ROUND UP ALL THE TRANSGENDERS

Trump Draws Rainbow Line in the Sand

The President of the United States proclaimed on Twitter today (7-26-2017) that he has ruled on whether transgender people can serve their country. Here is what he said: “After consultation with my generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail.”

Paul Callan, a legal analyst for CNN, has coined the term “tweet-law” for the President’s phone blasts that greatly affect the laws and policies of the government. Some reporters said right after the missive from our great Orange Leader was posted that the Pentagon (the Generals) had no idea a decision of this magnitude had been made. When the President declares that transgender people are some great “disruption” to military life he sentences them to a life of thinking they are somehow, less human, less valuable and less a citizen of this great land.

In Robert Sapolsky’s fabulous book, “Behave: The Biology of Humans at Our Best and Worst”, he points out that when a high-status rat in a pack gets electric shocks that produces stress, he proceeds to attack lessor status rats by biting them. That seems to relieve their stress. Could the President’s decree about transgender people serving in the military be simply his way of inflicting pain on a class of people he feels beneath him? According to his recent tweets, he is outwardly stressed. He’s condemning his own team.

The President’s “New Rule” will create the challenging task that will involve “asking and telling” about an enlistee’s sexual orientation. And then, if a soldier stands tall in his or her skin, they will be fired? Really, you are going to send them away without a pension, without pay or record because of their sexual orientation? Is that American?

It’s not the cost of surgery that the government thinks it might have to pay, it’s the idea that somehow these people are disruptive in some way. Disruption in the military isn’t allowed. What is this President thinking? Oh, yeah, forgot, he doesn’t think.

This is all part of the Pence Effect driven by Mike’s overzealous, religious “grounding” that is basically discrimination justified by Leviticus 18:22, which is tantamount to someone suggesting Sharia Law be used to create U.S. law. Mike Pence and many evangelicals cannot deal with the reality that we should not discriminate against people.

The law prohibits employers from discriminating against applicants and employees on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, and national origin (including membership in a Native American tribe). It is true that around two dozen states still don’t have anti-discrimination laws protecting individuals from being discriminated against on the basis of their sexual orientation. But, the President just blew the candle out on this issue.

Perhaps Congress can step up and sort this out, but Trump will never get votes from the LGBT community again. On June 1, 2017 Ivanka Trump tweeted: “I am proud to support my LGBTQ friends and the LGBTQ Americans who have made immense contributions to our society and economy.” It’s all part of the plan to make the liberals have hope, while that great Beach Boys song comes to mind, “And she’ll have fun, fun, fun ‘Til her daddy takes the T-bird away.”

Daddy is calculating everything for purposes of enriching himself or enhancing his image rather than being the President for all people. He’s a racist, a xenophobe, a homophobe and his transphobia was brightly exposed today with his mindless and insensitive tweet. He’s a bully, or to put this into the perspective of a neurobiologist, he’s an alpha male rat who has been shocked by the lack of love from Congress, the Attorney General and the press. His teeth aren’t as sharp as they were in business with his gang of lawyers and liars around him. When he bites and people bleed and someone points out his insensitivity, he replies, “I’m President and you aren’t!”

What a shallow and intolerable person. Donald J. Trump is America’s #1 problem. I wonder who will solve him? He can keep his twitter account, but we want the White House back.

Trump Transitions to Discrimination

When Mike Pence, then Governor of Indiana, signed that state’s ‘religious freedom’ bill, he cemented his name on the short list of those politicians who would be considered for Trump’s Vice President.

The Republicans in the Indiana state government kept saying that this bill would not restrict the freedoms and liberties of the LGBTQ community, but it was certainly a way for businesses to use their religious viewpoint to restrict those who may not share their “normal” views on gender.

Within days, Pence was challenged and backed down, “After much reflection and in consultation with leadership in the General Assembly, I’ve come to the conclusion that it would be helpful to move legislation this week that makes it clear that this law does not give businesses a right to deny services to anyone.”

Proving that Pence, an astute politician, wasn’t going to let valuable dollars from major national events leave his state, he moderated. And now, we find another move to thwart the rights of a certain “kind” of person in America.

Trump revoked federal guidelines specifying that transgender students have the right to use public school restrooms that match their gender identity. Interestingly enough, his administration released the letter after the national newscasts were put to bed, but right before the Trump teams appears at the CPAC Meetings.

Obama, while in office, cited Title IX as the basis for why schools had to provide services, protection and restrooms for transgender humans.

Title IX says, “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

One of things that the new Attorney General Jeff Sessions worries about is the difference between the words ‘sex’ and ‘gender’ and whether the title alone could make the Obama rule stick. And now we get to play an interesting little game of what words mean.

Gender means, the state of being male or female (typically used with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones) and Sex means either of the two main categories (male and female) into which humans and many other living things are divided on the basis of their reproductive functions.

So, if you thought Roe v. Wade was in jeopardy, you were right. Those who want to repeal Roe v. Wade are the same people pushing the “agenda” that tries to force LGBTQ people to kowtow to those meanings rather than reality. Lawmakers should focus on the word, “typically” because as we have learned, there is nothing typical about this situation. Typically means, “In most cases” and that does leave the door open to this might not be “in all cases.”

If the government gets to control what you do within your own gender-self view, could they then demand that you NOT look like the gender of your choice? It’s not a far reach to be nervous that those in power could decide what every woman, or man, does with her or his own body? As in repeal of Roe v. Wade, as an example.

Gay people are already in your restrooms Republicans. You just might not know which ones of YOU are Gay. And Lesbians use women’s rooms, because of how they view themselves, not because of any law. And Bi-Sexual people do what they want, not because of Title IX, but because they are free to be who they want to be.

NPR says there are as many as 1.4 million Americans who consider themselves Transgender. And if the United States doesn’t take a stand for all citizens, then we might as well burn the United States Declaration of Independence. All men are created equal, even when they may not want to be men, or women. Pretty clear to any thinking American, that Trump, Pence and Sessions are living in 1952.
