CONFEDERATE TROOPS OF TRUMP

He Tried to Pull Off a Coup and Failed

This NBC News weekend headline hit me hard, “Off the grid, heavily armed and radicalized: He’s a law enforcement nightmare – Lonnie Coffman, a Capitol protester from the backwoods of Alabama, represents the kind of threat that keeps crime fighters ‘up at night,’ a former FBI profiler said.” Oh, great, now we have rebels amongst us thanks to Donald Trump.

Untrained Trump Insurrectionist

What does the word “confederate” mean? It’s a person one works with — an accomplice, accessory or collaborator — especially in a secret or illegal venture. The term took on special meaning by those who supported the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. Those traitors brought groups of people together in an alliance of common cause to overthrow the US government. They were not successful, but 620,000 Americans died because of their desire to keep slavery.

Only five people have died so far in Trump’s indoctrination, instigation and incitement of the Capitol Hill riot a week and a half ago, but things could very well get worse. What are we to do? How do we reverse the cause and course of the millions of people who believe that the presidential election was stolen, and the Biden presidency is illegitimate?

What can happen when a lunatic decides to fire on the National Guard? In May of 1970 at Kent State University, we saw the damage militia can bring to protesters, but how can we prevent such a confrontational scene from happening? There is no one who could inspire Trump to issue a statement admitting he lost, and Biden fairly won the election. The man always acts exactly opposite of what any reasonable person should. That’s just who he is.

We can’t let this fat, worthless piece of shit ruin our nation. If Abraham Lincoln had lived longer, some of the lessons learned in the Civil War wouldn’t have been ignored and we could have averted the notion of carpetbaggers and Jim Crow laws. It’s sad that Andrew Johnson, the man who took over for Lincoln, was just another southern racist.

It’s good that Twitter and Facebook stepped up and acted responsibly. They are finally applying their rules and policies consistently. The cable news networks, including some Fox News reports, have painted a more realistic portrait of the narcissist who has been living in the White House, but he certainly won’t be there to greet the new President. He’s a pure loser,

Did you see that former military man carrying wrist ties and stalking about the Capitol during the riot? Surely his nylon wraps were intended to restrain members of Congress, but he offered this lame excuse, “Oh, I just found them on the ground and was going to give them to the police.” Yes, I’m sure he was going to do just that. His lawyer will deliver carefully written excuses to the court and a judge will have to glean the man’s true intent, but anyone with half a brain can see that he’s a liar, just like his orange idol.

Clutching Power

Let’s set aside the lies of that dipshit. We should concentrate on the Donald’s behavior and where he will direct it next. To what end does this madman think he can affect reality with his conspiracies? Donald Trump has no moral compass, and he did not learn any lessons with either of his impeachments, despite what Susan Collins of Maine thinks. The man is incapable of comprehending facts and consequences and therefore oblivious to the worthwhile lessons he might otherwise absorb.

Where do these militias set to harm our structures of government and the peace of the nation get their ideas? Well, Ronald Reagan taught that government interference is bad, and the two Bush presidents demonstrated that starting a war without a declaration was easy when citizens’ heads are filled with nationalistic fervor. After electing our first African American President, the “birthers” came along with their lies and the phrase “Take our country back.” The white supremacists then adopted the phrase, and their meaning was taking the country back from Black people. If you don’t believe me, ask them.

All the while we obsessed with those weapons of mass destruction over there we were deregulating ownership of similar weapons over here. Ask the parents of the kids killed at school in Newtown, Connecticut. Here’s a thought-provoking headline from USA Today, “America’s other epidemic killed 41,000 people this year.” Yes, this year alone firearms killed nine times more Americans that those killed in the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars combined.

The incompetence of the Trump administration’s handling of COVID-19 contributed to over 400,000 deaths in this country, more than any other in the world. If you told me that Vladimir Putin was in total control of Trump and guiding him toward a grand sabotage of our country, I would absolutely believe you. Here’s Putin’s checklist: sew distrust of our institutions, create a vast cultural divide among our citizens, push the state into political disarray, decrease the effectiveness of our educational institutions and foment Civil War. Does any of that sound familiar?

The United States is vastly different than Turkey, with a tyrant who wants to be a sultan. When the attempted coup of January 6th failed here, our wannabe dictator was not strengthened but severely wounded instead. With more than 67% of our citizens saying they disapprove of the job Donald Trump has done, it’s clear that he is both a LOSER and a FAILURE!

Trump is utterly incapable of crafting a useful strategy. Those “loyal” judges he appointed are strict Constitutionalists. They don’t have the back of our raving, lunatic President. Why does Trump think that everyone owes him something? Well, it’s not surprising; he’s been taught that since he was a child. Read Mary L. Trump’s book.

Donald Trump owes us an apology for fucking up America, but don’t hold your breath waiting for it. I need readers. The FBI and local police forces will have their hands full with those proud boys, neo-Nazis, white supremacists and antigovernmental militias who attacked Congress. Expect to see many infiltrations, investigations, arrests, charges and trials over the coming months. These goofballs are not afraid to tell the truth about at least one subject, their allegiance. According to the Washington Post, the “retired firefighter from Pennsylvania who has been charged with throwing a fire extinguisher at police officers felt he was ‘instructed’ to go to the Capitol by the president.”

Accountability

Oh, I hate to do this, but I must. There is this thing called the Nuremberg defense, sometimes referred to as “Due Obedience.” A defendant might say “I was just following orders” or, in German, “Befehl ist Befehl (“an order is an order”). A member of the military, law enforcement, a firefighting force, or the civilian population might invoke the defense under the belief they should not be considered guilty of committing any actions that were ordered by a superior officer or official. Here’s a bit of historical reality to demonstrate the defense isn’t always successful. 199 defendants were tried at Nuremberg for Nazi war crimes. Out of the 161 who were convicted, 37 were sentenced to death. So, those who gave criminal orders suffered the consequences. Let’s see how things play out for Donald John Trump.

THE PURGE IS COMING

The Rot Trump Has Wrought

Why are things so bad? Well, anyone with half a brain will tell you that Donald Trump is the reason. I watched with intense interest as various Republicans spoke at Trump’s second impeachment hearing. Each of them admitted that what happened at the Capitol was bad and shouldn’t have happened. Some maintained that Trump should be held accountable for his language, but impeaching him would divide the nation. Oh, really?

Let me see if I understand. Someone inciting a riot and causing insurrection against the Congress of the United States, which also caused death, is a minor crime? What is this accountability you speak of my fellow Americans? Did you take the time to read the Constitution? Impeachment is the only way to hold a president accountable for high crimes and misdemeanors. You represent your voters, not some party boss or a broke-dick president.

President 2017 – 2021

I once had an exceptionally good lawyer counsel me about language I placed in an employment agreement. It would have given me the power to extract a pound of flesh had my worker violated certain rules. He asked me, “Would you want that rule used against yourself in the future?” The light bulb above my head flickered to life, “Gee, I never thought about it that way.” If Congressional members made a law that every president and vice president must disclose their tax returns 90 days before an election, it could affect them one day. That’s why we don’t have it. The members often serve themselves more than their constituents.

If reasonable people, even those with deep conservative pedigrees like Wyoming’s Liz Cheney and Kentucky’s Mitch McConnell, believe that Trump betrayed the oath of his office by urging a mob to march to the Capitol and wreak havoc, then what is driving the other Republicans to stand with Trump?

The purge is coming, because when something bad happens in America we all get sober and react quickly. Look at what happened after 9-11. Laws were passed, rewritten or ignored to get the bad guys. While that was successful, what was the cost? According to a Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report published in October 2007, the US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan cost taxpayers more than $2.4 trillion. Some experts believe that more than 507,000 people were killed in the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Let’s never forget that the umbrella name of that operation was Operation Enduring Freedom, and it was a total failure.

Operation Accountability isn’t going too well either. When discussion turns to the insurrection, Republicans quickly jump to the Black Lives Matter movement with its public protests and police brutality. Okay, the looters and shooters in those incidents are just as guilty as the marauders who invaded Washington, D.C. last week, but why compare two tragic events that are vastly different? False equivalencies are a preposterous way to debate any subject. Yeah, it’s terrible that the Romans killed Jesus Christ, but think about what his followers did to the rule of law. Donald Trump presents a “clear and present danger” to the Republic.

Had the January 6th attack been led by a foreign entity, Congress would have voted that very day to begin moving toward a solution. So, what resolution do we have for last week’s travesty? We’ve made a good start by finding and arresting the insurrectionists. Now, if only we knew where the leader of this STOP THE STEAL movement was hiding out we could prevent these radical, right-wing lunatics from doing more harm. There are those who say that impeaching, removing and arresting Donald Trump would make things worse. Great, let’s make it worse! Let’s flush the cockroaches and rats from the woodwork so we can see their faces.

Co-Conspirator U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik

Think of it this way. Remember back in school when a classmate acted out and the teacher asked who did it? All the other classmates became complicit by remaining silent. Then the teacher imposed a draconian punishment on the entire class, hoping the guilty kid would admit to being guilty. The purge is now underway in America, but too many self-serving assholes won’t stand up against Trump.

How might the purge unfold over time? First, more effective gun control laws will be enacted. Next, our own government will use the NSA to spy on all of us and use the Patriot Act to take away a little more of our freedom and due process. Every American should be mightily pissed off at these insurrectionists and work to cure the disease, not the symptom. Those Senators and Representatives who backed the ridiculous STOP THE STEAL campaign should be impeached. Now. They are modern day counterparts of Benedict Arnold and Aaron Burr and must be held accountable for their fraud and its result.

Ohio’s Representative Jim Jordan stood in the Capital and bragged about how great Donald Trump has been for America. He failed to mention the 382,000 people who died from COVID because of the failed policies and actions of the 45th President. He failed to mention the unrest in this country during the last eleven months that was mostly ignored by Trump. He is but one of the pitchmen for an immoral criminal who lied his way to the top of the Grand Old Party. A list of those elected officials who have been complicit apologists and deniers will be published.

This rotten fat man must be removed from office. Those who decide to “let it be” in a futile attempt to “heal the nation” will not please moderate Republicans and will certainly push the other side further away. Justice isn’t served by promoting a lie, seating a commission, or saying it’s too late to do something about what happened. Americans need action to see resolution, understand the facts and feel safe. Our immediate needs are total transparency and a purge of those who have pushed frauds, forgeries and fabrications. If our government is to move forward with a respect of freedom, we must hold this President accountable for his actions. Failing that, what will happen next time?

My heart is true. Donald John Trump should be charged, arrested, tried and convicted, earning the punishment the letter of the law stipulates: “Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office.” Trump has been impeached for a second time. Hold the trial… now!

REMEMBER THE ALAMO

Trump’s Final Road Trip

I couldn’t help noticing Donald John Trump’s schedule. After 1,141 days in office, with a grand total of 321 days playing golf, he’s headed to the southern border to brag about his 400 miles of almost finished wall. Mexico paid zero pesos for this unnecessary project and has zero interest in what will be the subject of this pathetic, broken man’s last speech. Trump doesn’t want to talk about the hundreds of thousands of American lives lost to COVID, the insurrection he caused at Capitol Hill on January 6th or the stark reality that in just a few days he will no longer be president.

The Real Alamo

Trump defended himself with his speech in Alamo, Texas yesterday. He won’t be at the actual historical structure, and that’s great news, but the irony of this location cannot be ignored. My father’s family came to America in the late 1600s. They landed at the James River settlement and then traveled through Dover, Delaware before settling in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where they became farmers.

Some of my lineage ended up in Tennessee and there is amazing family research that reveals that we are related to Davy Crockett. He died at age 49 during the Texas revolution at the Alamo in 1836. It’s ironic that our President will be in Texas bragging about his wall and its central aim of curtailing immigration or, as Trump puts it, keeping the “Bad hombres” from coming here to rape, murder and exploit us. Perhaps his stupid rhetoric and policies lowered the numbers of people who migrated north, but who really wants to enter the United States in the midst of a raging pandemic? Our southern neighbors are neither stupid nor killers; they are just immigrants looking for a better life.

Internet chatter has led the FBI to issue a warning about armed protests in all 50 state capitals and in Washington, D.C. during Joe Biden’s inauguration. Coupling that with the bloodshed at last week’s deadly siege at the U.S. Capitol convinces me I have been correct. The blog writings here haven’t been springing from a left-wing lunatic spreading fear about an unhinged president. I’m just a patriot who has been trying to warn you that Donald Trump is an evil, destructive, anti-democracy power-hungry demagogue.

Sometimes there’s a need to share the backstory of honorable people who fight for noble causes and creeds. Davy Crocket and the freedom fighters from Tennessee weren’t on a mission to free people in the “country” of Texas, they were involved in a deeply flawed and politically motivated land grab. Most of the people who moved to the Texas territory were colonizers eager to snatch up the land Mexico was handing out by the acre. To get the land, they were required to convert to Catholicism and sign up for Mexican citizenship. Few did what they agreed to, and instead hatched a plan to get rich growing cotton in the excellent Texas climate. Mexico had banned slavery, so the settlers turned to the US government to help them acquire slaves whose free labor would pave the way to their dreams of wealth.

The Mexicans fought bravely to save the land they felt was theirs, and Davy Crockett was killed in battle. The war cry “Remember the Alamo” was born and used to raise money for troops. The United States government annexed Texas in 1845 and the skirmish for slaves led to the Mexican American War, which lasted from 1846 to 1848.

Back then the newspapers of countries around the world destroyed the credibility of the United States because of its promotion of colonization and cheap land. With the insurrection at the Capital last week, we are once again losing the high-moral ground of democracy for the people, by the people. The citizens of the world plainly see our modern day version of Napoleon, but he’s taller, fatter, slimier and stupider. His name is Donald Trump.

This self-destructive man was told by his White House lawyer and the former Attorney General that he cannot and should not pardon himself. Sources say he replied, “If I can’t pardon myself, then no one will get pardoned.” At that, he picked his ball, went home and locked himself in his room.

The Walls of America

Trump’s obsession with walls provides a revealing, remarkable insight about the man. He doesn’t allow just anyone into his walled reality. Only those who come groveling and shoveling praise get past his locked door. Some have suggested to Trump that he doesn’t need expensive, ugly walls at the border, that fences would suffice. Ironically, we now have walls and fences around the White House, the Capital and the Supreme Court. Donald Trump has brought us an unwelcomed lockdown, and we will have more than 15,000 troops guarding the presidential transition next week.

The good news is that military presence will be a force ready to evict the son-of-a-bitch if he refuses to leave the White House. Today may be Donald Trump’s last official road trip, but no later than January 20th he will take his last trip on our dime to Mar-A-Lago, where he can melt back into the realm of “private citizen.” But please make no mistake, his dream of becoming today’s equivalent of Robert E. Lee is dashed. The National Guard knows what they are doing and will not allow any domestic terrorists into the halls of freedom.

After learning that several of the Capital Police are being investigated for aiding and abetting the terrorists, the thin blue line has faded a bit. What country is this? It’s time we sanitize all three branches of government. A great start will be expelling all the Senators and Representatives who tried to steal the election from the people.

Donald Trump is not an Aaron Burr, the man who killed Thomas Jefferson. He’s just an old, orange pumpkin who has TOTALLY FAILED as a president, a father and a person. At a bare minimum, he owes a deep apology to all of us. Short of that, LOCK HIM UP.

WE ARE LEMMINGS, HEAR US ROAR!

Trump’s Militia of Miscreants Failed Their Mission

Being “for something” doesn’t necessarily have an embedded notion of “being against” something else, but most folks tend to make things binary. Paired concepts such as right/wrong, yes/no, good/bad and start/finish help people see a big picture which often makes them feel safe. A world where things are either black or white might make one secure in their opinions, but life is far too complex for such simple choices. Some issues have so many shadings and gradations that reflective thought is needed to break the myopic spell.

While writing today’s blog, I found this article by Spencer Greenburg. He’s a software developer and think-tank type of guy who also has done some Ted Talks. In his article, Greenburg discusses nuanced thinking in detail. Mr. Greenburg’s post points out three types of dichotomies: 1. The Truth Binary, 2. The Goodness Binary and, 3. The Identification Binary.

The Truth Binary usually begins with someone saying, “I believe….” followed by their statement of “fact,” which is actually their opinion which could be either correct or incorrect.

The Goodness Binary is a simple declaration, such as saying Donald Trump is good or he’s bad. There’s no room for even the slightest objective reasoning as in, “Well, he did good things.” But, what does that mean? It’s just a blunt statement devoid of nuance and any wiggle room.

Then there’s the Identification Binary, in which an opinion is based on membership in a class. It’s the reason why many political candidates don’t declare a party affiliation on their posters. A voter learning of a candidate’s class affiliation might then judge them according to the good/bad lens through which they view the class, not the candidate.

I find it debilitating to engage with people who don’t fully understand words and their shades of meaning. When speaking with a neighbor, I called Trump a racist. My neighbor simply replied, “No, he’s not.” I took a deep breath and then backed out of the discussion. My neighbor holds membership in a class that cannot contemplate the outgoing president doing anything wrong. There was also another stumbling block; I didn’t trust the man’s definition of racism. How can two people possibly debate a subject without agreement on the terms? Teaching someone a nuanced concept of racism would take far too long in a casual conversation.

I am intrigued by the endless discourse of legal minds tapped to explain to the masses whether Donald John Trump is guilty, or not, of sedition by inciting the riot on Capitol Hill. The idea that anyone could possibly speak to the intent of another involves so much nuanced interpretation it seems silly to waste any breath on it. There are times when binary logic can’t help. For example, consider the question of why a person who says he is a “law and order” president urges people to break the law. Trump spoke the words that incited his rabid followers to riot, ending in the deaths of five people. How can this be right? Good/bad and right/wrong are binary choices, but there are times when only complex facts can discern a truthful reality.

Fighting For Trump

The president asked his sycophants to come. He addressed them, he pumped them up and then he urged them on to the Capitol, where bad things happened. Some say the rioters were egged on by Antifa members who had infiltrated the mob. Well, that declaration fails nuanced analysis; it’s just not true. How do I know this? Because the insurgents confessed on TV who they supported and why they committed their crimes.

The Trump Army that tried to take Capitol Hill miserably failed their mission, not because the police and guards eventually pushed them away but because their assignment was to stop the vote count. That didn’t happen. After taking a safety break, Congress roared back and did exactly what the mob tried to prevent them from doing. The insurgents were disappointed by Trump’s video saying their actions were wrong, and when Trump realized his words hurt the little lemmings he regretted recording his second video on the matter. That reveals his intent.

We saw the lemmings in action. They disrupted the government for a few hours, caused millions of dollars of damage and created a situation that ended in the deaths of five people. There’s no nuance, and the lemmings’ binary choice may net some of them five-plus years of jail time. The fat guy who endorsed and encouraged their illegal actions won’t be around to pardon them, nor should they be pardoned. They need to be punished. Yes, punish/pardon is a binary choice, but I’ve got some support for my opinion.

Mobs are bad. Not only do I believe this, but the pointed statement fits into the binary classifications of Truth, Goodness and Identification. Mobs generally believe and act with a singular brain driving them. That’s why they can build a pyramid (Egypt), kill the leader of a church (Joseph Smith) or break through guards (last week on Capitol Hill). When the one brain is wrong then the whole group is wrong, and shit inevitably happens. No one can argue against death being bad, especially those who have lost their lives and voices. I am speaking for them today.

It’s impossible for the lemmings to think clearly because of the grand brainwashing by Donald Trump with his endless lies and misinformation. The miniature misguided creatures don’t have the intellectual capacity for discernment. They “know” only what the man has told them. They haven’t taken the time to see the multiple sides of the issues that drive them because either they can’t, or they don’t want to. They live in a class of ignorance and disregard.

The bell rang and the class of 2020 left the school, but with no diplomas. The American carnage that Donald John Trump talked about during his early days in office has been realized in his miserable waning days. Rather than trying to please this base or that base, it’s time for us to figure out America’s true needs and then work together with laser focus to bring them into reality. The age, experience and wisdom of an older president is essential to truly make America great again. I’m ready for that, and so is Joe!

DUMPSTER FIRE IN AMERICA

Trump Must Go, But Who Can Make Him?

Social media is abuzz with harsh viewpoints and condemnation of Donald John Trump’s words and actions before, during and after the attack on the Capital Building. I found myself defending my damning social media rhetoric on this issue, but I will endure. After learning that one of the Capital Police guards has died from injuries he sustained during the melee, I am even more saddened at the carnage this failed presidency has brought to America. Over these pages during the last four years, I have shared my views about the abundance of fundamental flaws that Donald Trump brought to his presidency and why it was all going to end so tragically in this way.

The remedies available to immediately remove Trump from the White House are limited. Congress could go through a lengthy and painful impeachment trial, conviction and removal process, but it’s unclear if there is enough time for that. Vice President Mike Pence could invoke the 25th Amendment, but it’s not certain he could get a majority of the cabinet to go along with him. Besides, most insiders say that Pence would never do the right thing because he’s far more concerned about his political career than the good of the country.

There’s a possibility that a powerful Senator like Lindsey Graham could be the “Barry Goldwater” in this story. Remember that it was Goldwater who talked Richard Nixon into resigning in the aftermath of Watergate controversy. Should Graham march to the White House with an intent to talk Trump into resigning, I am quite sure the Donald would not listen. His mantra is loud and clear, “I am right and anyone who disagrees with me is the enemy.”

If we should learn that Trump kept security from going to the Capital while the riots were happening, he should stand trial for sedition. If convicted, the full force of the law should come down on him. He bears responsibility for the deaths that took place on January 6, 2021 and I can see the possibility of a murder rap being added to the case against him.

As of this writing, it appears that the House of Representatives is going to impeach Trump, again. It would be far better for America, however, if he just resigned and strolled toward Marine One so he could fly away. We can sort out his voluminous legal problems later, but for right now the madness of this hideous human being should end.

There is nothing more urgent right now than getting rid of Donald Trump so we can begin the healing. Yes, he has only two weeks to go, but look at the damage the man did on a single day. I’ll keep it short today and conclude with a few Trump punishments I would like to see:

  1. Trump should be charged for inciting a riot and being an accessory to murder. He procured space to address the protestors, counselled them, encouraged them and urged them to insurrection. He’s as guilty as they are.
  2. The lease for the old Washington D.C. Post Office building, which is now the Trump Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue, should be terminated and the government should auction off the rights to a reputable hotelier.
  3. Trump should be banned from any public office for life. We’ll deal with his kids later.
  4. Trump needs to release his tax returns to the public and the incoming Attorney General should open a federal investigation into his business activities while the states proceed with their investigations.
  5. Trump should be made to personally pay the cost of repairing and fortifying the Capital.
The War is Over

America, it’s time for you to decide. Are you with this man or against him? Ask yourself this simple question, is America more important than Donald Trump? If yes, burn those Trump flags that hang in your garage. Pull up those Trump signs from your lawn and toss them in the dumpster. Donald Trump lost the election and ruined America. Face it, you must either stand with our great country in its time of need or be part of the problem. If you supported him, admit you were wrong. It’s time for all of us to move on.

God Bless America, and when you hear me say that please understand it certainly must be a bad time.

I posted this on my House Representative’s local office door:

WE WARNED YOU, AGAIN AND AGAIN

Trump Was and Is Bad for America

Yesterday brought an incredible moment in American history. The process and strength of our democracy was challenged, and we survived. Well, most of us did. Unfortunately, four people died during the insurrection and attack on our Capitol. This reminds me of what happened at Kent State University when the same number of people were shot down by the Ohio National Guard, motivating the Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young song, Ohio.

It was the public calls to action by the Commander in Chief of the United States that led to these deplorable demonstrations yesterday. Numerous tweets from the account @RealDonaldTrump urged his “followers” to come to Washington and demonstrate against the Electoral College vote certification by Congress. It was a truly desperate attempt to subvert the will of the American people.

Then, with tens of thousands of rabid supporters on the green for their permitted protest, Donald Trump urged his sycophants to march to the Capital and stop the count of the electoral votes. And they did. Trump knew what he was doing, but failed to comprehend the disaster that would soon unfold. Fool.

Now we face a constitutional crisis beyond anything we could have ever imagined. Several months ago, when people were peacefully demonstrating in support of civil rights and Black Lives Matter, Donald Trump ordered the Attorney General to get involved. A group of unmarked government agents armed with tear gas swooped in and forcefully removed the law-abiding citizens so Trump could walk to a church and hold his Bible photo opportunity. Why was there no such effective force working to save the Capital yesterday?

There will be hearings and investigations, but the immediate focus should fall on invoking the 25th Amendment. If you are unaware or hazy, here’s what it’s all about.

Trump must be removed from office because he clearly demonstrated his lack of respect for our government and its laws, and he engaged in seditious behavior. What exactly is sedition? It occurs when someone’s conduct or speech incites people to rebel against the authority of a state. What is the punishment? Sedition is a serious felony punishable by fines and up to twenty years in prison for inciting revolt or violence against a lawful authority with the goal of destroying or overthrowing it.

So, the 25th Amendment is not nearly as bad as other punishment Donald John Trump could face. Most of us believe it would be great for America if he was stripped of power and escorted from the White House. He could then go stay at one of his garish hotels on his own dime to wait for his trial.

It’s time for a moment of silence and then a real loud scream. We have faced the reality of who we are as a people. We have many diverse views, but those make us better. US citizens may freely use the power of the First Amendment by raising their differing opinions and voices, but they must never abuse that privilege.

I was a late 1960s protester, totally against the war in Vietnam, when I was threatened with a large wooden baton wielded by an even larger Pittsburgh Police officer. He raised the club above my head and said, “If you step off that curb, I’m going to smash your f%!#ing skull!” Probably an anatomy major, but I obeyed. Our protests created change; they ended a corrupt and unjust war. Yesterday, the protesters became rioters then looters, but they got the exact opposite of what they wanted. The final analysis will show millions of people turned against an impaired leader to create temporary bipartisan sanity. But at what cost?

Those who serve in Congress and supported and distorted the facts for Trump should be censured and shunned. They should NOT be allowed to sit on ANY committee. They have made America weaker.

More than anything, yesterday’s events proved to me that these are important times for our country, and not all that happened was bad. Yes, four people died, and that will be investigated, but what we saw is the ultimate manifestation of the abuse of power. It’s the same thing my father fought against in Europe during World War II. Had he been there yesterday I am sure he would have been shouting at the TV, “JUST SHOOT THEM!” It’s similar to what he said to me right after the Kent State killings, “They deserved it!” Demonstration is one thing, but any person attacking the government becomes a traitor in many people’s eyes.

I have been banned from Twitter for life for complaining about TRUMP and directly confronting those who lied for him, I humbly and politely ask that you send a direct message to @jack, Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey, and demand he remove @RealDonaldTrump from the platform and ban him for life. REALLY, I got banned for saying his press secretary was a bimbo, but Donald Trump urged people to engage in insurrection which caused violence and death! BAN TRUMP FOR LIFE!  Do it for America!

The Trump Mob

After yesterday’s tragic events, the Dow Jones rose above 31,000 today. This could be an indicator that removing a bad president from our government will be good for everyone. Donald Trump is an unstable loser lacking the moral fiber to properly lead this country. I can imagine him flying away to some country without extradition to escape prosecution. Will retribution for what he has done follow him there, or will he once again dig into his manipulative bag of tricks to con others?

Wake up America! it’s time to rebuild, reform and remodel. Joe and Kamala have their work cut out for them, but I know they have the support and skill to stitch the diverse pieces of America into one solid, unified country. Our four-year national nightmare is finally over.

This book will show you how yesterday HAPPENED:

A MOB IS A NOT A CONSTITUENCY

Trump’s Mythical Math Means Nothing

We should all respect people who have a gift of working with numbers, math and equations. Understanding the solar system led us to exploring the world. Knowledge of math helped us comprehend the human body and create chemistry to heal the sick. Complex equations gave us the wings to fly to the moon. While all the brainiacs in high school were tackling algebra and trig, I was playing sports and focused on abstract thought. At least that is what my tests told me.

This week in Georgia we’ve learned that for all the things Donald Trump understands about manipulating people he knows nothing about math. I don’t mean reading a spreadsheet or making money; I’m talking about the reality of science. The college course is named Political Science, not Political Opinion. And, as they say, opinions are like… well, you know.

The more we hear of that shakedown phone call Donald John Trump made to Georgia’s Secretary of State, the more we realize his disconnection from reality. He continues to claim the presidential election was rigged. I say prove it or shut the fuck up.

For hundreds of years, powerful white men in this country have suppressed the votes of women, African Americans and ethnic minorities. When US Senate leader Mitch McConnell blocks legislation he doesn’t personally or politically like, he’s just the latest white man in power putting his knee on the necks of those who cannot fight back.

We should heed the advice in Bob Dylan’s song The Times They Are A-Changin:

Come gather ’round, people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You’ll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth savin’
Then you better start swimmin’
Or you’ll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin’

Bob Dylan

Bulbous, overweight Donnie is sinking like a stone, while the results of the Georgia runoff Senate election are showing us the pure realities of science and math. First, why is Georgia even having a runoff election? Isn’t every office in the land decided by popular vote? This is where history gets rich. Because multiple white candidates ran for Georgia’s House of Representatives, Senate and other offices, over time each candidate netted a smaller percentage of the vote. This wasn’t a big problem until a Black candidate got a larger percentage of the popular vote and won. White men then decided that an African American couldn’t just walk in there with the most votes to win, so they stipulated a winner must get 50% or more of the vote. Failing that, a forced runoff election of the top two vote getters would determine the winner. Some think this is a good idea, and it might have some merit if the original intent wasn’t thwarting minority representation. Viewed in that light, it’s downright racist!

While the cult followers and sycophants in the US Senate attempt to delay the inevitable Joe Biden presidency, they have no clue that the times they are a-changin’. Now freed from voter suppression, American minority groups have become a powerful voice. Women have also become a force in the voting booth, especially those in the suburbs who are not only managing a family, sometimes alone, but also busting it in the workplace to keep things together. Today’s voters are more informed and less likely to fall for unworkable solutions built on hyperbole or blatant fear mongering.

The results of this week’s runoff election in Georgia reveal a lesson about the soul of America. We aren’t become whiter. No, we are becoming more of that melting pot we speak of so romantically. When it looked like Bernie Sanders was gaining ground in the 2016 primaries, someone asked me how he would do in North Carolina. I simply said, “He’ll lose.” When the person probed me, I explained that his Jewish heritage was being used against him. The person was offended by my observation, but the guy never lived in the south. I would be remiss if I didn’t say, the south, it is a-changin.’

When African American candidate Stacey Abrams, who has what some think is a “Jewish name,” ran for Governor of Georgia, she made a big deal about voter suppression. Because she lost, some thought her “angry Black woman” complaining was a case of sour grapes. Time has a way of bringing slime to the top of the swamp, and people want to rid themselves of it. Minorities do better when their votes are not suppressed. It’s just science and math.

A wise old man once told me that the faces in Washington would look much different if more people voted. Because women vote, more are elected these days. People of all walks of life and persuasion now take office, and soon we will have the first African American Senator from Georgia. Yes, there will be calls for a recount and Kelly Loeffler will roll out the Trumpean playbook by claiming dead people voted and the election was rigged, but in reality, the people have spoken. The truth is Ms. Loeffler is not likeable and everyone in Georgia knows she is a grifter.

The other seat for Congress is still too close to call, but this speaks to the fact that if you don’t show up you will appear to not really want the job. It’s amazing to me that people don’t learn from history. There once was a woman named Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She hailed from the Bronx borough in New York and decided to run for Congress. Her opponent was Joe Crowley, a veteran Democrat, who took his standing for granted. Mr. Crowley didn’t take this “young girl” seriously and he refused to debate her on TV. The result? Well, as they say, Crowley was successfully “primaried” and A.O.C. won the 2016 general election. At 29 years of age, she became the youngest woman ever to serve in the United States Congress.

Ossoff & Warnock

When I saw the empty podium during the Ossoff – Purdue debates in Georgia, it became clear to me that David Purdue is a total political dolt. Should Jon Ossoff win the other Georgia Senate seat, it will be because Purdue didn’t present any new ideas. He’s a total Trump dummy, and if you look closely you will see a tiny presidential hand rammed straight up his ass.

We now face the possibility that Mitch McConnell will no longer be the “grim reaper” who stands in the way of Congress getting things done. Isn’t that the real problem in America? Nothing good has happened in the last four years. Nothing.

Donald John Trump told the masses it was okay to be dumb and ignore science, and now we have more than 358,000 people dead. Trump is no smarter than the bards and blowhards of the 1500s. We have been arguing so long we can no longer see that we are killing ourselves. I know, I know, it’s just one election, but somewhere in the songs of our land we may find answers:

Come senators, congressmen, please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway, don’t block up the hall
For he who gets hurt will be he who has stalled
The battle that’s ragin’ shakes windows and walls
For the times they are a-changin!’

HE BROKE THE LAW

Trump’s Self-Pardon Parlay

Because he was not removed from office during his impeachment proceedings, Donald Trump has developed an inflated view about his power. This Includes a belief that he can grant himself a pardon. I’m sure he’ll try.  It’s the kind of doubling down a drunk gambler does in desperation. The greed and excitement of going all in only looks smart when there’s a winning outcome. If Trump loses the battle of self-pardon in the Supreme Court, he will be the target of endless litigation and charges. This man’s mad acts have made America vindictive and about 60% of the folks in the country will want their pound of flesh.

Brad Raffensperger

By now, most Americans have heard the damaging excerpts from the conversation between President Donald Trump and Georgia’s Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger. With all the hubbub surrounding the legitimacy of the 2020 election, more people than ever understand the responsibilities of our secretaries of state (SOS). It’s ironic that the SOS acronym also means Save Our Ship, the distress call of the high seas.

The work of our state secretaries is easily seen because it involves the public interest. Here is an example of the investigative results by Georgia’s SOS office. These people do good work, and they should be respected unless they are suppressing the vote, which sometimes happen when they navigate the rough waters between partisan desires and public duty. Some pilot that craft well, while others are just as bad as those who desire to control them.

My hats off to Raffensperger for his honor, honesty and valor during the horrendous misuse of power Donald Trump and his enablers wielded on that phone call. The obstruction of justice and attempted law breaking is embarrassing for America and a dark stain on Democracy itself. As we hear legal experts pontificate and explain whether this man in the White House broke the law, some answer by saying a president cannot be indicted while in office. Yes, I get that, but it doesn’t answer the question if Trump’s behavior was illegal. Had anyone else made a phone call like Trump’s they would have been charged. Ask Rod Blagojevich, who was convicted of attempting to sell a Senate seat and sent to prison. By the way, he owes his freedom to Donald Trump, the friend who pardoned him.

That brings us to whether Trump will pardon himself. Will he take the risk of executing a flawed and thin authority of self-pardon? Maybe he will pull a fast one by excluding himself from a bunch of new pardons, then resigning with a diabolical plot in place. After the Chief Justice swears in Mike Pence as the new president, Pence would then pardon Trump. Is such a plan viable? It would most certainly bring political destruction and death to Pence. Is such ass kissing worth it Mikey?

Trump’s Last Stand

Trying to parlay power into his next life would be a giant risk for Donald Trump. He’s got little credibility with anyone except the tyrants and dictators who rule some other countries. Even Israel, who appears to kowtow to him, would reject any attempt on his part to move there. Their hardcore political partisans are worse than anything we have in the US. In the bitter end, when banks and lenders come knocking on Trump’s door to collect on their loans, he’s going to have to pay up. The regulatory agencies in many countries are wise to the con and will be opening major inquiries into their corporations. For example, we’ll probably see Germany launch a major investigation into Deutsche Bank. There is a reason for this kind of extreme caution and oversight, it’s called money laundering.

So, Trump faces a serious conundrum. If he resigns, he will seem weak and guilty to his loyal followers. If he stays in office until January 20th, he could lose his chance of pardon. If he finds out that his “self-pardon” ruse didn’t work, he will have to continue his pattern of lies and lawsuits to avoid the inevitable, being charged and prosecuted. Donald believes he never does anything wrong and, in his tiny mind, can’t possibly think that his actions are above the law.

Trump’s weekend phone call was illuminating because it showed, once again, what Michael Cohen and James Comey have said about the Donald. Like a mafia boss, he never directly says what he’s asking. It’s coyly done with intimidation and a slight nudge and wink. He never said, “You need to say I got more votes.” His words were, “What I need…” leaving the listener to intuit his actual meaning. When Trump said that he “won the election,” Raffensperger swatted back with a polite, “Your numbers are not correct.” Someone with less balance and political savvy would have retorted to Trump’s allegation that their action is criminal by asking, “Are you threatening me?” To the credit of the Georgia officials, they didn’t escalate the matter in that way. Smart.

“It’s like Donald Corleone,” Howard Stern

When I was a young man in Pittsburgh, I had a friend who ran the jewelry store where number slips for the local boss were collected. One night, he, I and a group of others went to a restaurant in the East Liberty section of town called, Win, Place and Show. When our group of partiers wanted to get another round of drinks, the waiter replied, “Okay, is this one check?” Being the jerk in the group, I barked, “How about one more drink for the road?” The waiter then peered at my jeweler buddy and quietly said, “It’s time.” After we made our way to the parking lot, I saw five black limos with their motors running in the back. I asked my friend what this was all about, and he apologized saying he forgot it was the night for the weekly meeting of the mob families. I froze.

This encounter taught me two things. One, actions can be easily provoked and, two, even though a place serves great food one must never assume the establishment believes that the customer is always right. I survived my naivete to write this blog and eat Italian food.

Should the time come when Donald John Trump announces that he will pardon himself for acts during his presidency, we must all ask these questions. What are the next steps and who will launch the lawsuit to erase this pardon? Should Trump attempt to pardon himself for all things during his presidency, then someone needs to open that can of worms and address each of the slimy lies. After all is said and done, the Donald will slink away to Florida, watch TV and throw continuous tweet-shoes at the screen, becoming a caricature of himself. As he ages and his bloated face slowly melts into long wrinkles and sagging jowls, people will walk away from him. He’s certainly the worst president in my lifetime, and that’s a seventy-plus years run.

There are times lawyers criticize me for making a statement they consider to be my “opinion.” Well, there are three reasons beyond my opinions about why I believe Trump broke the law during his call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. First, there is a law that says such behavior is illegal. Next, the officials in Georgia knew that Donald was attempting to intimidate them, so they recorded the call and then released it to the press. It doesn’t matter what Trump says about his intent. The people on the other end of the call believed he was asking them to commit fraud.

Finally, there’s this. Trump attempted that call 18 times, obsessing over his need to have that conversation. He had a plan to overturn the election and was antsy to press the deceit. It’s like a three-strikes and your out legal matter. Donald Trump is guilty of violating the fundamental tenets of the law: “…prohibits any person, in an election for federal office, from defrauding or attempting to defraud the residents of a state of a fair election through casting or tabulating ballots that the offender knows are materially false or fraudulent under state law.” This isn’t obstruction of justice, it’s a clear case of soliciting and encouraging fraud. Case closed.

THE GREAT CONUNDRUM

Clearing Trump’s Debris Field

I was living in Washington, D.C. when Jimmy Carter was elected president. Right after his win, I began seeing many Georgia license plates on the cars around town. It was an amazing, visual representation of the changing of the guard in the nation’s capital.

I am so curious about what will take place at the White House on January 20, 2021. Traditionally, the outgoing president and first lady host the president-elect and their spouse before going to the Capital together for the swearing in ceremony. The attendees usually include the vice president, members of Congress, Supreme Court justices, high-ranking military officers, former presidents, living Medal of Honor recipients, and other dignitaries. Only five former outgoing presidents have chosen not to attend the ceremony, and that list will likely grow by one this year. I can’t imagine Donald John Trump allowing himself to be seen in such a defeatist setting.

JFK, 1960

Trump would much rather have the title “former president” rather than “loser” or “one term president.” Still clutching the myth that he won the election, I have a feeling he will hold a rally during the inauguration, just to pee in the punch bowl. He’s never shown respect for America, democracy or our Constitution, and I’ll go out on a limb by saying he has no respect for the Holy Bible on which he laid his hand four years ago. However, maybe I should temper myself and allow a person without sin to throw the first stone.

Trump’s debris field is extensive. Here are some big picture items. First, let’s consider executive orders and the implications of each. To date, Trump has signed 203 orders. The new administration will have to review each one to determine if it can be unplugged by a new executive order, and how that might affect process and policy. Big job.

Next, we need to unravel the disastrous environmental changes and terminate agreements that upheaved areas such as the US-Mexico border. We must halt the destruction of federal lands and reverse the ridiculous Trump policies that disregarded climate change initiatives and increased pollution. There is nothing more important than our environment.

The wealth inequalities in our country have been skewed by Trump’s non-middle class tax cuts that gave more money to the upper 20% and cheated the lower 80% out of a better life. The deficit the Donald created with his foolish gift to corporate America must be reworked to get more tax dollars into the Treasury to pay for the COVID disaster. Yes, I’ll say it again. The pandemic’s damaging impact would have been must less if only the Trump administration had effectively managed it.

Unlike many others, I am not jacked up on the theory that more conservative judges means less democracy. Our judges looked directly through the eyes of justice when deciding the more than sixty lawsuits brought by Donald Trump in his feeble attempt to overturn the election that Joe Biden fairly won. Now they might overreach in the future on healthcare or pro-choice issues, but basic law precepts require a plaintiff to prove their case using facts, not fantasies. Yes, a new president will appoint judges of their choice, but the net effect will be a stronger judicial.

The biggest job Joe Biden and his team will face is using words and acts to restore confidence in our basic institutions. We must believe in the FBI, ATF and Homeland Security so that we don’t have to fear those miscreants who want to bomb and shoot us. We need to believe in the CDC, WHO and the National Institute of Health and rely on their medical guidance.

It’s time to end this hyper transactional attitude that has dragged down America these past four years. Productive and progressive life cannot be based on an endless “quid-pro-quo stream” in which decisions are based on the personal gain of the president rather that appropriate action for the masses. We need to stop the Trump minions from outrageous and idiotic acts such as placing the entire country of Cuba on a terrorist list. Policies like that are more vindicative that logical. Trump lost a past bid for a hotel-casino in Havana, and that is the reason he pushes normalization away from Cuba.

We must educate the masses about many complex concepts and challenging conundrums. Take China, for example. Our outgoing President has blathered on about China’s trade imbalance and theft of American intellectual property, but there are much deeper and darker problems there. The Chinese government is rounding up people of certain religions and cultures and making them work in labor camps. Human rights issues such as these must be confronted, but it’s complicated. We rely on China for their production lines and products and we will suffer for years without a proper peace treaty that reconciles their governmental overreach with our needs.

The most important goal of our new government is facing the COVID crisis and overcoming institutional inertia so we can start to make progress in fighting the virus. We must get 75% of the population vaccinated and bring forth a viable healthcare system for America’s future. We were totally unprepared for a global pandemic and its fallout will linger for a decade or more. Trump spent so much time, so many words, spreading misinformation about Obamacare that people have no idea how a more robust national health plan would have saved hundreds of thousands of lives. It’s time to be smarter and sharper. An effective health system is needed to keep our workers healthy and, oh yeah, working.

I don’t care what Donald Trump will do when he leaves Washington. If he starts a cable network, I won’t be watching. If he tries to force his kids on the Republican party of Florida, good luck with that. Here’s my big closer. We need more long-term planning and less government-by-tweeting. I don’t need a daily diatribe of the top guy’s grievances; I would much rather know what challenges we face and which improvements we made today. Where are we going and how are we going to get there? Over time, the answers to these daily questions will make America great again. Donald Trump is the conundrum. Ironic and simple, isn’t it?

ALL THE KINGS HORSES…

Trumpty-Dumpty Sat on a Wall

Trump time in America has been more cartoonish and Shakespearean than real. It reminds me of the old, storied nursey rhyme named “Humpty Dumpty” which was the nickname of a large cannon used during the English civil wars of 1642-1645. The cannon was placed atop a wall by Scottish fighters who were protesting England’s governance. A strategic shot from a Parliamentary cannon destroyed the wall beneath Humpty Dumpty. The cannon tumbled to the ground and gave us this great yarn, “Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall, All the king’s horses and all the king’s men, Couldn’t put Humpty together again.”

Now that you know the rhyme is about a cannon and not a king it may make more sense. King Donald John Trump has been a loud and overly powerful weapon against democracy and lots of people have been shooting at him over the last four years. The only shell that landed anywhere near to the old, fat man was his impeachment, but that proved to be mostly a dud. It hardly phased him.

Trump’s resistance tried to destroy the king by hitting underneath him. While he kept saying he was a “stable genius,” his presidential footing was never firm. Trump broke the rules and then complained endlessly about how poorly he was treated. The final act of this drama has our spoiled brat president playing the martyr card right to the very end. He told us he couldn’t possibly lose to Joe Biden unless the election was rigged against him. Well, Donald, Joe got more votes, and you are the big loser.

The grand fall took place on November 3, 2020, and most of his power was obliterated as he dramatically tumbled to the ground with tens of thousands of lies swirling about him. He broke into many pieces, maybe as many as eight million, and all the people who could have helped put him back together are long gone. Trump is surrounded by lowlifes and grifters who would rather echo his lies than protect our democracy and Constitution. We’re all sick from four years of suffering this wretched egg allergy. It’s rotten and it stinks.

We have seen the worst from this President. Since Richard Nixon, we’ve had mostly normal and sometimes even boring presidents, but Trump takes the cake. He gets the extra scoop of ice cream because he believes the world owes him everything, when in fact most of the planet just laugh at him. Even the people he thinks are cool, like Putin, are now worried because Trump is fading away. Donald’s own actions and words show just how much our “great” leader was manipulated by Vladimir and others.

The stunt our President pulled last week by not signing the bill to keep the government running, to release state vaccine distribution funds and to provide Americans some financial relief from the pandemic was nothing short of demonic. His game playing went beyond the pale, a reference originating in 14th century Ireland which means going far beyond the boundaries of acceptable behavior.

Our media outlets have said various things about Trump’s behavior, but I salute Rupert Murdoch’s New York Post for soundly slapping the President. Their front-page editorial was straightforward, honest and clearly designed to sway the master liar’s game plan. “Give it up, Mr. President — for your sake and the nation’s” was a direct and hard-hitting headline, and it holds some water. After all, no matter what Boy Donnie says we all know he craves the respect of New Yorkers.

It’s not that the New York Post wants to stomp on the remains of Trumpty-Dumpty. It’s clear that his pieces cannot be glued back into any sort of decent human form in the next 22 days. The Post needs to get real! Trump is still going to pardon everyone he thinks could testify against him, could help him make money or has something on him — like photos or stories. Should President Donald Trump pardon Ghislaine Maxwell before he leaves office, I will take that as an admission of his guilt. Does Ms. Maxwell know something about Trump that could destroy him? Okay, maybe that sounds like a conspiracy theory, but it’s out there.

Jared Kushner got what he wanted, a pardon for his father. I guess that was more important to him than “peace in the Middle East,” and I’m sure he will counsel Trump about other lowlifes to set free. There truly are many lessons to be learned from this presidency, but how does an old nursery rhyme play into the Trump tale?

Humpty Dumpty is a story of risk, failure and perseverance. Consider Mr. Dumpty to be an anthropomorphic egg who tried to defy the odds but was met with disastrous results. Remember, Humpty Dumpty was the big cannon deployed by the rebel troops in their quest to overthrow the British government and restore a Scottish king to the throne. By 1645 the Scots were defeated, and then all holy hell came down upon my Scottish ancestors. The Brits even banned the tartan.

There are rich analogies between Humpty and Trumpty. Trump’s mother is Scottish, and according to Mary L. Trump’s book and recollections, Donald was raised to be the “chosen one.” This egg-shaped, belligerent, blowhard cannon, sitting on the wall with his little crown above his big fat shell, believed he could resist any attack with the shield of his next big lie. He was wrong. And we must never forget that whether it’s neo-Nazis, Confederate statues or election fraud myths, Trump is always on the side of losers.

Donald Trump’s logic and lies get more and more unreasonable and ridiculous because they are motivated by his inability to deal with either being criticized or losing. Most folks realize that he cannot apologize for anything, even when he knows he has royally fucked up. That’s the textbook summary of a pathological liar. Hey, look it up.

The Biden Embrace

Most of what Donald Trump says now means absolutely nothing. I watched Joe Biden on TV last night and empathized with those in Nashville and so many others who have suffered incredibly tragic losses during these holidays. The commentator followed up by saying, “President Trump has yet to comment on the Nashville explosion.” I looked at the TV and said, “I don’t need Trump to comment, I have already heard from my new president.” Biden is already assuming the role he’s has prepared for his entire life. He’ll know what to do. He’s already broken the Humpty Trumpty egg. Now it’s time to have some fun and fry the omelet.
