroyed America for Putin.

THE UNMASKING OF AMERICA

The Folly of Trumpean Politics

I noticed something in 2002 when SARS hit, and then again in 2009 with the coming of the H1N1 virus. Asians who lived in big cities were wearing face masks. I’ll admit I chuckled then about their worry of catching a bird flu, but now I get it.

Healthcare should be the number one focus the American government. When people cannot work everything else goes to shit. If this global pandemic has taught us anything, it would be that, yes, we are connected and global and our imprudent, populist president cannot change this reality. Always remember that the military is driven by human beings, and a virus that plows through our population will challenge our readiness to defend the country. It’s the commander in chief’s responsibility to protect our nation, but he’s too busy arranging rallies.

Doctor Fauci finally admitted the reason that the Center for Disease Control and the National Institutes of Health didn’t advise mask wearing early on was stoked by fear that healthcare workers would run out of protective gear. He knew US stockpiles lacked a sufficient supply of PPE. This is more than a smoking gun. It’s proof that Donald Trump lied about the pandemic and his advice to not worry was total folly. It’s a coverup that Doctors Deborah Birx and Anthony Fauci helped facilitate.

The old “I told you so” works only when written in a cover-your-ass memo after the fact. More Americans were exposed to COVID-19 because we were not told the truth. It’s a little like the finger pointing that took place after 9-11. The agencies tasked with protecting us were able to demonstrate the lack of sharing, collaboration and communication, but nowhere in that analysis was there thinking about prevention against it happening again. It did, and the coronavirus proves we have a serious lack of leadership at the top and our trillions-dollars of resources are not properly being used to coordinate our government agencies. Trump should never have been the spokesperson of the effort against COVID. He’s just too brainless to understand or handle it.

As happened in the JFK assassination and the 9-11 attacks, ego, turf and political bullshit are in the way and lives are being lost in this pandemic. Unnecessary death never looks good on your resume. Donald John Trump only makes things worse with his off-center viewpoint that it’s all about him. It appears he will continue to fly around the country hosting dangerous rallies, directly exposing his team members and voter base to COVID-19.

If we believed we could be brought to our knees by a virus, wouldn’t we have had sufficient stockpiles of masks to blunt the disease when it came ashore? Trump never thought it would happen to him, but he failed to understand that he’s not America, we are. His disregard of the advice to wear a mask at the start of this insane ride is utter proof he has done more harm than good in our crisis. He’s like the teenager in the backseat urging his drunk buddy to drive faster and faster during their late-night joyride. Then, just when the driver thought it couldn’t get worse, the bully in the backseat screams, “Turn off the headlights!”

Deer in headlights

Trump hates virus testing because it reminds him of how deeply damaging this global pandemic is. The orange, overweight cheerleader wants us all to simply think “happy thoughts” and re-elect him, but the citizens of this country are analyzing, thinking and drawing their own conclusion. Many of those in Trump’s base know he’s lying, but the sycophants cannot seem to articulate the reality. They fear the virus and hope Trump is right. He isn’t.

With two perfect storms collide, we hear repeated use of words such as “unprecedented,” “uncharted” and “unknown.” We are witnessing the despicable result that many predicted would happen if Trump was challenged by situations and events his feeble mind can’t comprehend. He gets an “F” grade for the way he’s handled both the COVID pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. He’s on the wrong side of history and will never be able to dig himself out of this mess with his tired political tricks and mudslinging. He can no longer blame others when blood is dripping off his little fingers. What is his goal? Does he want to inflect everyone who works for him with the coronavirus?

Unfortunately, we will soon see states who pushed their openings too quickly falling back, slowing their openings and, once again, enforcing draconian measures to stop the spread of the virus. MASKS must be worn when going out in public. Wait-people in restaurants must wear masks or they will do more than kill their businesses; they will kill their customers.

All of us want Americans to get back to their jobs, but we must create safe places for our workers and customers. With all the smart people in the US who profoundly understand these things, why are we letting a lard-ass lunatic ruin America? John Bolton is right; Trump is unfit, and a second term will flatten the curve of our economy, further tarnish our world status and damage the health of the people who call the USA home. Again, I ask why is this man president?

WRONG AGAIN, MR. BIG PANTS

Trump’s Dangerous Advice on COVID-19

Why aren’t there higher American authorities on medical issues? There actually are, but they have been pushed aside by the narcissistic dude squatting in the Oval Office. Why do we permit old white Congressional males with large bank accounts to determine how our healthcare works? The President of the United States is not qualified to give advice on viruses and pandemics. Why is he allowed to do that? It’s because the founders of this country never imagined we would have such a brain-dead dolt in the White House.

Defeated & Despondent

Imagine Abraham Lincoln giving one of his three to four-hour speeches and in the middle of the oration saying, “I told my people, cut back on that whole freeing the slaves thing when talking to southerners.” I am sure newspapers would have encouraged northerners to heat the tar and pluck the feathers. During his Tulsa, Oklahoma rally, Donald Trump said, “Testing is a double-edged sword. When you do testing to that extent, you’re going to find more people. You’re going to find more cases. So, I said to my people, ‘Slow the testing down, please.’” Less than 24 hours later, Trump’s minions were on TV saying his words were “tongue in cheek,” or, the typical fallback, “He was joking.”

As Trump makes plans to go to Arizona to address thousands of students in a mega-church, one must ask if he is trying to thin his own herd? Could Donald Trump be so stupid that he believes he’s invincible? We know from videos of the rally in Oklahoma broadcast by every network that lots of out of shape and overweight types entered the arena. They are prime targets for the COVID-19 virus. Why does Donald endanger his fans? Is he lacking logic or simply not caring?

Writing a denouncement like this makes me feel better, but what does it do for America? The day Trump took a stand against face masks marked the day America lost the war with COVID. Let’s make it clear. Donald John Trump, the 45th President of the United States, has surrendered to a global pandemic. He’s out there walking away while waving the white flag. Some wartime president, eh?

As we start the week of June 22, 2020, there are crises being played out in those states that fell prey to the illusion of the pandemic being over. The governors of those states must believe their citizens are somehow biologically different than people who live in New York or New Jersey. Surprise! Surprise! Florida humans are just as vulnerable as all other Americans. How could any reasonable leader believe that the coronavirus wouldn’t become a greater problem after reopening the commerce of their state? Wishful thinking? I guess that is what it was, and now more people are dying.

I will never respect Donald Trump and I will always remember that his polices on the virus and his systemic racism showed such blatant disregard for seniors, people with pre-existing conditions, African Americans, LGBT people and Latinos. Trump, the most powerful person in America, has no clue that he dumped a giant, steaming shit pile on the Constitution. I have taken note of those Republicans in Congress who let this happen. They are not only derelict; they are complicit. They don’t deserve to represent their states.  Vote the bastards out!

No Mask Ivanka?

Trump has overtly mishandled the COVID-19 virus and he will pontificate, blame, dodge, lie or steal to convince people he cares. He doesn’t. He’s the poster child for this tragic time in our history. Let’s take his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, his daughter Ivanka and all the other hypnotized zombies in the White House and throw them in the river. They need to be baptized in the truth and baked in the sun of accountability.

People need to register to vote and get rid of this loaf of lard. A person who spent more than $20 million (according to Forbes magazine) of the taxpayer’s money on doses of hydroxychloroquine, when there was never any proof it would work, owes us all an apology. The Federal Procurement Data System shows well over $3.02 billion has been spent to date on potential vaccines and cures, and most of that money came from the budget of the Health and Human Services (HHS) Department. There must be an investigation into how Trump spent that money and whether he, his family or his cronies got rich on those investments.

Trump is an unscrupulous operator who doesn’t understand that hurting people is immoral. I’m thinking about all the evangelicals arriving at the pearly gates and being asked about their political misdeeds. Will they have good answers? At the very least, they owe God a giant apology for promoting this sick narcissist and deviant despot. But who am I to judge? I didn’t vote for Trump and never ever will!

FROM THE WAR ON SCIENCE TO BLACK LIVES MATTER

The book that tells it like it is…

Gold, God, Guns & Goofballs: If you only read one chapter of this book, try “Take a Knee for America” and think about our never-ending conflicts between minorities and the police. I’m not asking you to take a stand but having a deep and honest conversation about why some people think the way they do would be productive. This is a book for the moment which seeks to start a conservation about peace. And if you are worried about social media, you really should check out the chapter called “Social Media Menace.”

FATHERS, LEADERSHIP & TRUMP

Ultimate Confrontation with Truth is Coming

For the first thirty years of my life, I didn’t think I would ever be a father. I was unmarried and too busy being successful. Then I took a spouse and managed to have four great kids. I have a fantastic relationship with my ex-wife and an ever-present and caring connection with my kids, even though I live far away from them. Part of this has been facilitated by technology and another part by cooperation and understanding of the importance of family. No matter what, it’s always family first.

Typical American Family

The father of any family must exhibit some degree of leadership qualities, regardless of his style or background. Over the years, with “women’s liberation” and progressive feminist viewpoints adopted by mainstream America, the leadership of many families is a cooperative experience. Of course, a single mom must adopt the role of both mother and father. Each year, we celebrate a Mother’s Day and then a Father’s Day. I’m not sure why we need them, but each is a nice gesture and acknowledgement.

This week’s abundance of news has overwhelmed my brain. I guess that’s what we get with Donald John Trump. Thankfully, some of the reports are good for the family of America. The Supreme Court gave the DACA kids a reprieve for now and they also decided that transgender or gay people cannot be discriminated against in the workplace. Yesterday, a judge decided that there was no way to block the new John Bolton book, which has already shipped to merchants. What will happen next? Will the Trump White House ask the Justice Department to arrest John Bolton?

Ultimately, Trump and his minions will have to deal with the ever-enlarging number of people within the government, military and judicial system who are pushing back, pointing out the president’s boldfaced lies and delivering decisions based on law and facts. You know, the truth.

Trump is like the deadbeat father who likes only some of his kids and does everything he can to intimidate, bully and piss off the others. He gives money to the kids he likes, while pushing the wife and his other kids into the shadows. This metaphor is not to say that the Donald is a bad father in real life, but I do believe the man does not feel love unless the spotlight is shining on him.

It’s incomprehensible that the President of the United States would place thousands of his fan base at risk of being infected with an incurable disease. Trump is doing nothing intelligent to keep the COVID-19 virus in check. He’s moving into an immoral denial of reality and creating an ultimate death cult. This evil man has no problem endangering his most loyal voters. If dominating the news was the only thing that mattered, then Trump would be king. In reality, Trump is more than negligent; he’s an appalling miscreant.

Why can’t I respect him? Just as you don’t need to respect a bad father, you don’t have to get down on your knees to worship a president who is unworthy of that office. The people who attended the Tulsa rally wanted to show their support for Trump, but their inarticulate reasons for not fearing the virus are convoluted. One Oklahoma woman said, “Well, I know there is some risk, but I have my health. I’m not worried.” There you have it, folks! She has all her arms and legs now, so why not jump into the alligator-infested pond? By the way, those gators haven’t eaten for a month.

Bloomberg Photo

Here is an important question. Is Trump using the Department of Justice to go after his enemies? The Friday night press-release-termination of Geoffrey Berman, US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, has restoked fears about abuse of power shared by many of us and our government leaders.

Berman issued a statement, “I have not resigned, and have no intention of resigning, my position, to which I was appointed by the Judges of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. I will step down when a presidentially appointed nominee is confirmed by the Senate. Until then, our investigations will move forward without delay or interruption.” In typical “New Yorker tough guy style,” Berman raised his middle finger to the DOJ and to Attorney General William Barr, who is his boss. By Saturday midday, Mr. Berman did finally step down, but the controversy will not end there. Another investigation is needed.

Donald Trump behaves like a mafia boss, taking out the people who are investigating his friends, donors, operatives and made men. The more leaks we have about Trump’s behind the scenes behavior, the more we see truth in John Bolton’s viewpoint that Trump’s actions are not for the country but solely for himself.

We must confront the many lies, liars and losers that have surrounded Trump over the last four years. Our founding fathers focused on the structure, laws and possibilities of our country, not on the dark, negative side of partisanship. Back then, the US was designed for, and delivered freedom to, only a certain class of citizen. If one was not a male, a landowner or white, they had no voice in this new land. Over time, we have changed the rules, the laws and even the Constitution to make this country better for everyone.

Abraham Lincoln would have laughed at Donald Trump saying he’s done all this imaginary stuff for African Americans. Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin would have asked him to leave Philadelphia’s Constitutional Hall in 1776. Trump would have been pushed aside by the 40th President because Ronald Reagan didn’t have time for long, meaningless conversations. Former Presidents Carter, Bush, Clinton and Obama do not take the orange baboon seriously. President George H.W. Bush, before his death, made it clear that Donald Trump was not to be invited to his memorial, which speaks volume about our inane, embarrassing leader.

Every father has an unwritten agreement with the universe to keep his kids and loved ones safe. Donald Trump has asked people to die for him. Dictators do that, but holy men don’t. They say Jesus died for our sins, but God never asked us to give our lives for a political rally. Why would he? His doctrine is love of all people. Trump loves a person only if that person loves him. It’s not America First; it’s Trump First. Sadly, until he is removed from office, it always will be so. What a selfish bastard!

ARDENT PARTISAN NOISE

Trump’s Claptrap Jingoism Jars Common Sense

Why do I feel compelled to state that I love America before writing a harsh evaluation of someone in power? Donald Trump is no more American than anyone else, including a 22-year old DACA Dreamer, and I am no more American than the guy next door. We are all Americans to the same degree.

With all that has happened lately, I feel a tinge of guilt mentioning my ancestors who got to these shores more than 80 years before the Declaration of Independence was written and signed. The time and the way I got to this country has nothing to do with respect to my loyalty to the United States of America. When the ship sailed up the James River and my relatives landed in Virginia, there were no custom agents or forms to fill out. We left Scotland to come to America because we wanted to, and we weren’t forced into the hull of a smelly old ship at gunpoint. Once we got here, all of us were AMERICANS.

Human Beings in a ship

Some former Trump aides and advisors are coming out of their slumbers and decrying the 45th President. The disparaging remarks include words like, “unfit,” “unaware,” “incompetent” and “unhinged.” Of course, anyone who has been paying attention knows that Trump is all those things, and worse.

Maybe people voted for Donald Trump because they believed his lies. Now why would they believe the outrageous things he has said, such as suggesting the injection of bleach would kill the COVID-19 virus? Is it because they trust him? Then why do they trust him?

Most Trump voters get offended when people make fun of their support of Trump. They will continue to trust Trump more than the truth because they are irritated by liberals and some Democrats calling them dumb. The more they are attacked, the more they bond to the Donald’s ardent partisan posts and pontifications. Like the poor soul whose body has sunken halfway into quicksand, the more Donald moves, the deeper he sinks.

I use the term “jingoism” because that is exactly who Trump is. The term means extreme patriotism, with many of its ilk taking the form of aggressive or warlike foreign policy. Many people have observed that Trump supports our traditional enemies (Putin, Xi, Jong-Un, Erdoğan), while pissing off our allies (France, UK, Germany). Trump constantly and consistently wages war with Democrats, NATO, Obama, WHO, Hillary Clinton, the UN and anyone who offers even a slight critique of his policies. If you say something bad about Trump, you are labeled a traitor by the bulky baboon in the Oval Office. Fact: the man weighs 245 pounds.

Trump has convinced even the intelligent governors of certain states to forego the advice of medical experts and reopen their states before they achieved the prescribed downward trends. States have such claptrap policies on the virus because Trump failed to step up and deliver national plans and policies. Having a rally in Oklahoma this weekend might be his diabolic tribute to “Sooners,” but most say it’s too soon. Fatso will lead those states into more death and he really doesn’t give a shit. Nice guy, right?

Slaves to a dogma

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is telling his fellow Texans that even though COVID-19 numbers are going up, “…the state has lots of ICU beds available.” That is tantamount to a social worker in the suicide ward saying, “Don’t worry we have tons of band-aids.” It’s Trump’s fault for flaunting the face mask and telling the world he would not wear one because it would make him LOOK ridiculous. Really? A protective face mask looks bad on a 74-year-old, overweight heterosexual man who wears orange makeup? A mask would cover up the ugliest part of his body, his mouth.

It’s time for all state officials to treat the pandemic seriously and mandate mask wearing. They are all fools being sucked into a political vortex that is killing people for profit. They could prevent unnecessary death by being more consistent and honest, but they won’t because of the pressure from Trump fanatics. Florida has the same problem as Texas. The lack of leadership and common sense is stunning or, as John Bolton would say, “Stunningly uninformed.”

There is light at the end of the tunnel and it’s not having four more years of Donald Trump. While doing some yardwork this week, a question popped into my mind that genuinely saddened me. What country would I move to if Trump were reelected? The worrisome thought cloud quickly blew away and sunlight streamed down on my face. I heard these words coming from deep inside me, “Fuck him, this is my country.” We all must stay and fight for freedom, justice and the America way of life. It’s a worthy battle.

If you read this book, you can see why all this happened to us.

COPS, ROBBERS, RADICALS & REFORM

Trump Chokes Democracy with Buzz Words and Inaction

Yes, we need police protection at times, but we also have solid rights of “due process” and justice. This implies fair treatment through the judicial system, especially with respect to those laws that protect every citizen’s entitlement. One could fill many football fields with documents showing malfeasance and violations of proper police policies throughout US history.

Some will say that a reasonable amount of fear of the police deters violence and crime. That’s a sad commentary and, judging by American crime statistics, that supposed remedy isn’t working. People steal because of the challenge, thrill and reward of taking things that don’t belong to them. People commit violent crimes and destroy property because they are angry or have some deep-seated mental problems. The physiological make up of every person is unique, but why are we having problems with the police, now?

Trump thinks the police will protect him. He believes that all police, because they have what appears to be unchecked power, think like him, and are therefore loyal to his arcane expression of “law and order.” Trump is simply not very aware. There are Democratic, Republican and Independent policemen and policewomen and most know the difference between right and wrong.

The calls to end systemic racism in police departments were slammed by Attorney General William Barr’s denial of the existence of police systemic racism. What most of these tough guy politicians can’t grasp is that the word, “systemic” doesn’t mean all cops are racists. When you focus on the police and the policies they use on the street, it’s clear that people of color receive more deadly force from the cops than white folk. If you think African Americans are more likely to commit crimes, shouldn’t we spend more time trying to figure why instead of filling up our jails and prisons?

Consider these stats from PrisonPolicy.org. Ten years ago, there were 2,306 African Americans per 100,000 citizens incarcerated, while only 450 Caucasian, non-Latino citizens were jailed out of 100,000. There is some evidence that African American sentences have gone down since 2016, but the decreases are not particularly remarkable.

It’s interesting to note that most of those in Federal prisons have been convicted of activities involving illegal substances. Drug addiction and associative crimes are caused by another aspect of society, but we do not prioritize funding and professional solutions for that obstacle. Cops have their hands full, but the solution cannot be kneeling on the necks of people of color. Why is it okay to shoot and kill an unarmed man because he was drunk and asleep at a Wendy’s? They should have focused on getting him off the road and back home. How did we ever get this far? Let me tell you.

The national law enforcement website says there are more than 800,000 sworn law enforcement officers now serving in the United States, which is the highest figure ever. Perhaps we have too many cops. The site also points out that a total of 1,627 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty during the past 10 years, which is an average of one death every 54 hours or 163 per year. Law enforcement is not an easy job. The plain truth is police work is damn dangerous, but we’ve got to get better on both sides of the thin blue line.

12% of those 800,000 US officers are women. The annual salary of an average female officer is $61,850, while the average male officer receives $70,272 per year. This is not systemic racism, but one could argue that it’s systemic discrimination. This brings us to the assumption that if we had more African American police officers, we would have less racism in those agencies. According to Governing.com, the black police officer percentage in Minneapolis is 8.8%, while the African American population of the city is 17.7%. Sadly, those figures do not stop bad things from happening and in the case of George Floyd not all the officers were white, yet Floyd was still murdered.

What is systemic in all US police departments is a codified law called “qualified immunity.” Now here’s a real bag of worms. Qualified immunity is a judicially created doctrine that shields government officials from being held personally liable for constitutional violations, such as the right to be free from excessive police force. So long as officials do not violate any “clearly established” law, a suit requiring the payment of money cannot be brought against them. Just reading this stuff should make your brain explode. You mean to tell me that someone wrote a law shielding a government official or employee from legal action if they violate my constitutional right? Why? What are those “clearly established laws” mentioned above? Where does it say that a group of cops can hold an unarmed person on the ground and kneel on his neck until he dies? The police officers involved have been arrested and charged, but how many times have similar actions been swept under the rug? Qualified immunity should be eliminated.

There is another aspect of police reform that must be reviewed and evaluated. It’s called Consent Decree, and It’s one of the more intrusive forms of court interventions. A consent decree entails a settlement agreement filed in federal court between plaintiffs and the local government agency in charge of the police. Typically, a consent decrees is overseen by a judge, who can legally enforce its provisions. A consent decree is intended to promote police department integrity and prevent conduct that deprives individuals of Constitutional rights, privileges and immunities. The reality is consent decrees have not worked and they should be abolished. Police departments have been hiding behind them for years.

Today (6-16-2020), once again, President Donald Trump used police brutality and the death of African American men and women as a prop in his quest to maintain his image of a “Law & Order President” and get re-elected. While his speech had little to do with order, it does outlaw “chokeholds” unless, as Trump said, “an officer’s life is threatened,” which is an excuse often used in investigations. Why is that exemption there? The executive order also establishes a national database of abusive police personnel. Could a national gun ownership database be far behind? Fat chance!

During his Rose Garden speech, the Donald attempted to promote all the “great things” he’s done for minority communities, but went over the line when he claimed that “school choice,” a legal form of segregation, is the greatest civil rights movement of today. WHAT? The greatest, immediate civil rights challenge is how minorities are being treated by the police. This president is more than tone deaf, he’s a vegetable, a rotten, smelly cabbage patch doll.

Trump spent less time in his speech talking about the hurt, the pain and the racial injustice that has occurred, than he did putting down previous administrations and gushing his love for the police. They don’t need love right now; they need review, reform and forgiveness. They must stop killing people to solve domestic disturbances. The world is watching. We all have video cameras and we will document when police departments deprive our rights and privileges. You are on notice, Mr. President.

Trump’s lack of empathy is notoriously lame and disheartening to anyone who has suffered unfair treatment by the police. People of color, please remember that Donald Trump is not your friend and you need to help us get rid of this superficial bureaucratic bullshit artist. His art is ugly and his mind is unqualified to lead.

If you read this book, you can see why all this happened to us.
