REPUBLICAN WOMEN COMPLICIT

Trump’s Red Misogyny Spreads Across the Land

There was a time when Kanye West took the microphone on the stage of a Katrina Disaster Relief benefit and screamed, “George Bush doesn’t care about Black people.” Where is he now to stand up and say, “President Trump doesn’t care about women.” Oh yeah, he’s too busy wearing his red “Hitler hat” on TV, ineffectively trying to explain himself to everyone who made fun of his proclamations. In the end, evidence will prove that Mr. West has no worthy opinion about anything.

In Donald Trump’s world, men get to decide things and most, if not all, women with claims of sexual misconduct against any man, are NOT to be taken seriously. He mocks them, denies their accounts and to make matter worse, adds, “the Kavanaugh allegations show it’s a very scary time for young men in America.” The President of the United States went on stage at one of his redneck rallies and mocked the Senate Judiciary Committee testimony of Christine Blasey Ford. Our great Orange Leader doesn’t care about women. There, someone had to say it.

The group I would like to address today are the Republican women who go to Trump’s rallies and are complicit in the devaluation of women. If you have watched the HULU TV series The Handmaid’s Tale, you can imagine what would happen if those women, claiming to be patriots of America, stood by while Trump and his Supreme Court ruled against women.

The TV series is based on the best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood and is set in a place called Gilead, a totalitarian society that broke away from the United States and is ruled by a fundamentalist regime that treats women as property of the state. The justification for taking power over women is a plummeting birth rate. In the story, the few remaining fertile women are forced into sexual servitude, so that the powerful people in the land can procreate. The religious overtones and language of this plot shows that a society could be taken over by zealots, you know, like Islamic states. Only in this one, it’s the far-right Christians who have all the power.

There is a flaw in our current reality when good Christian people get sucked into the dogma of The Donald without any regard for the fact the he personally could care less about Christianity. He worships money. And if we take the latest reportage from the New York Times to be only half true, Trump was taught by his father and crafty lawyers how to cheat the system long before he was able to talk in whole sentences. Well, he’s still struggling with learning how to do that, but the fraud and deception is hard-wired into the Trump Organization. Surprise, Surprise!

The Trumps have been stealing from the U.S. Treasury for more than a half century. When we finally get to see his tax returns, it will likely become clear that he hasn’t coughed up his fair share of taxes, ever. Since playing fair and being treated fairly is such a common theme with Donald Trump, it’s contra to the very martyr complex this anarchistic moron embodies. But I didn’t vote for him, like the majority of America.

Once women side with the men in every instance of sexual harassment, misconduct or violent attacks, who will be left to pray for the casualties? The lifelong psychological burdens placed on these women are unimportant to these red state lunatics. When it comes to getting one certain judge on the high court, the end justifies the means with these ladies. And we thought that women had progressed in these United States. I guess the orange man trumps logic, equal rights and control of women’s’ bodies.

When the government becomes the vehicle for religious goals and rules, we are no better than those religious states we occasionally put down with our words and actions. Brett Kavanaugh is a pawn in the passion play of government taking away more power from both men and women. He doesn’t have to be the chosen person to get the job done.  There are many overly conservative zealots on the court already, just pick one and put him in there. Why are we making this choice about whether you believe a woman who says he’s not fit to be there? He’s proven that he doesn’t have the temperament and is way too political to hold the post.

I can’t help but wonder why our new Supreme Court candidate is not a woman. It must be hard to find a female jurist who would be a guarantee to overturn Roe Vs. Wade for the Evangelicals. I don’t believe in the Supreme Court. Why would a supposed impartial group of deciders have built in bias in its selection process? Can’t a president just find someone who doesn’t have political bias?

If only the women of America would come together and help the men decide these things. But, unfortunately, millions of women in this country are complicit. It’s all politics, and they don’t see the light until it happens to one of their sons or daughters.

If you mock Dr. Ford, you are dismissing the power your grandmothers and mothers gained with their right to vote. Do you dismiss Jerry Sandusky and what happened at Penn State? Do you dismiss what happened to all those boys and girls at the hands to the Catholic Church? Do you dismiss what happened to thousands of gymnasts treated by their so-called male doctor? Why would you laugh at Dr. Ford at your Trump rallies? Have you no decency?

We’re seeing the results of people looking the other way with this white washed investigation of Kavanaugh’s misconduct. This complicity needs to be brought into the purifying light of a new day. How do you believe a man when his con job takes away your rights and gives him more power? Donald Trump doesn’t care about women who don’t give him what he wants. You’ve been warned, sisters.

MAD MEN RULE

Trump’s Law & Disorder

There is something rather depressing about where we find ourselves today. When you realize that 27 years after the Clarence Thomas confirmation, despite the Anita Hill testimony, we are no further along. And with each tick of the clock, it feels like we are going back to the 1950s, or worse, the late thirties in Germany.

We are being played by a racist in the White House, who bounces between his own self-fulfilling narcissism and tedious repetition of messaging. The Republican fools on the hill are just along for the ride hoping they survive. We are seeing Donald Trump attempting to reshape America in his bulbous image, and it’s an ugly, angry picture of demagoguery.

In round two of the Brett Kavanaugh hearings, we witnessed the exact nature of the men who serve in the Senate. A woman came forward with her recollections, and they weren’t about to let her get in the way of what they really wanted. One could say that these men of today want to use the court and the rule of law to exercise more control over women in America. But then, that would mean that every Republican woman is complicit.

After nine hours of testimony and grandstanding, we know that a calm Californian professor is 100% sure of her memory that something bad happened to her, while an aggressive and belligerent judge stood his ground and denied any wrongdoing.

During this confirmation process, we saw how powerful men with a large platform have even convinced conservative women that the men should decide how they think and manage their bodies. Trump and his cronies are attempting to intimidate women and convincing them that speaking up against men who have done evil things is bad for America. To answer Donald Trump’s question about what man would want to come forward to take a job in this environment, I say, “A really good man.”

We can sit back and slap these modern-day mad men on the back and say, “Nice job guys,” or we can stand up to them and point out the flaws in their tone and actions. In America today, it seems like a woman’s word is still three-fifths the value of a man’s word.

And when things got a little dull and pedantic, the Senate rolled out a holier than thou southern lawyer named Lyndsey Graham to raise Cain in the embodiment of Donald Trump. Maybe this future Attorney General just doesn’t like women. After all, he has never married one and there seems to be no trail of relationships with the opposite sex to reference. This was a question that was raised when he ran for President. Now he seems to be happy by just supporting and channeling the one we have now.

Trump doesn’t care about anything now but getting reelected in 2020. If Americans sit back and lets this travesty continue, more than our rights will be taken away. Liberty is a nice word, but when all the ideologs are in charge the real people will have no say. This Kavanaugh rush job is proof they are afraid of another shoe dropping, and their wants trump morality itself.

The Senate will vote to confirm this highly political animal named Kavanaugh, but not because they think he’s a great moral light or legal intellect. They will confirm him because they were told to confirm him. The Republican male Senators couldn’t even question the female accuser themselves. They jobbed out that task to a female prosecutor from Arizona. I guess when something difficult comes along, like child birth, you ask a woman to get the job done.

Dr. Christine Ford was just a blip on the radar screen in the male control tower of politics, and she has now been sent into the night to deal with her pain alone. The Senate hearing was simply a highly partisan patronizing stunt. To quote our spineless pumpkin-president, it was just a “big fat con job.”

Trump is not a law and order president. He is a fat, old, rich, white guy who wants to tell us how to act, how to think and how to make him feel good about himself. He’s a turd in the punch bowl, a power-hungry, wannabe dictator who believes his wealth, power and fame let him do whatever he wants. Wake up America, before every day becomes an endless loop of “greatness” without freedom. It’s not America First at all, it’s Donald First.

ELEVEN WHITE MEN

Trump’s Fork in the Road

There is something disconcertingly obvious about how history repeats itself. I never liked Clarence Thomas, not because he seemed to be an angry African-American back in 1991, but because he lied and his judgements are purely political. And now we have another up for a job-for-life on the Supreme Court who, on the surface, also appears to be a liar.

Whatever “deep-state” plan there was to appoint a very conservative black judge on the bench of the highest court back then, I care not. But what we witnessed almost 30 years ago at the Thomas senate hearing was a group of senators who verbally protected a man by second guessing a woman. Now you might say that what Clarence Thomas did was no more than run of the mill sexual harassment in that era. From time to time, however, Supreme Court judges must evaluate things from where they sit on the high court. Thomas should have never been elevated to the Supreme Court.

But the biggest embarrassment for America is the current president of the United States. Just look at this tweet from 9-21-2018, I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents. I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn date, time, and place!” Donald J. Trump, if at any company in America, would be setting the firm up a major law suit for creating a hostile environment. All the president’s men and women quoted in Bob Woodward’s book are right. He’s a fucking moron.

Why no Republican women on the Senate committee? The eleven white male members of the Senate Judiciary Committee are, Chuck Grassley, Iowa, Chairman, Orrin Hatch, Utah, Lindsey Graham, South Carolina. John Cornyn, Texas, Mike Lee, Utah, Ted Cruz, Texas. Ben Sasse, Nebraska, Jeff Flake, Arizona, Mike Crapo, Idaho. Thom Tillis, North Carolina and John Kennedy, Louisiana.

I consider some of the men there nothing more than catheter bags and see no reason for them to be serving in Congress, let alone being on this committee. They are like what Trump would become if he could serve for life. O.M.G. Are you thinking “term-limits?”

Lindsey Graham has never been married, so I doubt he could judge anything about a relationship between a man and woman. Read into that whatever you want. Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and John Cornyn have their underwear so tightly twisted around their ideological excrement, I cannot believe anything they would decide would be good for all of America.

Jeff Flake and Ben Sasse seem to be reasonable people, but when given a little zap from the Republican cattle prod they both fall right into line. John Kennedy is a character with a deep-south downhome way of expressing himself, but don’t be fooled by his name. His blood runs red and he’s no Atticus Finch.

I have nothing against people getting old, but there must come a time when a person is too old to drive a car. Chuck Grassley, the chairperson of this committee, tries hard to keep things moving, but he’s 85 years old and nothing more than a tool of the good-ole boy network of the Senate. Then there’s Orrin Hatch, who is 84 and the longest-serving Republican Senator in U.S. history. It is my opinion that Grassley and Hatch should retire today at 12 noon and so we can get some Republican women on that committee.

When Orrin Hatch was asked about the accusations from a woman who says that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh attempted to rape her when they were teenagers, he showed his lack of clarity of thought. Hatch said the woman alleging assault when they were in high school must be “mistaken” and, even if the accusation is true, Kavanaugh is a “good man” and “senators should judge who he is now.” Orrin Hatch said that Christine Blasey Ford is “… mistaking something, but I don’t know, I mean, I don’t know her.”

Why would he even say that? In a court of law, he would be thrown off the jury. If he was a judge and made that comment, he would be forced to recuse himself. After he made that statement, why would he still have a vote in this matter? I will be disappointed if one of the Democrat women don’t ask for his recusal.

America has always been 50% female but they have had to scratch and claw their way to get respect. People like Sarah Palin have not helped the cause of women in politics. Anita Hill has. Are we going to believe women, or just have these eleven white men send our “women folk” back to the kitchen and stay-at-home status? We could use a few less penises on the Judiciary Committee.

Some men have moved on since 1991. Even Joe Bidden admits that, as chairman of the committee during the Anita Hill testimony, he was part of the problem. But you must gasp at the fact that Orrin Hatch is still one of the eleven angry men on the committee. What the hell are they angry about? Oh, yeah, it’s #MeToo.

It’s too late for Orrin Hatch. His only redeeming quality is that he was born in Pittsburgh, but then a lot of people can say that. He’s over the hill and half way down the drain. It won’t be too soon (January 3, 2019) until Utah puts Mitt Romney in that seat. At least we will then get a modern man with reasonable positions.

Back to the subject at hand. We will learn more next week about Brett Kavanaugh. Perhaps he will be able to lie better than he did about talking to Trump’s law firm and whether he used stolen memos when he worked for George W. Bush. Dr. Ford will have her day in court, and those eleven white men better behave or they could drive more suburban women to the polls in November.

I am sure we can count on the eleven white men to do the right thing despite the fact they have such a terrible role model in the REPUBLICAN President of the United States. Our Great Orange Leader doesn’t sleep in the same room as his spouse and he doesn’t use protection when having sex with porn stars. He seems more attracted to his daughter than his wife and, when confronted about alleged infidelity or sexual harassment, he simply denies it and walks away. His derriere is certainly bigger than his heart. Honesty is not a word you would ever use to describe Donald J. Trump. He’s merely a foolish man who built his house on lies.

When did America become so tainted by male chauvinism and old school male dominance? Oh yeah, when we elected a pig president. Oink! Oink!

THE JUDGE & THE JURY

Trump’s Nominee and the Court

We want our Supreme Court justices to be above reproach. We know that humans are flawed in many ways, but a person who sits in judgement of the most important decisions in the land needs to be honorable and fair.

For those of us who are old enough to remember Anita Hill and her agonizing testimony before an all-male panel of Senators, we know the result of that hearing gave us Clarence Thomas. In my opinion, Justice Thomas is a biased judge. But this isn’t just my opinion, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture left him out of their displays and mentioned Anita Hill’s bravery instead.

There are many in the black community who believe that some of the decisions and votes from Clarence Thomas actually turned back the clock for African-Americans in this country.  Judge Thomas’ wife, Virginia Thomas, is a well-known conservative and attorney who founded Liberty Consulting and the advocacy (lobbying) group Liberty Central. She is also a columnist for The Daily Caller and has previously worked at The Heritage Foundation. If you remember, Trump got his list of potential judges for the Supreme Court from this foundation. Virginia Thomas has more influence here than even the president.

Now we have a woman who has come forward to accuse Donald Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court of sexual assault when he was a teenager. Just as we had with Justice Thomas, one woman could stand between him and his lifetime appointment to the court. Will this simply be another Anita Hill moment with nothing really changing, or will the #MeToo movement finally be able to block a nomination to the highest court?

One of the things the protectors of the president are asking is, “Why did this woman wait so long to bring this up?” They wonder out loud, “Why now?” It’s rather bewildering that those same people will watch TV shows about cold cases that are reopened and solved without asking that same question. Sure, technology, DNA and time have a way of bringing the truth to the surface in those shows, why not follow that same kind of logic in this real-life, critical discussion?

Brett Kavanaugh is probably not a serial rapist, but just writing those words could generate a key word connection on the internet. If reposted by enough people, the connection between the nominee’s name and that label could become a search result on Google. The jury is not only public opinion, but also the fuel for the mathematical algorithms working their magic on the search terms people use. We saw what the internet did to Rick Santorum. He is forever linked with “anal sex” when people search his last name.

I watched hours and hours of the Senate confirmation hearings and, objectively speaking, I found Kavanaugh to be quite knowledgeable about case law and the tradition of precedent. At the same time, I felt that he was much too political to be on the Supreme Court. He seemed to be pitching for the job, like a greasy whore politician. It’s what he couldn’t remember that bothered me most. And who spends $60,000 on baseball tickets?

In the past, we’ve put some far-right lunatics on the court. People of today’s generation may not remember the name Lewis F. Powell Jr., but this associate justice was appointed to the Supreme Court by Richard Nixon. He did more to help large corporations and rich people than any other justice. We wouldn’t have the Citizen’s United decision or the Hobby Lobby debacle without the road being paved by Justice Powell. If we could remove a few layers of decisions in the court, we would know the big print may giveth but the fine print taketh liberty away.

It’s likely going to be another wild week in Washington. Once again, Trump has created more fodder for the news networks with no greatness. He’s taken the memory of almost 3,000 dead souls in Puerto Rico and thrown them into the trash. He’s a womanizer and abuser of women’s rights and knows his base doesn’t care. The Great Orange Leader is only playing a character President. He’s not a real statesman.

Will the members of the Senate judiciary committee ignore the testimony of one woman from California? There are probably more secrets and lies in the thousands of memos that Brett Kavanaugh wrote while working for George W. Bush. That’s the reason Republicans don’t want people to see them. Hopefully this one woman will make them realize that they should look at everything this man has said and done in the past. Why the rush?

The good news is that anything which makes Donald Trump look bad will be dismissed. It might take the Donald a little longer to figure this one out, but in the end,  he will pluck another name from that long list of conservative judges provided by the Heritage Foundation. Like a novice at the track picking a horse, Trump will point to a name he likes and lay down another bet.

A person who could breeze right through the Senate would be Merrick Garland. He’s a good judge and an objective thinker but, unfortunately, he’s not on the sacred list. There is a reason that the people don’t get to vote on Supreme Court justices, I mean look what happened when they decided who should be president.
