TRUMP’S GENERAL DISARRAY

Major Disagreements on Principle

See that small crack in the wall? As the tremors President Donald J. Trump himself has created shake the foundation of our very republic, we are watching that crack widen and spawn others, threatening the democracy of the United States of America.

There was a time in the last two years, when those words would have been greeted with the admonishment that I was being unreasonable, and that Trump was a good president. His fans would say, “Why are you freaking out? You’ll see it all work out.” It hasn’t. It won’t. It can’t. Donald Trump is disruptive, in a very unproductive way.

The Generals are all leaving him now. Those Generals he so aligned himself with during the campaign so that the America public might see him as the Command-in-Chief we need, rather than the boisterous buffoon he’s always been. The retired military leaders stood on stage with him and waved their hands. One even led the chant of “Lock her up,” but in the end, they were just props for the Donald Show, one we hope doesn’t get renewed for a second season.

People like General Kelly and General Flynn are ideologs Trump used and then threw away. General James N. Mattis, our former Secretary of Defense, is a man of honor and honesty. I said in my book, Donald Trump: Repeal, Replace, Impeach, that Trump picked him based solely on the fact he liked saying his nickname, “Mad Dog Mattis.” While that was unfair to General Mattis, it probably is truer than most of what Trump has said in the past two years.

We have found ourselves in many major disagreements on principle with Donald J. Trump. Things aren’t getting better, they are getting worse. Before we get to February, when Trump will push a partisan into the role of Secretary of Defense, let’s look at Jim Mattis’ serious words.

One line that probably stung Trump the hardest, “One core belief I have always held is that our strength as a nation is inextricably linked to the strength of our unique and comprehensive system of alliances and partnerships.” This brings America to the real debate we’ve been having for the last two or three years, “globalist” vs. “nationalist.” This conundrum Trump has forced to the forefront has been fabricated into the farce one could cynically call the Trump Doctrine.

Mattis is a smart man. He understands how the world works far better than Donald Trump ever will. Let’s think of the world as a giant tree. Some people see only the branches and the limbs but never consider the root system that feeds and supports the mighty plant. Trump sees only the tree. He’s happy when it’s in bloom and fully green, but turns against it when the leaves turn brown and drop to the ground. He would rather cut the tree down and sell the wood, than understand what is really going on. He’s not someone you want leading a country during the autumn and winter months.

We are entering the winter of his presidency and we must shore up our institutions to deal with this bad leader. All the countries of the world are linked. They are the root system that keeps democracy and democracies alive. The principles we bring to the world order are smart strategies based on history, military strength and, most importantly, our calm resolve in the face of calamities. Donald J. Trump is the wrong person to lead the greatest country in the world. He is not worthy.

What Jim Mattis has brought to light is the veracity that Trump has pissed off our allies and given some of the dastardliest regimes a chance to grow. These weeds are out to hurt our allies and eventually take advantage of the United States of America. Mattis has told truth, and for that I respect him greatly.

Which One is Out of Place?

Donald Trump doesn’t believe in America, he believes in Donald Trump. Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis pointed out that, “… we must use all tools of American power to provide for the common defense, including providing effective leadership to our alliances.” And with that line, the head of the pentagon and all our troops was saying that the President is not a good leader. 60% of America already knows this and more Republicans are finally coming to their senses. We have two choices, wait until 2020 and elect someone else, or IMPEACH TRUMP NOW!

America is more than one man. We will survive the departure of Generals Mattis and Kelly, and we certainly don’t need a traitor like Michael Flynn anywhere near the White House, but the natives are restless. People are seeing the results of terrible domestic and foreign policies that have wrought worrisome disarray and disorder. As the true American hero John McCain said, “It’s time we get back to regular order.” And, I might add, as soon as possible.

Ask the farmer who has storehouses full of soybeans he can’t sell. Trump has no idea what he’s doing with trade. Ask the single mother of three who received absolutely no benefit from Trump’s imaginary tax cut. Our child-in-chief has no idea what it’s like to live in American without vast sums of money. Ask the Florida small businesses that were forced to close due to dead fish on the beach. Trump’s environmental policies and “theories” will destroy our land and value as a nation.

We are all Americans, and until we get a president who is there for ALL OF AMERICA, we are less than great. Trump is destroying our nation. I implore both Democrats and Republicans to create an exit strategy for Trump. After he pulls all the troops out of Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq, the Middle East will dissolve to chaos. That will not be good for Israel or America. TRUMP is the PROBLEM. Let’s fix it, now!

DRAMATIC RETREAT

Trump Pulls Out of Syria

When the Donald J. Trump Foundation “charity” was forced to closure by New York State, our orange president bearing the same name suddenly announced that all US Troop would be withdrawn from Syria. Did the President of the United States make a major policy decision just to push his foundation problems off the front page. OMG!

Could this decision be part of the promises Trump made behind closed doors to Putin in Helsinki? Our president confuses his campaign promises to his misguided and unhealthy love of the Russian leader. This administration’s Foreign Policy is based on Trump’s myopic viewpoints with no input from experts.

The Senators, both Democrats and Republicans, have become very vocal about this snap decision and some, like Lyndsey Graham, have said this rash move is Obama-like. You cannot present a greater criticism of Trump than comparing him to Obama. So what will Trump do now?

Even Fox News presenters are criticizing our esteemed leader. Rush Limbaugh has declared Trump’s declaration a mistake since he got nothing in return from the other leaders. For once, Rush is making sense.

What a colossal political mistake. Trump just executed a “Mission Accomplished” moment. Putin backs Trump’s move to withdraw US troops from Syria, but only goes as far as saying the Islamic State has been dealt “serious blows.” Even Putin doesn’t believe ISIS is defeated. Trump may have done a deal with the leader of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who convinced him that the Kurds are terrorists and moving troops out of Syria would help the world. How naïve Trump must be.

What we have said here from the beginning is that Trump’s use of Twitter will create a major problem to this country, our security and the world order. He’s not mature enough to have a Twitter account. If I was a millionaire, I would sue Twitter and Trump and seek an injunction against them. There must be a restraining order against the President. TRUMP IS WRONG, and every Republican knows it.

Add this to the impeachment case against Donald J. Trump. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to stand up for America!

IS TRUMP A RUSSIAN AGENT?

Russian Campaign to Divide Sounds Like Trump

There is a timeless question that comes to mind here, did the chicken or the egg come first? As we write this piece, a new USA TODAY / Suffolk University poll says that 59% of America distrusts the President and believes he lies. That’s compared to 53% of those surveyed who said they have confidence and trust in Robert Mueller and his investigation into Trump.

This comes out right before researchers from New Knowledge, Columbia University, and Canfield Research, University of Oxford and Graphika will release their findings on the years-long efforts by the Russian Internet Research Agency (IRA) to influence politics and opinions in America by weaponizing social media platforms. The news is not good.

Vox.com really gave a great overview of the findings, “Russia favored Trump over Clinton, Russia especially targeted African Americans, Russian content focused mainly on political and national security issues, not the election itself, Russia’s use of social media was wider than we thought.”

Donald Trump’s greatest failure as President is his lack of action on these facts. He seems to be working for the Russians and protecting them for some reason. This feels eerily like the plot of the movie, The Manchurian Candidate, starring Frank Sinatra. In the movie, soldiers who had been imprisoned during the Korean War were thought to have been brainwashed during their capture. And a presidential candidate might have been compromised and being controlled by the communist menace. Why do I feel like Trump is being controlled by Vladimir Putin?

Much of what the Russian Internet group had propagated via social media before, during and after the election has been parroted by Trump in tweets and at rallies. Is this a case of Trump reading this disinformation campaign online or hearing them on the Fox News channel, or is this a case of Fox and Trump creating these theories and the Russians using their money and time to transmit these mistruths to Americans? Chicken or Egg?

We know from Facebook and Twitter that those Internet research companies based in Russia had purchased large blocks of advertising messages to spread their propaganda and apparently are still doing it. They are even attempting to defame Robert Mueller and the FBI, this is purely an Un-American activity that our current president is endorsing with his words and inaction. Is he simply a Manchurian President?

From the beginning, we’ve said Trump was bad for America. We have never wavered in our strong feelings and analysis of statements and data that show that America is less safe because of President Trump. IMPEACHMENT is the only answer. If you truly believe in America, stop believing in the lying Donald Trump.

DENSELY DUMB ON HEALTHCARE

Trump Shows His Lack of Leadership, Again

Once again, the Republicans and their head Goofball, Donald Trump, have passed something without the comprehension on how their policy affects people. The Tax Reform the President cheered, was basically a trojan horse that gave a right-wing judge in Texas the justification to throw out the whole Affordable Care Act. What the fine print giveth, a judge wrote some large print to, in a sense, make a new law. Judges are not supposed to write law, they are supposed to judge the constitutionality of a policy.

The fact that the fine, or what Justice Roberts called a tax, was taken away by the president and all his clones in Congress, has created a problem far behind the celebration we saw at the White House. When Trump said that healthcare was very complicated, “who knew” he showed his lack of focus on subject and the reason his lack of reading and understanding anything is a giant flaw in this man. He’s unqualified to be president and has no credibility on any issue. He doesn’t take the time to understand or even take a deeper look to see the pros and cons of any important decision.

The Complicit Members of Congress

Trump tweeted without thinking again, “Wow, but not surprisingly, ObamaCare was just ruled UNCONSTITUTIONAL by a highly respected judge in Texas. Great news for America!” One of the questions someone should ask the president, “How is this good for America?” When our Great Orange Leader cheers taking away people’s healthcare insurance, how can he sleep? Trump is not incurable disease, a deity or an emperor, he can be eliminated with a cure called IMPEACHMENT.

After being excited about the Texas ruling, Trump’s more civil side sent out a tweet that said, “Now Congress must pass a STRONG law that provides GREAT healthcare and protects pre-existing conditions. Mitch and Nancy, get it done!” He totally doesn’t recognize that his bad ideas led to problems. He created the problem by sabotaging the law and then he pushes the problem to Congress as if he is an external satellite only rotating around the people, not really helping them.

With all the complications Trump faces with investigations into every part of his business and governance, he decided to attack SNL. WTF? He positioned the comedy show as part of a vast conspiracy against him. Hate to break the news to him, but it isn’t a conspiracy, they are presenting skits where you are the joke. What the Donald should deal with is the fact that more than 60% of the America public want to laugh at Donald Trump. They love when the court jester shows that the President has no pants.

The number of his rants (tweets) are increasing because he feels like he is under attack, surveillance and being second guessed on everything he does. It’s true, there are many patriots out to get him. They are smart lawyers and law makers who realize that Donald Trump does not respect the law and has no patience for regular order. He wants chaos over calm. He wants dictatorship over leadership. He serves no productive purpose in his current position and should be removed. After he is impeached, the courts can decide whether he is the crook many think he is. But for now, let’s get to it and IMPEACH him. That would make America great, again.

SEX, LIES & AUDIO TAPES

The End of Times Coming for Trump

When will responsible people in power wake up and start to realize that America is more important than party politics and Trump’s ego? Within the last 24-hours we have learned that Trump’s ex-lawyer, Michael Cohen, was instructed to make hush payments to women who allege affairs with Donald Trump before he ran for president.

One of these payments was corroborated by AMI, the owner of the National Inquirer, for the sole purpose of helping Donald Trump with the 2016 presidential election. And now we have a Russian national, Maria Butina, pleading guilty to charges of espionage with attempts to infiltrate conservative leaders in Congress and the National Rifle Association. The NRA bought more than $10 million in political advertisements for Trump. The missing piece of information is whether Russian banks gave money to the NRA before the election. But STOP and listen America. Butina believed she could infiltrate our political process by getting cozy with the NRA. She should be called to testify before Congress.

And our Great Orange Leader cannot keep his trap shut. Exhibit #1: a string of tweets from 12-12-2018 by Donald J. Trump which included this lie, “I never directed Michael Cohen to break the law.” With nine words, President Donald Trump has sullied the office of the president and embarrassed the United States on the world stage.

First, Michael Cohen was an employee of the Trump Organization and his actions were in concert with the CEO, CFO and President of that company. Someone in the organization approved the payments. Michael Cohen recorded his discussion about the payment with Donald Trump. That recording has been aired by the media. Trump is heard suggesting that Cohen pay cash, obviously thinking CASH would be less traceable. Isn’t that the way organized crime handles deals?

Trump claimed that he was just acting on the “advice of his lawyer” and makes some claim of Cohen’s liability to him. What? Cohen plead guilty and got three years in jail. He is paying for his mistake. Will Trump ever?

The president saying that, “I did nothing wrong with respect to campaign finance laws…” sounds quite a bit like, “I am not a crook,” the fateful words of another presidential law breaker. This sweet denial of guilt on the part of our President of the United States makes one want to open a deep discussion about how to indict a sitting president. One thing is perfect clear, the man has lost it.

We learned that Trump was in the room when the deal with David Pecker of AMI was concocted, and the publisher believes he was doing this “dirty deed” to help TRUMP win the election. Today (12-14-2018), Michael Cohen took to ABC TV to sing. When does this end? How will this end? Winter is coming.

Thankfully, there’s a surfacing reality that more and more people are admitting, at least to themselves, that Donald Trump is a liar. What took them so long?

Media pundits reference Trump’s large support by Republicans and his base, but even they are starting to say, “Yeah, he lies, but he’s doing a good job.” Do we really want someone leading America who lies? Is a liar better than someone who tells the truth? Maybe one day we will all wake up and realize this all was just a bad nightmare and get back to a normal America. I can’t wait.

ORRIN HATCH IS A MORON

Republicans Sell Their Souls for Trump

I never thought I would say I would be happy that Mitt Romney was the next Senator from Utah, but I am. Another way to say it, when Orrin Hatch retires at the end of the year, the United States Senate will be a better body.

When Senator Hatch was asked about the obvious connection between Michael Cohen’s crimes and testimony and Donald Trump, Mr. Hatch said he didn’t care. He just brushed aside the reporter saying, “Trump is doing a good job as president.” Really? Orrin’s reaction was like the Catholic parishioner looking the other way on sexual abuse and saying we should think about all the good things Father “So and So” has done. Where’s the law and order, Mr. Hatch?

We have been hearing Donald Trump’s chant of “No Collusion” and the misrepresentative of the Special Counsel’s investigation as a “Witch Hunt” for more than a year, but the President is running out of time to prove his innocence. Let’s make it clear, the reason the investigation was started was because of the facts that many Trump associates and campaign people met with Russians and LIED ABOUT IT. And the reason this was important from the beginning was because the US intelligence community all agreed that Russian agents attempted to disrupt the electoral process in the 2016 Presidential election. These are facts and dangerous activities.

The dirty deeds of Trump allegedly having affairs and paying the women for their silence to help his chances of being elected, were minor events until Trump LIED ABOUT IT. Michael Cohen and now, the publisher of the National Inquirer have accused Trump of paying women to help him get elected. It’s an in-kind political contribution, which is against the law.

John Edwards used “child support” as an accuse for his dirty deeds. We wonder what senseless scheme or legal loophole Trump’s team will claim. It’s not the crime, it’s the cover-up that places Trump in the same league as Richard Nixon.

The fact that Trump refused to release his tax returns wasn’t breaking a law, but the reason he didn’t release them was a LIE. What might be hidden in those returns would shed light on whether Trump owes money to Russian or Saudi Arabian banks. And what moneys will Donald Trump make if he does favors for certain countries? The emolument case in Maryland and D.C. will prove how much money Trump and his family are making since he has become president. Those will be more FACTS, not lies.

The reason the Republicans are not speaking out against the way Trump has handled all this is because of people like Orrin Hatch. What moral authority lets him look the other way when the leader of the free world lies to his countrymen and women? Maybe Mitt can stand up to those in his party and start to bring some moderate, moral judgements to the floor of the Senate. Without Corker and Flake, the body is on shaky ground. The earthquake Trump has brought to America has done its damage and it’s time for someone to stand up and say, let’s move forward with REGULAR ORDER. The cracks in Democracy can be fixed, but we should NOT wait too long.

It’s not a party thing, it’s an American thing. Donald J. Trump is a LIAR, and everyone knows it. He’s a grand master flip-flopper and has little comprehension of how our government works and why international leadership is important. Trump is more interested in performing in his dystopian reality TV show, swirling fear and promoting conspiracies that have no basis in fact. He’s a pathological liar.

We must impeach him. Why waste the time trying to change the law about indicting a sitting president? Congress has a method to remove the cancer from the Presidency, it’s impeachment. We cannot wait for the toadies and traitors in Congress to get the job done. The American people must SPEAK UP and defeat the liars.

Ruthless & Truthless Liar

A Case for Indicting a Sitting President

There is a very well-written 29-page memo the Department of Justice posted on October 2000 that clearly says that a sitting president cannot be indicted. If you want to read the whole thing, it’s right here. But let’s cut to the chase, it says that, “The indictment or criminal prosecution of a sitting President would unconstitutionally undermine the capacity of the executive branch to perform its constitutionally assigned functions.”

Some might argue that it’s time to examine that under unusual circumstances, a sitting president should be able to be indicted. Within our legal system the only true remedy of dealing with an unsavory leader is impeachment. Anyone watching this slow-moving disruption of the norms of America with Donald Trump will agree that this president has created an “usual circumstance.”

The opinion memo from DOJ in 2000 has a funny reference to the concept of charging a sitting president but postponing a trial until he’s out of office with, “…there would be a Russian roulette aspect to…[it].” RUSSIA! RUSSIA! RUSSIA!

Another not so funny admission was that Justice thinks having 12 unelected jurors decide the fate of the President would be a dangerous precedent and alluded to the fact that such weighty matters would be outside the regular joe’s experience. In short, they are saying ordinary citizens are not smart enough to judge such complicated matters. Really? That’s how they kept the vote and being on juries from women for almost 150 years. Or were they being a bit truthful about the flaw in the system of a jury of your peers?

We certainly believe that no man or woman is above the law. Our founding fathers were smart men who understood the need to make sure the top executive of the nation was free from frivolous law suits or local laws that could thwart his ability to do the nations’ business. They also had to deal with the conflict between the person who runs the justice department (the President) having the power of executive privilege. You cannot be the defendant and judge in the same case.

The founding fathers were a group of rich landowners who believed, their class, would never let someone of such low values and character to ever land the job of President. They were idealistic and a bit naïve, but then, how could they have ever predicted how America would change or even, a Donald Trump.

With filings landing in the Special Counsel’s investigation into Russian intervention into our 2016 election and the proposed “political synergy” between the Trump campaign and Russian operatives, we are seeing more hints of obstructing the investigation. If these accusations are true, it seems the President of the United States was, at least, more involved than he has admitted. If you care about America and our Democratic process, then you should take notice that these accusations are coming from the Justice Department, not some left-wing conspirators.

The founders of this great land wanted the Congress to be the check and balance in all presidential matters and clearly stated that impeachment for “high crimes and misdemeanors” was the way to dispense with a bad guy in the White House. And this notion has been revealed in our history.

Presidents Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton were all impeached by the US House of Representatives. Although Johnson missed being tossed out of office by only one vote. Bill Clinton’s impeachment verdict fell short by 22 votes. Nixon never made it to impeachment. His party convinced him to resign and walk away from all his illegal activities. Later, President Ford pardoned Nixon. Completing the invisible circle that people in high offices rarely, even if convicted, serve time.

We don’t want to ever think that the party in power could execute a coup to take the voter’s choice out of office. At the same time, the credibility of the entire justice system of America is diminished if the chief executive breaks the law and is not held accountable for his or her actions. That is why it’s called a Constitutional Crisis.

If the President breaks the law while in office, he can only be impeached, he cannot be indicted, arrested or stand trial. We get it. If Donald Trump knows that he will be indicted once he leaves office, he will simply do a deal with Pence to get a pardon. We have already seen this one played out. If a Democrat is elected President, then Trump, if found guilty could do some time. Elections do matter.

Not all is lost, in the memo released in 2000 it does confirm that the Chief Executive does have to cooperate with any investigation and must provide documents, so long as they don’t interfere with his busy schedule. He doesn’t have to go to any courtroom, but he must comply with any request for documents or information, so long as it doesn’t involve national security. That excuse has been used over years and it has not generally impressed the courts or judges. If you want to get into the weeds, look up US vs. Nixon, or Nixon vs. Fitzgerald, or Clinton vs. Jones.

In conclusion, there is no legal way a president can be indicted while in office. The Vice President and everyone else in government does not have that immunity. So, to all the Democrats and Never-Trump Republicans, the only way the presidency (the institution) can be protected is by Congress acting. YOU HAVE TO IMPEACH TRUMP before you can make him stand trial. And if Robert Mueller shows you the President did not protect America and violated his oath, you must IMPEACH.
