SPECIAL COUNSEL LANDS FISH

Trump’s Denials Seem So Nixon-like

There have been moments in time when corruption bubbles up from the swamp and people’s reputations become soiled forever. The Russian Probe has produced two arrests, but what else looms in the future?

In the past, we had the Teapot Dome Scandal, a bribery incident from 1921 to 1922, during President Warren G. Harding’s administration. Secretary of the Interior Albert Bacon Fall did a deal for Navy petroleum reserves at Teapot Dome in Wyoming and two locations in California for private oil companies at low rates without competitive bidding.

This would be like someone giving a $300 million no-bid contract to a new company with only two employees located in the state of the Secretary of the Interior to repair the electrical grid in Puerto Rico. While the headlines screamed corruption, Secretary Zinke attacked the “dishonest media” for asking questions about a shady Whitefish Energy contract. Really? The company is based in the same small town that Ryan Zinke calls home and we are to believe there wasn’t anything fishy?

We had Watergate, which Richard Nixon claimed was a “witch-hunt” – does that sound familiar? That scandal was described by the White House as a third-rate burglary, but morphed into the reality that the President of the United States was involved in a cover-up. Nixon was forced to resign by his own party days before he was to be impeached.

Then we had the Iran-Contra Affair that occurred during the Ronald Reagan administration. This was a complicated scheme to supply weapons to Iran, which then was an enemy of the US, in hopes of securing the release of American hostages held in Lebanon by Hezbollah terrorists loyal to the Ayatollah Khomeini, Iran’s leader. Reagan’s men then took millions of dollars from the weapons sale and routed them, along with guns, to the right-wing “Contra” guerrillas in Nicaragua. In 1986, Lebanese magazine Ash-Shiraa published a series of articles that exposed the weapons-for-hostages deal. I guess they were the “dishonesty media.”

There were almost a dozen people charged for their involvement in Iran-Contra, from the Secretary of Defense, the National Security Adviser, Secretary of State people to CIA personnel. All were convicted for their involvement or perjury. They were all pardoned by George H.W. Bush. And this is the way our government works.

Today, the former manager of Donald Trump’s campaign, Paul Manafort, and his associate, Rick Gates, have been charged with a 12-count indictment that says they conspired to defraud the United States with money laundering activities, illegal tax schemes and foreign lobbying deeds. In short, they had more than $75 million flow through offshore accounts and managed to, according the indictment, launder $21 million so far with their schemes.

And this just in, according to the Washington Post: “Former Trump foreign policy advisor George Papadopoulos pleaded guilty earlier this month to making a false statement to FBI investigators who asked about his contacts with a foreigner connected to Russian officials, and the agreement was unsealed Monday (10-30-2017).” So, there were contacts with Russians during the campaign. FACT.

The good news for Trump is neither his campaign nor the administration was mentioned in this indictment. Most experts believe that Special Counsel Robert Mueller, III has only made his first move and people around Trump should take any request for information very seriously. And, oh yeah, don’t lie.

For those people who have a great desire for impeachment, you should focus on how the White House reacts to these charges. Donald Trump, who says he knows more than lawyers, continually distances himself from Manafort and over-amplifies the distractions. His morning tweet says it all, “Sorry, but this is years ago, before Paul Manafort was part of the Trump campaign. But why aren’t Crooked Hillary & the Dems the focus????? …Also, there is NO COLLUSION!”

Ty Cobb and his murder of attorneys have taken the bull by the horn and are attempting to spin this Mueller thing away from Donald Trump. But in the end, no one controls Trump and that will be his downfall. If he is the only person to really know, then knowing anything about these crimes is a crime itself.

Today is not the end, it is only beginning. At worst, Trump is just like all those other scandal makers in the White House. Deny involvement, blame someone else, and if someone took some pain for you, pardon them. For a “law and order” President, the Donald seems to have no respect for law.

For now, we know, at least, the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump is an extremely poor judge of character.

NO TAPES, NO PROOF

Trump Incessantly Playing Games

Donald Trump was pushed off cable TV for a few hours when the Senate released its healthcare bill, but he was able to get into the headlines again after his latest tweet.

‘With all of the recently reported electronic surveillance, intercepts, unmasking and illegal leaking of information, I have no idea whether there are “tapes” or recordings of my conversations with James Comey, but I did not make, and do not have, any such recordings.”

And with this, he called a TV black out on the daily press conference which was run by Sarah Huckabee Saunders (6-22-2017) in order to keep his daily “shit show” off the TV. But after the briefing, they allowed the audio to be released. So, there were tapes of the press conference and after the press briefing CNN and others ran the audio.

Donald J. Trump doesn’t really have a mental filter when it comes to Twitter. With the admission that there are no tapes of his conversations with fired FBI Director, his original tweet was more of a threat than a question. He knew there were no tapes of the conversation, but went ahead with the tweet. Therefore, this action is tantamount to witness intimidation.

The statute is rather clear: Witness tampering is the act of attempting to alter or prevent the testimony of witnesses within criminal or civil proceedings. Laws regarding witness tampering also apply to proceedings before the U.S. Congress, executive departments, and administrative agencies.

The Legal Information Institute embellishes: Whoever knowingly uses intimidation, threatens, or corruptly persuades another person, or attempts to do so, or engages in misleading conduct toward another person, with intent to:

(1) influence, delay, or prevent the testimony of any person in an official proceeding;

(2) cause or induce any person to:

(A) withhold testimony, or withhold a record, document, or other object, from an official proceeding;

(B) alter, destroy, mutilate, or conceal an object with intent to impair the object’s integrity or availability for use in an official proceeding;

(C) evade legal process summoning that person to appear as a witness, or to produce a record, document, or other object, in an official proceeding; or

(D) be absent from an official proceeding to which such person has been summoned by legal process.

As Robert Mueller begins his quest to find the answers behind Russian interference with the election, President Trump said today (6-23-2017) that Mueller is good friends with James Comey and the friendship is “bothersome.” Agent Orange is planting doubt and staging the next firing, for sure.

Trump is spanking the press with his news briefing blackout, but his passive aggressiveness makes no sense. The White House released the audio right after the event. He wants to be able to block the release if the briefing doesn’t go well.

The press is not amused. World leaders are not entertained by this childish deception. The credibility of the highest office in our country has been lost with Donald Trump. It will never be restored until Donald Trump is gone.

You cannot be impeached for being stupid or obsessed with issues that have little to do with being a great President. Some of his actions have now been moved from inappropriate to obstruction to incompetence.

Keep your eyes on Trump as the investigation gets closer to his front door. He once again has taken the heat off the Senate and their secret Healthcare bill but, in the end, we will still have a country when the Donald is back in New York as an irrelevant ex-president.

PREPARING FOR PRESIDENT PENCE

The Vice Tightens on Trump

There is a very well-written book that was released recently by Allan J. Lichtman called The Case for Impeachment, where the author outlines the facts about impeachment, our countries history with impeachable offenses and some of the lesser known aspects of something our founding fathers put into the Constitution to protect the democracy from power-hungry tyrants.

With Donald Trump, we have someone who probably has no idea that his ground breaking, or as the mainstream media calls it, unprecedented actions as President, will eventually cause him to be seared in broad daylight by the magnification glass of facts.

The impeachable activities are slowly being revealed by a zealous press corps, that has been unfairly belittled by the administration, and a special counsel who the Department of Justice has appointed.

Logically, unless a person with as much flowing wealth and international properties can clearly isolate his family and himself from those profits, he can be easily impeached because of the Constitution’s Emolument Clause: ARTICLE I, SECTION 9, CLAUSE 8”

“No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”

It would have been far better for our country if Donald Trump had had done all that off-loading not to his family, but to a blind trust. Trump is conning America once again and no one has been seriously questioning, until now.

The Attorney General’s in the District of Columbia and Maryland have sued the President using the Emolument’s clause to say that he is enriching himself and his family through the commerce that takes place at properties in those states/district.

200 Congress people are going to sue under the same banner. And the Special Counsel is moving quickly and now has a clear mandate to investigate the President for obstruction of justice in the firing of James Comey. Not to pour gasoline on an open fire, but let it be said here and now (6-16-2017) judging by Trump’s tweets and previous behavior, Donald J. Trump will fire Robert S. Mueller III because of the impeachment time bomb that he himself has armed.

Let’s move forward here. After we rid ourselves of a hateful, lame, unaware, megalomaniacal narcissist, we will have to rebuild reality around someone who must take the mantle of the executive branch and keep the trains running under the present laws.  Hopefully, with the assumption that Mike Pence is clean, he will be our next president.

Many of my friends have asked me what I think of Mike Pence, a highly religious ideolog, who up to this point, has been a B-actor in the role of V.P. Pence is not a substantive thinker and his organizational skills can only be judged by his handling of the state of Indiana and Trump’s transition.

We can rule out any judgement on the transition, knowing that most of the people who Trump involved were amateurs at government and loyal dogs to the dogma of Bannon. In Indiana Pence showed the LGBT community that he is being guided by what the Bible tells him to do, without any regard to the ramifications to all the people. In short, he was like a replacement baseball player during a strike: Not that good, but we all know we will just have to wait until 2020 to get a real President again.

There are times when I wake up and think that all Trump would have to do to stop all of this is to stop stonewalling and release his tax returns. Step up to the microphone and really talk to the American people and explain why he seems more positive to Russia than to the U.K., France, Germany and our other allies. All the Donald would have to do is to stop tweeting and start working on getting real changes accomplished.

Then I have my first cup of coffee and remember that by the President’s actions, those great achievements he talked about will never be as important to him as how he is perceived. What people think about him is more important than respecting justice and law. Trump is incapable of being an authentic leader of the greatest nation in the world; more importantly, he is not personally worthy of the office.

And in the end, playing the role of Gerald Ford, our past white-haired leader, President Pence will pardon Donald Trump so he can go back to making money and being the source of deep-state conspiracy theories about how the White House was stolen from him. Only this time, he will be right.

WITCH HUNTS AND SMOKING GUNS

Trump Leaves America in Denial

Donald J. Trump, ready to embark on his long trip to meet with leaders of the world, sends his first tweet in 24-hours (5-18-2017). He lives in denial. We can only hope that he can endure the extreme vetting that an immigrant would suffer coming through customs.

We are seeing things melt away fast. Between the Comey memos, creating the possibility that Trump asked the FBI Director to let go the investigation of Michael Flynn and his ties to Russia, we also get the news that Trump was warned about Flynn by Susan Rice, Sally Yates and President Obama.  Nonetheless Trump, named him National Security Advisor. So much for extreme vetting.

Trump uses short little phrases, he probably writes on his little hands, to deflect truth and promote his agenda of lies. He claims this is the biggest “witch hunt” in American history, well he did use the word “politician.” I didn’t think Donald Trump was a politician, I thought he was different; a real swamp drainer.

But as far as witch hunts, the Salem witch trials between February 1692 and May 1693 resulted in the executions of twenty people, fourteen of them women, and all but one by hanging. Not sure you want to dredge up that piece of history with your rhetoric, Mr. Know-It-All. Witch hunts don’t usually end well for the witches.

There are many smoking guns here, but most of the people who voted for Agent Orange cannot see the smoke from the witches. They think the Media are lying and they are the witches and bitches; when, in fact, the press is being played by the leakers who have this righteous viewpoint that democracy is better when people know what is going on. The operative word here is “righteous.”

The Department of Justice has appointed a special counsel to review what happened and possibly bring charges against those who abused their power, Donald Trump is on the defense with a large smear of denial. One day Trump will wake up to the reality that the United States of America is bigger than him and his fragile ego. His self-esteem is so delicate that when the slightest breeze of truth hits it spins uncontrollably round and round.

Robert Swan Mueller III, may have a beautiful middle name, but he will be Donald Trump’s biggest problem in his life. Male swans of all species will ferociously guard their nests and in this case, the nest is our country. While the President runs around the country trying to impress other leaders, Mueller will be hard at work finding the facts.

We deserve to know the facts and get to the bottom of this ridiculous charade that this administration has perpetrated on America. If Trump did nothing wrong, then he can be managed better when both parties know the extent to which his incompetence and unethical actions have damaged the presidency and our country.

If he did something wrong, he needs to be removed from office. He cannot make money on his short stay in the White House, which means he will have to divest many properties to pay for lawsuits that will fall from the sky.

It is sad that, as great as our country is, it could have been hijacked by a con man. Is there really any difference between Bernie Madoff and Donald Trump? Maybe that’s going too far, but hey, you never know.
