MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS

Trump Isn’t the Only Rich Person in America

When someone boasts about an outrageous thing, I always ask, “Are you willing to put your money where your mouth is?” This often challenges that person’s viewpoint. Some people actually do put their money behind causes and claims.

Enter billionaire and environmentalist Tom Steyer who, according to his PR blitz this weekend, is willing to spend $10 million of his own money to call for the impeachment of Donald J. Trump. His not-so-simple goal to oust Trump from office is based on Steyer’s view that the Donald has gotten us close to a nuclear war, obstructed justice and threatened the shutdown of news organizations. But he doesn’t stop there.

Steyer has a website where you can sign up, although, I’m not sure what I signed up for? If you want to take a look, it’s here, or https://www.needtoimpeach.com/ for those with your links turned off. Tom posted his letter of 10-18-2017, so his missive is fleshly minted.

In Tom Steyer’s official statement, he tells us that, “This is not a time for patience — Donald Trump is not fit for office.” He goes on to charge that Trump is exploiting the office of the Presidency for his personal gain, and that his decision to pull out of the Paris climate accords proves he will never be a good president. Tom goes so far to say that Donald Trump is a “clear and present danger to the United States of America.”

Steyer lists things like losing his own party’s faith, holding immigrant children hostage (his action on DACA) and sabotaging the ACA, as reasons for dumping the current President. He adds that the President’s poor response to natural disasters is more proof of his inadequacy in leadership.

He quotes the Constitutional expert Noah Feldman, who Mr. Steyer says has already laid out clear legal and historical foundation for impeachment. Quoting Alexander Hamilton’s argument that “high crimes and misdemeanors” could be defined as “abuse or violation of some public trust.” Good one, Tom.

I sent Tom Steyer a message this weekend suggesting that his organization buy a bunch of my DONALD TRUMP: Repeal, Replace, Impeach books and send one to each congressperson in Washington. After all, we tracked Trump in his first 200 days and, contained therein, are many points of why Trump should be removed from office.

The need to impeach Donald Trump is self-evident. He is a destructive, uncaring human being who doesn’t have the emotional maturity to deal with most of his responsibilities. We will eventually learn that Trump has major ties to Russia and is beholding to Russian bankers and the political power structure there.

We will also learn that Trump has lied about everything and speaks untruth any time he feels challenged by anyone. Trump is indeed afraid of what is in his income tax returns, thus his lack of transparency. If you could follow the money, you would see that Trump has too many ties to NOT be guilty of violating the Emolumants Clause of the constitution. If we let this great Orange Leader get away with milking money out of the Treasury, we are no better than Russia. That is exactly how Putin got so rich.

Trump is an immoral man who conned the church and evangelicals and used them. He convinced them that he can help save Christianity. I’m not sure why Christianity needs to be saved. I thought it was baked into the concept of a savior driven religion. Our President certainly does little for those of the Jewish faith. He seems to hate Muslims and doesn’t even address the atheists and agnostics. He is certainly not a president for all of America.

With his quest to de-Obama-ize America, Trump hurts people and he will, with the help of his buddy Bannon, eventually destroy the Republican party. This notion that the Trump-Republican tax plan is going to help the middle class is horseshit. The attitude from people like Paul Ryan is, “Let them eat cake” and cast out those who those to try to stop the top 1% from benefiting from no regulations, no taxes, no banking laws, no environmental restrictions and a political dogma that, in the end, will make America less great. We’ll get more poverty, more crime and more guns.

If the people in Congress don’t act now, more billionaires will come to the aid of Tom Steyer and start to water the seed of discontent among the rich and powerful. Without the stock market as a cushion, Trump has done nothing but vomit on the Constitution and piss on the Bill of Rights. I, for one, want to be counted as someone who warned you, America. The stock market is a Ponzi-scheme.

All the Democrats will vote for impeachment, and more and more Republicans would do the same.  The writing is on the wall. And it’s not Trump’s wall, it’s the wall standing between them and their future employment in Washington. Will they ever put their money where their common values are? We’ve had many parts of the Constitution tested in our 241 years as a nation, now it’s time to see if impeachment even works. I mean, let’s see if we can actually convict a sitting President and remove him from office. Hey, if you don’t use it, you could lose it.

It’s time to get rid of this mean, thoughtless old fool who is taking our great country down. If 62% of America can rise up and take their country back, we can all rest a little easier at night. And I would put my money where my mouth is. How much does it cost to impeach a president? Where can I make a donation?
