DEFINITION OF A DEMOCRAT

Trump’s Lies & Myths Show His Ignorance

I was going to dress up as a Democrat for Halloween, but I couldn’t figure out what to wear. Was I to put horns on my head, or wear a sixties hippy outfit and carry Molotov cocktails? Perhaps I should dress up in a $800 suit and carry a briefcase full of one hundred-dollar bills to give out to passers-by in a socialist effort to spread the wealth?

When Donald Trump was a private citizen, he was a registered Democrat? Why? Maybe the Donald was just flocking with the shakers in New York City. As we now know, back then Trump gave money to all candidates, regardless of party. According to the book written by his niece, Mary L. Trump, the son learned this from his father, who padded the pockets of the politicians who handled building permits in the city. Why should anyone believe anything Trump says about the Democratic party?

We have a rich history of political parties in this country. Once there were the Federalist Party and the Democratic-Republican Party, also called “Jeffersonian Republican.” Then we moved around some players into the Whig Party that came out of the National Republican Party and the Democratic Party. During the Civil War, from 1854 to the mid-1890s, we had the anti-slavery Republican Party, which adopted many of the economic policies of the Whigs, and we had the Democratic Party, which was pro-slavery. Along the way, we’ve seen attempts at third party candidates, usually bringing disaster to one of the larger party candidates.

It’s funny how the parties morphed over time. The pro-slavery, anti-labor Southern Democrats of the 1900s became pro-labor and much more liberal, while after freeing the slaves Lincoln Republicans became the staunch, conservative “leave everything as it is” party. Those who know history don’t view the Emancipation Declaration as a benevolent gift from Lincoln. They see it as a pure political move to save the Union. Modern time Republicans, like Trump, believe they have an anti-racism heritage to protect, but as soon as Lincoln was assassinated the country did everything it could to keep the Black man “in his place.”

It’s outrageous when Donald Trump says that he’s done more for African Americans than any president since Abraham Lincoln. I am sure Lyndon Johnson’s daughters are deeply offended by this president’s words, but it goes much deeper.

On June 10, 1963, President John F. Kennedy federalized National Guard troops and deployed them to the University of Alabama to force its desegregation. The next day, Governor Wallace yielded to the federal pressure and two African American students, Vivian Malone and James A. Hood, were successfully enrolled. Compare that to Donald Trump tear-gassing Black Lives Matter protesters so he could walk across the street for his photo-op of holding a bible. By the way, JFK was a Democrat.

Some say Democrats are just like the Republicans. Oh yeah, they talk a good game but deep down inside they will bend their own dogma to get up on the other party. Bill Clinton, a Democrat, wasn’t exactly a prince to the Black community. The former president made sure low-level drug users felt the full weight of state power at the same time bankers felt the removal of the shackles that bound them. Clinton simply wanted to play the “law and order” card to get reelected. Think about it. He was caught in an affair with an intern, lied about it, was impeached and still got another four years in office. Wow! It must have been the voter suppression by both parties that kept Clinton in power.

The Democratic party does NOT hate the police. As a matter of fact, many big-city cops are Democrats. Party members are not coming to burn down your suburb. And we all are repulsed by anyone tries to say we have a problem with the military. Just because we did not support the Vietnam War, we do honor our father’s service in WWI or WW2, every day. And those who fought in Afghanistan and Iraq, even if we disagreed, have a place in our hearts.

Yes, Democrats have tons of money. Look at how much Biden has collected from his Democratic donors. Republicans are silly when they claim that all the money is coming from George Soros. It’s true that 90-year-old holocaust survivor donates money to liberal causes, but maybe he knows that tyrants can gain power and turn people against minorities. Most Democrats aren’t braless radicals making bombs in the basement. Clearly that is the action of radical, right wing, nut job militias. They could care less about rich white guys telling them what to do. They are a cult with extraordinarily little financing. The guns they carry are paid for individually. It’s the far right we must watch.

The myth that Democrats are socialists is horse shit, or maybe donkey shit. Democrats feel just as much greed and need to keep money on the D side of the equation as Republicans want for the R group. Trump goes out of his way to paint Nancy Pelosi as a red, communist socialist, but she and her husband Paul Pelosi are worth about $46.5 million in real estate and various blue-chip stock holdings. Compare that to the richest person in Congress, Florida Senate Republican Rick Scott. According to Fox Business news, “Scott is worth an estimated $259 million.” Any claim that the Democrats are going to give away the treasury to out-of-work, single Moms is a bold lie. Democrats are actually, more fiscally responsible.

2016 data show that the net worth of Congressional members can be broken out into classifications of minimum, average and maximum. Based on their average net worth, 48 percent of House and Senate members are worth at least a million dollars. Yes, Mrs. And Mr. Taxpayer, they are rich and getting richer every year. They use information from confidential hearings to guide their investment strategies. This is not totally against the law. Why is that?

I find it richly ironic that Republican presidents tend to claim a Democratic government would somehow spend more money than they would. It’s a total lie. The national debt increased by 186% during the Reagan years, while George W. Bush helped increase that debt by 54%. Now before you get all crazy here, let’s look at the facts. George W. Bush’s “gift” to America totaled $5.9 billion more in debt, while Barack Obama also increased our debt by $8.6 billion.

Now let’s talk about our great bankruptcy-in-chief, Donald Trump. The national debt stood at $19.9 trillion when he took office in January 2017. In October 2020, the national debt reached a new high of $27 trillion, which is up almost 36% in less than four years. That’s an increase of $7 TRILLION! How can we permit this man to operate our country with that type of reckless spending?

Keep in mind that these figures were calculated before the coronavirus stimulus measures. In fact, the greatest debt burden of the country came from the outrageous tax cuts for the rich and large companies and banks. Trump was bribing the rich to like him, and all those fiscal hawks in Congress just looked the other way. Their complicity might help birth a new third party, the New Republicans. Here we go again.

Democrats are not the people Trump tries to imagine. Yes, Democrats generally dislike the 45th President, but they aren’t going to log in Alaska, pollute in Pittsburgh, or get rid of police departments. The need for police will be especially important in a Democrat run government. Those white supremacists, vigilantes and militias will find the men and women in blue defending our property and peace. The coin can flip quickly, and the disruptions and intimidations of automatic weaponry will no longer be tolerated by America. It’s all just a game with Trump, the former Democrat, who changed all his values and beliefs for power. I am sure he prays once every four years.

NEGATIVE PARTISANSHIP

The Real Challenge for America

Getting rid of Donald Trump will not cure the deep-seated resentment in the hearts and minds of Americans. I have often written about my country, and my book Gold, God, Guns & Goofballs lays out my thoughts about weaknesses and solutions for this great nation. Those essays in the book, even though written in ink, will be reevaluated over time because life in this country is mercurial. Each statement must be viewed considering the current space in time.

One of the amazing structural strengths designed by our founders is the balance of powers. With three branches of government, each is supposed to check for any abuse of power by the others. Like a healthy tree, each branch provides the whole with enough power to stand tall, grow and be nourished through the seasons. Political parties were not mandated or endorsed by the Constitution, but it was inevitable they would surface.

Money was at the core of early debates in our country. If you had the pleasure of seeing the brilliant Broadway musical Hamilton, you saw the deep struggle Congress experienced when establishing a federal banking system. From there, we fought over which countries to support or remain neutral. That was the beginning of foreign policy and international standing. We had to be cool back then so that other countries would take us seriously. That’s why we sent our smartest and best people to fill diplomatic posts in England and France. It was important for Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams to be away from native soil to keep us safe from hostile invasions.

As we all know, the communication networks of the 18th and 19th centuries were not that good. On some occasions we fought wars for months after a peace treaty was signed because it took so long to get the word. Because of today’s hyper fast and extreme news blasts we are constantly ingesting data, be it true or false. It’s difficult enough to discern the difference between a joke and a lie, an attempt at sarcasm or a legal policy statement, and Donald John Trump has only confounded clarity. I, for one, would appreciate the next president not using Twitter for any purpose other than sharing good news.

There are ways to effectively release official information, policies and rules to the public. That is the purpose of the press and communications office in the White House. I am tired of the banal “I’ve been hearing that…” statements from this president. Before the President of the United States makes an assertion, they should KNOW THE FACTS by thoroughly vetting the information and its source. We don’t need a commander-in-gossip; we need a real leader.

Why the divide in our country? First, people are different. I oversimplify by using the terms altruistic and selfish. I’m puzzled by rich people like Peter Theil, a co-founder of PayPal and billionaire immigrant, giving millions of dollars to organizations designed to curb and slow immigration. It’s like, “Hey, I got in, let’s close the doors.” I am also a bit befuddled when I hear people talk about the relationship between the poor and the Holy Bible. Seriously, if our religious institutions spent as much time helping the unfortunate or feeding hungry children as they do with draconian birth control measures, we would be much better off. Yes, I am saying a little more altruism in the church would profoundly improve our circumstances. The current Pope gets this. Why aren’t more people listening to him?

The Pope of the Poor

Both Republicans and Democrats say things that show their biases and racist thinking. One of my neighbors talked about a video of a woman being stopped by police. He was going on and on about how the woman reacted and I asked, “Was the woman Black?” He said, “Yes, as usual.” He didn’t realize how racist he was being because he doesn’t even know what the word racism means. It’s not his fault, or is it?

Why do we have such sharp divisions? People like Donald Trump really do see things as Black and White, and I mean that both ways. He views rich people as somehow better than those folks who are down on their luck while bouncing off bankruptcies because he’s been a millionaire since the day he was born. He pledges to keep African Americans and poor whites out of your neighborhood. That’s not a dog whistle. It’s a giant fog horn blast. His words and actions make the divide wider, deeper and more damaging than those of any other president in our recent history.

Political parties arose to help organize people having particular beliefs or ideologies. Parties have platforms, which help voters to understand the broad perspectives of each candidate. When a leader strays from their platform, some voters get confused and then lump all politicians into one big basket. Trump has decided to not have a platform so he can never disappoint, or could it be that is he just too lazy to develop a plan?

As a critic, I state my opinions in clear language. I passionately believe that Justice Brett Kavanaugh should NOT be on the Supreme Court. I feel this way not because he drank too much beer in high school or was accused of attempted rape. It’s because he went after a political candidate during his confirmation hearing. He showed himself to be a true Republican and Conservative with an agenda. Supreme Court justices should not use their position as a political weapon. Bad Brett! The court system must be reformed. Why is it okay to count ballots in Pennsylvania and North Carolina after election day, but not in Wisconsin? There’s an example of bad decisions which should be handled by local jurisdictions, not the Supreme Court. Or maybe, it’s time to codify all the election rules under a federal umbrella.

Congress must be reformed. There is no way that one man like Mitch McConnel should have the power to force a Supreme Court nomination vote desired by a sitting president. We also must figure out how to end the gridlock and wasted time of hearings and procedures. Without this, Congress will never get above its 18% approval rate.

As for the President, we need to reform the pardon laws and the various ways the Chief Executive deals with oversight. The White House should NOT be able to keep a person from testifying to Congress. Those who do not respect the use of a Congressional subpoena should be arrested and jailed until they agree to do so. They have the right to take the Fifth Amendment, what then are they afraid of? I guess they fear being abused or fired by a bad president. Okay, then let’s make a law that the president should NOT be allowed to intimidate a witness. WAIT, we already have the law! Perhaps the law should be modified to include that every time a president blocks a witness, the President should lose their veto power for one round of legislation. That would get their attention.

Republicans pay taxes and have a right to be heard. Democrats believe they are right just as much as Republicans and they should demand truth from our leaders. As I said to my neighbor, we will never agree on “talking points” of the parties, but we can always agree on FACTS. COVID deaths should not form a talking point. They are facts. WAKE UP AMERICA, and go VOTE.

THE DETAILS ARE IN THE DEVIL

Demonic Donald’s Demise is Near

There are times when I feel sorry for Donald Trump. I have sympathy for the man, even though his actions have brought a giant, flaming bag of horse shit to his feet, where he desperately jumps on it again and again, trying to stifle the flames but only making the stinking, fiery mess spread.

A friend of mine had a strange thought. She imagined hearing the Rolling Stones classic song Sympathy for the Devil playing before a Donald Trump rally. Usually, You Can’t Always Get What You Want plays at that time, not the devil song. My friend’s interesting notion motivated me to write this piece.

Mick & Don from CNN

Many have studied Sympathy for the Devil and expressed theories about its meaning. The cleanest, most direct analysis is the song traces the dark side of humanity where we are swallowed up by evil, thereby feeding the darkness the wickedness it craves. Could there be other interpretations? Of course. So, let’s take a trip through the words of the song.

Please allow me to introduce myself
I’m a man of wealth and taste

Donald Trump claims he’s a man of wealth, but the more we learn the more we understand that brag is just another illusion of this con man. I’m sure you’ve seen pictures of his private residences. They show a supreme lack of taste, don’t you think? Even the villain Goldfinger would be ashamed to live in such nouveau riche surroundings.

I’ve been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man’s soul to waste

Many have commented about Trump’s glaring lack of empathy and apparently damaged soul. That is a harsh statement, but the line about stealing many a man’s soul can easily be applied to those Republican enablers and sycophants who have walked away from their oath of office by lying to and misleading the American people. Donald Trump has stolen their souls.

And I was ’round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate

We all know that Trump has a “god complex,” which has been enlarged by his severe narcissistic personality disorder. These lyrics, however, suggest that he’s the one who carries a lot of pain and doubt. When all of his wrongdoings come to the surface of the swamp, he will simply wash his hands and walk away.

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

This devil guy really needs us to know who he is and, yes, we are all puzzled by his game. Us smart voters know that his “game” is not going to make or maintain this country’s greatness.

I stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain

The coincidence here is that Trump did make a trip to Moscow in 1987 and visited Leningrad and St. Petersburg. He was there to propose Trump hotels in Russia. He saw the changes taking place in the former Soviet Union and thought he could exploit them for his personal gain.

I rode a tank
Held a general’s rank

Trump always adores generals, until they turn against him.

And let’s not forget that he wanted a parade with tanks.

I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made

Trump makes fun of other countries, except those led by dictators and tyrants. He laughs at the wars of history but has no comprehension of why they took place.

I shouted out
Who killed the Kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me

It seemed demonic when Trump approved a National Enquirer story which claimed that Ted Cruz’s father was involved in the assassination of President Kennedy. Of course, we all know it was you and me who killed the Kennedys, not Donald Trump.

Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
‘Cause I’m in need of some restraint

Donald John Trump knows that not every cop is a good cop. He has accused the men and women of the FBI of being “bad cops.” He wants to decide who wins and who loses, who is good and who is bad. He flips coins in disregard of all the rules and regulations he doesn’t like. He is Lucifer, and we MUST RESTRAIN HIM NOW!

So, if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I’ll lay your soul to waste, mm yeah

Trump demands that people be courteous to him, even those he has ruthlessly demeaned. He urges us to have taste, yet he is the most tasteless president of modern times. He asks that we treat him with polite protocol, but if we don’t he will lay our souls to waste.

Okay, I lied earlier. Truth is, I have no sympathy for Donald Trump. I hope he gets exactly what he deserves. Unless he is waterboarded, he will never admit he is or was wrong, but we can hope the judicial system he has so maligned will give this devil his due.

There are 124 “Woo-Woo’s” in Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones. After November 3rd we will hopefully all be singing “Woo-Woo!”

THE ELECTION IS OVER

Trump vs. Biden has already been decided

I’m not predicting who will win, I’m just stating my belief that every voter has their mind made up and they have either already voted for their guy or they will cast their vote for the man they admire next Tuesday. Nothing has been said, done or reported that will change any minds. We have become a stubborn divided nation with our ears and eyes comfortably closed. Should there be a few “undecided voters” out there, they won’t make a difference. They might end up not voting or just casting their vote for the first name on the ballot. By the way, why is Trump’s name listed before Biden’s in the Florida ballot? Shouldn’t it be alphabetical?

Trump is not a good person but that doesn’t mean he can’t run for president. In our free country, however, we must start paying more attention to the bad guys. I am appalled at the Supreme Court’s decision about counting ballots in Wisconsin. Why are they involved? It’s each state’s responsibility to determine their voting rules. It’s what Justice Kavanagh was trying to say, sort of. This lead story from Politico.com tells the story, “As a divided Supreme Court on Monday resolved a fight over absentee voting rules in Wisconsin, the justices exchanged warnings about a troublesome scenario: the possibility that next week’s presidential election leads to days or even weeks of legal maneuvering and uncertainty about the winner. Justice Brett Kavanaugh conjured up the specter of such a protracted battle as he argued in favor of allowing states to maintain firm deadlines requiring absentee ballots to be received by election officials on Election Day.”

Voters Line Up In Georgia

The six blind mice on the court failed to consider the lags and delays of the USPS and the fact that we are in the middle of a freaking pandemic. WTF? They say they would like to stay out of politics, but they don’t. They are a political force more than they admit. They should not have taken Gore vs. Bush in 2000, and it’s not their place to be making decisions about how a state counts its votes. They should be constrained, but this country has no means to challenge their interference in the voting process. It’s not their fault that people and organizations sue for relief, but if they simply refused to hear such cases local courts could determine how things should go; but nooooooo the Supreme Court busts in.

What happens to all those ballots postmarked days or even weeks before the election that arrive at their processing locations on NOVEMBER 4th or later? Are they burned? Are they designated to be analyzed by lawyers and poll watchers? Can they be resurrected from their purgatory? If Trump loses in those states his lawyers will want those ballots counted. Should the tally go in Trump’s favor will the Supreme Court then rule that the ballots are valid? If that happens, I am going on a one-band campaign to impeach some justices.

We all want to have faith in the highest court, but they ping-pong between good judgement and neglect. But wait, this just in. According to USA Today, “A federal judge Tuesday blocked the Justice Department’s effort to intervene in a defamation case against President Donald Trump brought by E. Jean Carroll who claimed the president disparaged her when he denied her claim that Trump raped her in the mid-1990s. U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan rejected the government’s central argument that Trump was acting in his official duties as president last year when he denied magazine writer Carroll’s allegation that he had raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in New York City.” So, the courts are saying that the President of the United States is not above the law and he or she cannot use the Justice Department as a personal law firm.

If this case were to proceed to the Supreme Court, the last three justices placed on the bench would probably be the loudest voices against this obviously corrupt use of the Executive Branch’s law enforcement department. The bigger argument is why Donald John Trump thinks he can use taxpayer funded lawyers to defend himself from the charge of defaming individual citizens. Trump’s goofball attorneys engage in poorly researched and dumbfoundedly frivolous lawsuits just to please their client. In the state of California, and many other states, a private nuisance is grounds for action by the injured party. A plaintiff can file a lawsuit against the individual or group responsible for the nuisance to seek an injunction prohibiting the defendant from continuing the nuisance activity. In such a case, the defendant can be ordered to pay the expenses of the plaintiff. Ms. Carroll will certainly do that.

This election is an opportunity to return some normalcy to not only this great nation but also to the courts. Our legal system should be respected, and the courts should not be cited as anti-American in the tweets of a deranged, egomaniacal lunatic in the Oval Office. Trump has been walking out of interviews for years and has been a nuisance to anyone who disagrees with him. I have never seen a person take spiteful legal action against so many people. I hope the courts can see that Trump is not their friend, and that his bragging about appointing certain kinds of judges works against the need for an unbiased and equal court system.

Amy Coney Barrett Hired

It’s not Amy Coney Barrett’s fault that she is been slain by Democrats. It’s Trump’s fault for making such a big deal about her. If she strays too far from “normal contemporary” values in her judgements, there is a remedy. It’s called IMPEACHMENT, and it might be time to use high crimes and misdemeanors as a definition of how certain judgements hurt people. Why would it not be a high crime to take healthcare insurance away from people with pre-existing conditions? Why should citizens with such healthcare protection get a death sentence from the Supreme Court?

Trump has already been elected or rejected by the people. Should the Electoral College not follow the popular vote, the next decision at the feet of the Supreme Court will be the American system of electorates.  We don’t need that right now.

I voted. Did you? If you can, please do so. Every vote counts.

THE BIGGEST LIE OF ALL

The Power Hasn’t Gone to Trump’s Head

We live in a rich and productive country, yet the United States now finds itself in a quagmire of misinformation, distrust and divide. During the 60 Minutes interview with Donald Trump, Lesley Stahl asked if he was responsible for dividing the nation. The Donald said, “I’d like not to, but perhaps everybody has to take a little responsibility for it.” Really?

His answer was perhaps the most revealing aspect of the interview he eventually cut short. He castigated Ms. Stahl for what he perceived as a setup because, before the “official” interview had begun, she asked if he was ready for some tough questions. Trump used the release of the sit down’s raw footage, showing the off-camera chit-chat between interviewer and subject to support his claim that the pre-interview question showed bias. What? That made him look childish and dumb.

Trump on 60 Minutes

This man’s disconnect between facts and reason once befuddled me, but my confusion was totally cleared up by reading the book, Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man by Donald’s niece, Mary L. Trump. From the accounts of inside sources and their personal experiences, we’ve learned that Trump has a colossal lack of attention span. The joke and analysis during his COVID hospital recovery could have been, this man has ADD – on STEROIDS!

Smart women always throw Trump off his game. There are so many examples about his poor reaction when challenged by a woman. From his attack of Megyn Kelly in the early debates to his condemnation of the Governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer, we can all see how he strong-arms women. He reaches for that defense when anyone, man or woman, disagrees with him or points out an obvious weakness such as his low IQ. Does he really think he is smarter than most people?

In the beginning, people like Anthony Scaramucci laughed at Trump’s inept jokes but ignored his disconnect with reality because they felt he was trying to do the right thing, at least for Wall Street. The Mooch initially blamed the people around Trump, like Steve Bannon and Reince Priebus, but in the end, Anthony learned they were merely enablers of a misguided egomaniac. Many say he was, well, different before he became president. The power has gone to his head and exposes his real mental limits daily.

Some have come to their senses, like retired General John Kelly, who recently said, “President Trump is the most flawed person I’ve ever known.” He’s right, and his perception is bolstered by Mary L. Trump’s tracing of the unhinged and unreasonable pathological nature of the most powerful man in America. The Lesley Stahl 60 Minutes interview is just the latest piece of evidence that amplifies how Trump’s mind doesn’t work properly.

When watching the interview, one can see his fragile ego and mental maladies fighting themselves in conflict. Look at this exchange. Lesley Stahl, “All right. So, you said in the briefing room, ‘Nobody likes me. It can only be my personality.’” Donald Trump, “I said that jokingly, that is sarcastic. Nobody likes me, it must be my personality. I say it all the time. Nobody likes me, it must be my personality. I say it all the time, Lesley.” This exchange occurred during a portion of the interview when Stahl asked Trump if his tweets turned people off. The negativity of his tweets has been a sore spot with Donald, and we saw Lesley expertly pricking that pressure point during the interview.

Stahl then hit paydirt with this. Lesley Stahl, “You promised that there was going to be a new health package, healthcare plan.” Donald Trump, “Yeah.” Lesley Stahl, “You said that it was going to be great. You said that it’s ready.” Donald Trump, “It will be.” Lesley Stahl then landed a solid right hook, “It’s going to be ready, it’s all ready. It’ll be here in two weeks. It’s going to be like nothing you’ve ever seen before. So why didn’t you develop the health plan?” After a bit of contentious back-and-forth, Trump abruptly left the interview.

Then, an amazing attempt at trickery unfolded. Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany delivered a heavy binder of papers to Lesley Stahl, as if it contained that plan Trump keeps talking about. The papers contained executive orders and congressional initiatives, but no comprehensive health plan. So, where is this plan he keeps talking about? Why didn’t an administration that worked day and night to get rid of the Affordable Care Act craft a viable alternative? They couldn’t develop a plan during the three-plus years of this administration? Everyone but Trump knows he’s lying about the existence of a plan.

Let’s parse the dialog that triggered Trump’s terse exit from the interview. Lesley Stahl, “You’ve all but said that Attorney General Barr should go after President Obama. If you lose, you will be here, okay? If you lose. How would you feel if then President Biden went after you?” As Mary L. Trump pointed out in her book, this question hit Trump right where he lives, in paranoia and fear. His answer? Oh, he probably will because I think he’s a very dishonest guy and he probably will look for something. Probably will. We’ll see. But you know what? Attorney General Barr has been very nice. That’s all I can tell you. He’s been very nice. He’s been very respectful.” One could almost feel his intense panic kick in.

Despite his little mind, Donald Trump has grasped the reality that once a new President gets in William Barr and all the Trump protectors and enablers will be gone. He will be on his own to defend himself in the press, in the courts and maybe even in the prison shower stall. His fear erupted in that moment and made him run away from Lesley Stahl. He’s not only afraid of strong, smart women, he’s fearful of the truth.

Despite the overblown power that lives in Trump’s head, he holds a deep-seated fear that the whole world will finally realize he’s a total fraud. He’s not a real president, but rather a fake news, cardboard cutout who used an inane TV show to propel him to a fantasy job he cannot handle. Donald John Trump has done a terrible job, and his psychological flaws will only get worse. He shouldn’t be allowed to hold a gun, much less America’s nuclear arsenal. Next!

FOLLOW THE MONEY

Sickening Stench at the Trump Campaign

There is nothing normal about the way Donald Trump and his organizations handle money. It’s like a game within a game, a sleight of hand by the protagonists trying to leave the party with not only the door prize but all the silverware. I am astonished by the way the President’s reelection campaign handles their money. Where is it all going?

According to ABC News, “President Donald Trump’s reelection team kicked off 2020 with what seemed like an unbeatable cash advantage, boasting a massive fundraising operation, bolstered by the joint efforts of the Republican Party. Fast-forward 10 months and they’ve burned through a whopping $1.4 billion of the more than $1.6 billion raised over the last two years.” Okay, how and where did they spend it?

NPR tells us that Biden raised $130 million in the first half of October while the Trump team brought in only $43 million. The Biden coffers currently hold $162 million in ready cash, according to the NPR report.  My jaw dropped when I read this story, “In a closed door meeting with donors in Nashville last week, Trump told GOP donors it will be ‘very tough’ for Republicans to keep its Senate majority because ’there are a couple of senators‘ that he can’t support.’” What is this man doing? If I was a donor at the meeting, I would have been on the phone with my banker requesting a stop-payment on all my checks to the Republican National Committee.

Politicians in tough battles, even Trump’s golfing buddy Lindsey Graham, will not get financial support from the RNC in South Carolina. The Donald doesn’t care about him or anyone else. He will use all the money for himself. Maybe Trump thinks he gets to keep all the left-over money if he loses. Where is the IRS when we need them?

We are almost one week away from the election and there is a sense of quiet before the storm. With Trump running around the country on taxpayer purchased jet fuel, it’s a wonder how the General Accounting Office will get funds from the campaign to reimburse the people for its expenses. We will probably never hear any details about that.

According to ABC News, “The vast majority of the money spent [by Trump] during that time — nearly $45 million — went to television and online advertising, according to the latest disclosure report filed to the Federal Election Commission, as Biden and pro-Biden efforts ramped up his ad spending.” But some of the Trump – Pence campaign expenditures have raised eyebrows, including hundreds of millions that have gone to alleged ‘pass-through’ vendors that have been accused of masking the ultimate recipient of the money. A portion of those expenditures have been the subject of a Federal Election Commission complaint.

A detailed report by Business Insider describes an internal audit the campaign is conducting of “spending irregularities” during Brad Parscale’s time helming the president’s reelection efforts. The new campaign manager, Bill Stepien, denied that Parscale was being audited, but other sources contradicted that. Unless this is a concerted effort to hurt Mr. Parscale by the Trump people, it’s most likely their denials will remain suspicious, at best.

The New York Times reported that a noticeable percentage of Trump campaign Facebook ads were not launched from Trump’s official pages, but from one of Parscale’s firm — building an online following for Parscale, not the president. They put the figure at $325,000. The Times also reported that the person who replaced Brad Parscale, Bill Stepien, has been running a consulting firm that’s been paid $653,000 by down-ballot candidates, even as he’s been helping to run the Trump campaign. If true, it’s a clear conflict of interest or perhaps a cover for Trump to avoid Federal Election Commission rules.

The ABC News investigation has learned that over the last two years more than $5 million of campaign cash has gone to Trump’s various hotels, resorts and other interests. In the last four months, Trump Victory, which raises money from some of Trump’s most generous donors, spent nearly $900,000 for facility rental and catering at Trump-branded properties. When Trump is gone, the Emoluments Clause must be clarified and enforced.

Trump seems to be buying loyalty left and right. RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel nets $372,000, or $30.000 a month, while the campaign’s communications director, Tim Murtaugh, makes $20,000 a month. The Biden people are making much less.

Back to the grand totals for this campaign season, Biden has raised $952.2 million while Trump has brought in $612.7 million. There is a reason why Trump’s donors are getting nervous. It’s because they, like millions of other Americans, have lost faith in Trump’s attitude and policies surrounding the COVID-19 global pandemic. They know we will never have a total economic recovery without defeating the virus.

Two companies set up and run by Trump’s campaign leadership, including Parscale, appeared to provide a variety of services to the campaign but really served as “clearing houses” to dole out deals and payments to subcontractors and vendors without revealing the ultimate recipients of the donor money. The Campaign Legal Center wrote in a complaint that the lack of disclosure of the campaign’s payments to subcontractors is a violation of the Federal rule that requires campaigns to itemize disbursements to its ultimate vendors. This must be audited after the election.

Now all this would be a rather mischievous exercise on my part, if only Brad Parscale hadn’t gone on an alcoholic bender telling his wife he was going to kill himself with one of his many guns to celebrate the Second Amendment, I don’t mean to kick a guy when he’s down, but if Parscale had so much money why was he so depressed? My supposition is that the other partners in Brad’s consulting firm are none other than Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump and they will all be caught red handed with their hands in Daddy’s cookie jar. Perhaps this is why they are trying to muzzle the press and not disclosing all the records. Jeez, we already know that Trump payed a Playboy bunny and a porn star more than a quarter of a million dollars to keep their mouths shut, which is a Federal campaign fund violation. Why would the Trump family’s skimming off the top in broad daylight surprise anyone? TRUMP CANNOT BE TRUSTED. Let’s throw him out, lock him up and throw away the key.

OLD JOE & THE JERK

Pure American Political Graffiti

Most Americans have an aversion to the political season. Every four years it disrupts our lives, goes on far too long and the bombardment of TV spots, direct mail and information overload makes it seem like a giant circus has come to town. Of course, the political process also produces a lot of horse and elephant shit that no one cleans up. I am glad the debates are over, and we are coming to the end of this insanity.

There was no winner at last night’s debate. The Democrats are saying Biden won while Trump followers say their man really landed some punches. All that aside, what we clearly saw last night were the differences between old Joe Biden and the jerk we’ve come to hate, Donald John Trump. Like any two characters in a movie, both are flawed. One is harmlessly competent, while the other is dangerous to our democracy.

Trump is always on defense when it comes to race, racism and racist rhetoric. We heard Joe Biden distance himself from bad decisions of the past. He knows and admits he was wrong in his handling of Anita Hill during the Clarence Thomas’ confirmation hearing. Biden was a major force in the passing of the 1994 crime bill, and he’s played straight regarding its impact on African American men. In the past Joe has said, “There’s another part of my long record that’s being grossly misrepresented: the 1994 crime bill.” Last night, however, he was noticeably direct when saying it was a mistake. That has meaning in a historical context. When looking back at the impact of Ronald Reagan’s policies and executive orders on people of color, you would think Reagan was working for the Klan.

Perhaps Donald Trump’s most unbelievable line during the debate was his repeated statement of, “I am the least racist person in this whole room.” It’s a declaration not only impossible to prove, but nonsensical to any thinking individual. It reminds me of the disingenuous lie often said by a person accused of being a racist, “I am not a racist; some of my best friends are Black.” I have no doubt that Trump is a racist. Here’s an excerpt of a TIME magazine article, “In interviews over the years, Trump has credited his genes for everything from his health to his success, and he’s noted that his children and grandchildren will benefit from them as well.” Once you go down this path, you fall into the trap of what was once known as eugenics, a misguided medical movement of the early 1900s.

This extremely flawed theory was based on the work of British scientist Francis Galton, who concluded that superior intelligence and abilities were inherited. He coined the term “eugenics,” meaning “well born.” Galton theorized that humanity could be improved by encouraging the fittest members of society to have more children. If this sounds a bit like Nazi thinking, you would be right. Trump’s father Fred also believed this to be true, and he taught his kids that they were better than any Black person. My source is the excellent book written by Mary L. Trump, Donald’s niece. You should read it.

Joe Biden is not a racist. He’s just an old man who has experienced the pain of personal loss throughout much of his life. As a political operative, he had an ability to move things forward by bringing both sides together on many issues. I doubt that many of the idiots currently in Congress can be moved off their hidden racist agendas, partisan political dogmas and sick use of power, but, hey, let’s give old Joe a try. What we have now is clearly not working.

Donald Trump is a limited human being, at best. He’s like the game show host who has been parroting the intro line and explanation of how “we play the game” rap which has grown tired, cold and perfunctory over the years. Donald’s endless, repetitive babble leads to the same conclusion; he really doesn’t know what the hell he is doing. He used the debate insult that Obama and Biden built the cages, but no one swings the retaliatory bat with “But, Mr. President, you put the kids in them.” Trump brags about his record on immigration and claims the kids who were separated from their mothers and fathers are being treated very well. REALLY?

Biden landed a good debate punch with this, “I have not taken a penny from any foreign source ever in my life. I have released 22 years of tax returns. You have not released a single year. What are you hiding?” Yes, good question, what is Trump hiding? Few voters care about Hunter Biden. He’s just another offspring, cashing in, like Trump’s kids who aren’t talented, smart or exceptional; they are just Trumps.

Even with new debate rules in place, the Donald interrupted and tried to throw old Joe Biden off the trail, but we aren’t voting for a debate winner. We need a political resolver and uniter. Can Biden unite us? Will Biden unite us? Probably not, but Trump had his damn chance and failed miserably. So much for the myth that we needed a “really good businessman” to run the government. If that was the goal, we should have elected Mitt Romney, who is a great and wealthy entrepreneur. Trump has never been a good businessperson, as the whole world will learn when his tax returns eventually become known.

BusinessInsider.com had this to say about the virus policies of our government, “Upwards of 130,000 coronavirus deaths were ‘avoidable’ if President Donald Trump and his administration had acted sooner and implemented widespread public health precautions, according to a new Columbia University report released on Wednesday (10-21-2020).” The Columbia research is probably correct. Trump cannot defend his conduct related to this pandemic.

Trump stated that the virus is not his fault, and he graciously informed us it’s also not Joe Biden’s fault. Trump blames China and cannot understand why they didn’t stop its spread. His statement about COVID-19 containment proves the Donald has no idea what he’s talking about. If China failed to keep it from “getting out” of their country, then the Trump administration did a morally indefensible, hideous, blatantly incompetent job of controlling its spread across this land. Biden kept reminding us how bad the crisis is, while Trump made fun of Joe in his basement. Comic criticism of Joe Biden’s self-quarantine and mask wearing plays to the hard core Trumpers who deny climate change and the danger of this deadly virus, but most people think Biden should wear a mask. He’s an old guy.

Few of us have ever attained a no-cut, four-year, $400,000 contract to run anything, let alone the United States. Now think about this. Some say Uncle Joe is too old, but let’s not forget Trump promised to hire “expert people” to surround and help him. Remember that line, “Only the best people!” Well, he hired all the wrong people. More than 80 folks have left his administration and, oh yeah, some of them are in jail. One almost put a gun into his mouth to get away from Trump.

The real difference between Trump and Biden is simple. Biden will truly hire the best people. We need Joe only to get us through the next four years, repair Trump’s damage and truly make America great again. Make no mistake, that is exactly what he will do. There’s no reason to debate it.

DUMB BASTARDS

Desperate & Dysfunctional President

Many millions of Americans cannot wait for Donald Trump to go away, forever, and I am one of them. This blog was created four years ago and named WhyWait4Years.com as a call to action, not just against Trump and his foolish cult followers but for all our citizens to become more proactive and involved in the political process.

Most people didn’t take Donald Trump seriously, and that is how be became president. They laughed at his bad jokes and school yard putdowns, never believing that he would become the President of the United States and bash our nation with countless terrible, regressive and harmful acts.

Mean Distracted Leader

Over the past 24 hours, we have learned that lawyers working with judges and the “system” say they can’t find the parents of 545 migrant children separated by the Trump administration at the US-Mexico border. How can this be? Kirstjen Nielsen, the former Department of Homeland Security Chief, claimed, “there was no policy to separate families.” Well then, why did she sign a memo approving the separation of minors from their migrant family members? Both she and Jeff Sessions, who approved the order, should be brought before either US courts or the World Court and charged with crimes against children, and Donald Trump should be named as a co-conspirator.

Unsurprisingly, Huffington Post claims they’ve received leaked documents showing that the White House knew of a giant COVID-19 spike as the President falsely claimed the coronavirus “affects virtually nobody.” The Donald believes if he simply says we are over the pandemic, then we are. What a dumb bastard.

Now we also know that some nefarious source is sending threatening emails to US voters. According to Forbes magazine, “The email told voters to cast their ballot for President Donald Trump or ‘we will come after you,’ telling voters that they were in possession of ‘all of their information’ and that ‘I would take this seriously if I were you.’'” And the FBI and National Security people announced last night that RUSSIA and IRAN have stolen all the US voter data and are responsible for this activity. Why didn’t Trump fortify our voter systems? Failed leadership is why. The FBI is now investigating the emails as potential voter intimidation, a federal offense that could bring a prison sentence of up to one year.

The desperate and dysfunctional man who claims to be our president lies openly and often, even when his words infect and maybe even kill people. Let’s not forget that 8,338,467Americans have been infected with COVID-19 and 222,220 have died. By the time you read this those numbers will be even greater, and that is blood on the small hands of Donald Trump.

Top White House Enabler

Then there’s this report from Axios, “White House chief of staff Mark Meadows is leaning on the Pentagon to move ahead with a plan to stand up a 5G wireless network, despite opposition from key government and private-sector players, [which] could well outlive the Trump administration.” In straightforward language, TRUMP is seeking to circumvent the legal bidding process which allows the Department of Defense to lease bandwidth capacity to wireless carriers and other companies for implementing 5G technology.

According to the New York Times, “Rivada Networks, a politically connected firm that counts Peter Thiel, a prominent Trump donor, among its investors, appears to be positioning itself for the lucrative contract to provide the technology for such a system.” Rivada has been pushed by GOP figures including Karl Rove and Newt Gingrich, and Rivada principals other than Thiel have contributed to the Trump reelection effort.

Peter Thiel is a billionaire immigrant from Germany who heads Free Forever, a political-action committee. Among other things, it is committed to supporting political candidates who will fight to secure the border, create restrictionism in immigration policy, fund care for veterans and enact isolationist foreign policy. So, it’s ironically strange that this immigrant has made billions in the US but is now fighting hard to keep others out. If Thiel, who was one of the investors in PayPal, Facebook and other big internet companies, wants to take control of the Pentagon’s 5G frequencies, what is in it for Trump? Do Eric, Don Jr and Ivanka own stock in his company? Don’t we have a right to know these things?

Peter Thiel’s Wikipedia page tells us that, “Thiel supported Donald Trump and became one of the California delegates for Trump’s nomination.” During the Republican convention, he announced that he was “proud to be gay!” He also gave Trump a $1.25 million donation in 2016, while his Thiel Foundation is a big supporter of the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ). That group promotes the right of journalists to report the news freely without fear of reprisal. Are you confused yet? You shouldn’t be.

Peter Thiel gave money to Trump because he’s smart and betting on a payday coming from a corrupt bidding process. If this isn’t pay for play, then I don’t know the meaning of that phrase. The Trump Administration is one huge fucking swamp. And I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that he has been a giant critic of Google, the company the DOJ just sued under the Taft-Hartley Act on monopolies. Is Peter Thiel running the government? Is he the deep state?

If you think it’s okay to take children away from their parents, you know, like Hitler did, then vote for Trump. If you think it’s fine to put our citizens in harm’s way and ignore our public health crisis, then go ahead and reelect Trump. If you think it’s business as usual for Trump to look the other way while Russia and other hackers attempt to distort the minds of Americans, then go vote for that corrupt son-of-bitch Trump. If you support voter intimidation by allowing militia tin soldiers with guns and flags in our polling places, then you deserve Trump. Finally, if you let Donald John Trump use our nation as his own personal piggy bank, then you are the DUMB BASTARDS he referred to during one of his speeches.

Should Trump win another four years and you start to complain about how bad things are, get ready for my response. I will simply say, in a clear and calm tone, FUCK YOU.

OPEN LETTER TO STANFORD

The University Should Protect Its Reputation

Today, I’ve had enough. I’m tired of people who are hurting our fellow citizens and we must speak out. We need to point out that when educational institutions enable false information, they are wrong and must be confronted. Stanford University is a great school, but they may be risking that reputation. So, I wrote a letter:

Dear Stanford University,

Is Stanford University willing to trash its good reputation because of SCOTT ATLAS?

I hope this message finds its way to the person responsible for causing all the problems. Is Dr. Atlas the sole member of Stanford’s HOOVER INSTITUTION? Who oversees this? What oversight is applied by the University? THIS EMAIL SHOULD BE READ BY THE PROVOST AND PRESIDENT. I would have sent this to Marc Tessier-Lavigne, but I can’t find an email address for him.

Let’s start with some basic knowledge.

  1. More than 220,000 people in the United States have died because of the COVID-19 crisis.
  2. The Trump administration has produced a confusing and misinformed policy on fighting the virus.
  3. The White House has hired a Stanford Fellow to advise the President.
  4. Dr. Scott Atlas, that advisor, has contributed to the confusion and misinformation.
  5. Dr. Scott Atlas has tweeted that face coverings (masks) do not work.

So, let’s get real. If I were the President of the United States, I would fire this man ASAP. If I were running Stanford, I would disassociate myself from this individual immediately. Why?

LIES for a LIAR

What Scott Atlas is really saying is that front line people are NOT protected by PPE. ANY MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL KNOWS THAT IS NOT TRUE. Doctors wear coverings during an operation to protect the patient and themselves. This is a fact. Is that what Dr. Atlas meant? I assume that SNC uses best practices, so why would the president’s advisor perpetrate a lie? Why wouldn’t Dr. Atlas recommend that people going out in the public during a global pandemic wear a mask to protect themselves? This man is harming people with his false words.

Dr. Atlas told millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions they should take the risk of getting the virus. What oath did he take? What, or who, is guiding his advice? Is he adhering to the Hippocratic Oath? Remember, a piece of that oath says, “First, do no harm.” Could it be that Dr. Atlas is being manipulated by someone trying to affect an election rather than save people’s lives? Only the good doctor knows the answer, but what responsibility does STANFORD UNIVERSITY have in this equation?

I don’t believe Dr. Atlas comprehends the position he is in. He got hired, appeared on TV, got noticed and walked away from all his medical knowledge and expertise just to be “another opinion.” The number of doctors and other medical experts who have spoken out against Dr. Atlas is overwhelming. Perhaps he’s in the leech business wanting to bring back arcane ideas that have long been disproved. He talked about “herd immunity,” then he distanced himself from his own proposal. VACILLATION is not a VACCINATION.

I am not a “cancel culture” person, I am a concerned citizen.

You don’t need to cancel Scott Atlas. You must decide whether you want our grandkids to go to Stanford. Right now, Dr. Atlas is not much better than soiled PPE. You can keep putting him on, but it’s dangerous for America. Ask Paul Romer, ask Dr. Fauci, ask any doctor on the front lines.

I am posting this to social media in the hope that someone will share this with the person responsible for protecting the reputation of STANFORD UNIVERSITY. No action is just complicity, not intelligent management of people you pay. Do the right thing.

BLAMER & SHAMER

The Lunatic Must Go Away

It seems to me that we have a precise, exact understanding about the nature of a bully. It’s a person who habitually seeks to harm, intimidate or coerce those whom they perceive as vulnerable, and this brings us to one of oldest stories in the world. Throughout the years, the book The Tortoise and the Hare by Aesop has gathered conflicting interpretations. The book describes a race between a turtle and a rabbit.  It’s a variant of a common folktale theme in which ingenuity and trickery are employed to overcome a stronger, dogged opponent, but what should we take away from the old storyline?

Aesop’s short story attempts to convey a moral, but what is it? The lesson seems vague. In the classical interpretation, it was not the tortoise’s plucky persistence in taking on a bully that was emphasized, but rather the hare’s foolish overconfidence. When one is overconfident they tend to make mistakes, take risks and emotionalize their every move.

Donald John Trump has decided that because he has “conquered” the coronavirus the infection is no longer a risk to anyone. Some of those who attended his mask-less, crowded events will surely get sick. Those folks will either suffer the BIG BANG of COVID, or they will be ill for days with one of the worst flus they’ve ever had. What a price to pay for such zealous foolishness.

Donald Trump’s request that his right-wing domestic terrorists bring guns to our voting places is not only unamerican, it’s voter intimidation. The Donald doesn’t care about you or democracy. He’s a wannabe dictator attempting to hijack the Constitution. Who will stand by and let him do this? Who will be blamed for the cheating, voter intimidation and lack of respect for the law? Will they be charged?

According to the New York Times, “…more than 7,700 ballots have been challenged and face rejection in North Carolina. In Florida, that number is 11,900.” Most of those ballots have been tossed because the voter’s signature could not be verified. What an arcane way to determine the authenticity of a ballot. Years ago, when having to sign thousands of business letters, I developed a signature with two lower case “ds.” I later shortened that to one lower case “d” with a front launch, a twirl and then a long tail. My boss once admonished me to “use your real signature!” and my kids used this simplified form to forge an unknown number of permission slips. All that aside, why are we using signatures as verification? We’re no longer living in the fifties. There are better ways.

If he loses the election, Trump has prepared his sycophants to blame the dark, sinister forces of the “deep state.” Should you be tempted to believe his bark, don’t be fooled. It’s much bigger than his bite. He’s an immoral, unconscientious, spoiled brat-boy. He will eventually take his toys and go home, but not quietly.

Can you believe Trump is trying to shame his own experts on viruses because he doesn’t like the truth? Those who disagree with him are the enemy and they must suffer. According to Politico, in a conference call with campaign workers, Trump called the whole COVID Task Force “idiots” on Monday, and even mused about potentially firing the nation’s top infectious disease expert.

REALLY? Who is this good for? Nobody. Trump went on to say, “People are tired of Covid. People are saying, ‘Whatever, just leave us alone.’ People are tired of hearing Fauci and all these idiots,” Trump knew the press was on the call, so he was using the forum to attack and lash out at Fauci. “He’s been here for, like, 500 years. Fauci, if we listened to him, we’d have 500,000 deaths.” This all makes Trump one glorious douchebag.

When right-wing domestic terrorists got caught planning to kidnap a US governor, Trump attempted to shame the female ruler and blame her for the problem. It’s like the small-town sheriff saying the woman who was raped was “asking for it.” I cannot believe that devout Christians can keep vouching for this guy.

Donald Trump does everything he can to merge Black Lives Matter protesters, civil rights protesters and Democrats into the unorganized followers of Antifa. The trumpers keep calling those on the left socialists, fascists and anti-fascists. Could they at least get their beliefs together? Are they anti-fascists or are they and Trump pro-fascists? If they love the 45th President, they must be pro-fascist.

The lunatic in the West Wing is not focused on being president. When he was a “builder” and marketer of his name for gain, he hardly worked on the real substance of his organization’s goals. He much preferred getting stroked by his people, reading about himself in the gossip columns and basking in the adoration of younger women. It’s his thing. He gets the most out of the least amount of work.

John Kelly

General John Kelly says Trump is the most flawed person he’s ever known, but did nothing to stop him. John Bolton believes Donald is unfit to be president, especially when it comes to foreign policy, but Bolton won’t vote for Joe Biden to dispose the asshole. We’ve heard from many who have served this president, but my favorite description comes from former Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson. He said Donald Trump is a “fucking moron.” Sadly, no one has stepped up to stop him.

The sickest fault of Trump is his inability to understand anything outside of his tiny world. He lacks empathy and cannot possibly do anything of meaning for anyone else. The cult activity of this deranged man will ultimately end in the total disgrace of most of his family and our country. If the picture that eventually is posted on Donald John Trump’s Wikipedia page shows him being led off the White House grounds by federal agents, he and his offspring will have deep regrets. Nixon’s final photograph leaving office on Marine One reflected the cliché of his entire presidency. He gave a double peace sign, yet he hated those who invented the gesture.

Trump will certainly give us another gesture when removed from office. It’s about time we end this whole notion that, as Nixon claimed, “If the president does it, it cannot be illegal.” We are all sick of the blame game and the never-ending shaming and bullying. I thought Nixon should have served time in jail. I now believe that if Donald Trump is found guilty of violating any US laws, he should be imprisoned. No President should be allowed to pardon him, but then, I’m just a law and order blogger. HA!
