BRIBERY…

With a Steamy Side of Corrupt Intent

Donald Trump either doesn’t understand law or he simply chooses to ignore what is on the books. I’m fairly sure he can be diagnosed as a pathological liar with narcissistic personality disorder. Perhaps in his quiet, alone time he knows that he’s a fraud on many levels, but then he would have to admit that on top of all his other flaws he has a dual personality. But let’s not get too far into the world of science; it’s a world that Trump never visits.

Federal laws define bribery as the practice of offering, giving, receiving, or soliciting something of value for the purpose of influencing the action of an official in discharge of his or her public or legal duties. To put this another way, bribery is used to gain an illicit advantage.

According to USLegal.com, “The General Federal Bribery Statute says that whoever directly or indirectly, corruptly gives, offers or promises anything of value to any public official with intent to influence that person’s official act will be fined for the offence of bribery by an amount not more than three times the monetary equivalent of the thing of value, or imprisonment for not more than fifteen years, or both.  And if convicted, that person would be disqualified from holding any office of honor, trust, or profit under the U.S government.”

It doesn’t say that the person being bribed must be a US official and it also plainly states that a promise of anything of value can be an ingredient in a bribery case. Clearly, almost $400 million in aid is something of value. After reading all the available testimony and transcripts and digesting the diatribes of the President himself, I believe Donald J. Trump is guilty of bribery. It’s time to stop using the phrase “Quid Pro Quo,” just as we no longer talk about “collusion,” a word Trump thought would shield him from the truth in the last investigation.

There is no doubt that Trump had a corrupt intent, and his defense in the form of a denial is pointless. Trump typically denies everything when he’s accused of wrongdoing. In more than 11,000 tweets, President Trump has lied more than 13,000 times. After many initial claims of non-involvement, evidence has proven that he not only had direct knowledge but participated in the corruption.

The laughable plea that he was trying to root out corruption in Ukraine is astonishing. Trump’s trick of trying to destroy Joe Biden as a political rival could possibly work, which would then become more proof that he is a chronically immoral being. Trump himself has corruptly used the Justice Department to carry his water and attempt to discredit the very people in Justice who are charged with defending our country against crime. Those who are complicit will be remembered.

Going after the whistleblower is a gross injustice being perpetrated and encouraged by the President of the United States. This is against the law and surely will be added to the impeachment charges.

The whistleblower protection act states that anyone who comes forward to point out corruption is afforded protections from retaliation such as reduction in pay or hours, denial of overtime or benefits, a suspension that lasts 14 days or more, termination from serving as federal civil employee, demotion to a lower paying position in federal employment or reducing one’s responsibilities. The death threats that the whistleblowers lawyers have been receiving are important to people like Donald Trump and the Napoleonic Senator from Kentucky, Rand Paul. Shame on all who break the law!

Bribery is a thug crime and degrading act. Using it in a scheme to keep aid from a country that could affect the security of this country borders on treason is perilous. It’s time we start using proper terms so that the American public can understand exactly what this president did.

People understood the Black Sox scandal of 1919, when baseball players took bribes to throw a World Series. People understand a late breaking case of bribery, in which three Twitter employees allegedly took bribes to help Saudi Arabia spy on dissidents. People understand the stain on politics when some local politician takes a bribe to help his brother-in-law get a big government contract. BRIBERY is the correct word with respect to Trump. Use it!

A person offering a bribe is guilty of an infraction, as is the person who takes the bribe. The President of Ukraine didn’t take the bribe, but the bribe was discovered. It’s time that we use the law, 18 USCS prec § 201(b) against Donald Trump and his corrupt administration. It’s time that this “law and order President” gets a personal dose of that law and order he swore to defend.

A PERFECT CALL…

Perfect for Impeachment

We are seeing a clear pattern. Denying wrongdoing sends a message to any thinking person, “look at what is being denied.” There you will discover the infraction.

I was highly suspicious when the President of the United States said that his phone call shaking down a leader of another country for dirt on his political opponents was a “perfect call.” Let’s be clear. The involvement of any foreign country in our elections is not only highly unethical, it’s against the law. It is the very reason why Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation took place.

Bullshitters usually exaggerate and turn to hyperbole when they are caught in a lie. The easiest form of defense is to attack those who disclose a wrongdoing. We are far from “witch hunts” and “hoaxes,” as Donald Trump would like people to believe. This is a full blown coverup, and with each day we learn the president himself orchestrated this corrupt use of his office.

From his testimony, we learned that the National Security Council’s top Ukraine expert, Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, tried to make changes to the White House’s rough transcript of the July phone call between President Donald Trump and Ukraine’s President. Those changes never got into the summary and partial transcript. Making sure a transcript is accurate is one of Vindman’s responsibilities.

At some point during the call, Trump told Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky there were tapes of Biden. This part of the conversation was replaced with an ellipsis in the released transcript. The White House statement that the ellipsis did not represent missing words or phrases was a lie. Parts of the call where eliminated from the transcript before the text was moved to a special server. This is a cover up.

Many of the President’s tweets include ellipses. Could Trump have edited the partial transcript before it went out to the public? Maybe he keeps saying it was a “perfect call” because he sees it as a perfect crime. This is the same guy who used a sharpie to distort a weather map to cover his mistake about where a storm was headed. It’s clear that he drew the line. Everyone knows a sharpie is his writing and signing tool of choice. The evidence of his hand in the lie is obvious.

The Donald’s lies can easily be seen with the naked eye and he continually exposes himself with his words, actions and approaches. He’s nothing but a two-bit, sloppy street thug and bully without the knowledge, intelligence or moral core needed to lead America. He says the same things over and over, expecting people to believe him even when facts clearly show the opposite. All the smart people in Congress, both Republicans and Democrats, know that Trump is just a half-baked entertainer and con man. They see him as a fool while they attempt to exploit him for their party or own personal power. Those who backed Nixon to the end lost face, but they never lost their jobs. They just stopped talking about what they said before the impeachment.

Trump sounds like his unmanageable and malignant brain has been stuffed with endless lies by an evil hypnotist who has programmed him to endlessly repeat them. In a court of law, some of Trump’s comments about those testifying would be evidence of witness tampering and intimidation. Those behaviors are part of OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE and should be dealt with by Congress.

When Trump says he is the “most transparent President ever,” he is clearly lying. The weirdly bizarre thing about Trump is that he can’t use truth to his advantage. The press conference on the killing of Baghdadi had so many stupid, made up statements that it felt like a training video demonstrating how to spot a pathological liar and a person suffering from narcissistic personality disorder.

Trump trades in fear and hate, believing that secrets have magical powers to make him win. A thing is perfect when it is as good as it can possibly be. There is no way that the phone call with the Ukrainian President was perfect and the incomplete and the altered transcript plainly shows that. If Donald Trump doesn’t know the difference between something being “perfect” and something that is doing him harm, he is perfectly unqualified to be president.

Let me end with my deepest feelings about Trump. He’s a bad human being. He should not be president. America deserves a President who doesn’t lie. And when grown men and women keep saying how unfair things are, they should take their own advice and pull themselves up from their bootstraps and grow a pair.

A Thriller About ISIS and Baghdadi

The famous cable TV talk show host, Jonas Bronck, leaves New York on his quest to find truth. He finds himself in the middle of terror and personal torment in the name of journalism. He once again asks, If God Could Cry, would he be crying for us, or with us?

WHO’S YOUR DADDY, BAGHDADI?

The Reason Intelligence Matters

In 2011, businessman Donald Trump felt the need to comment about the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, “Any president sitting there when the generals come in and say we have him, who’s going to say, oh, let’s leave him alone?” Trump was attempting to lessen any credit President Obama might receive for the raid and killing. Trump also complained about it taking so long, an early slap at military intelligence.

President Trump doesn’t understand that the type of decisions all modern presidents had to make, are now his to make. He gets credit for his good moves and, as he knows, he will get harshly slayed by the press, Congress and his critics when things go wrong. Donald Trump has made no friends with his critical personality.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is a main character in my book If God Could Cry, and I was delighted by his killing. My historical novel portraited the so-called leader of the Caliphate based on the many books and articles I read about him. His location in my book was in northern Syria, quite near where he was finally found. This seemed logical to me when I was writing.

The boogie man Trump attempted to create during his “mission accomplished” Sunday morning presentation to the nation probably made some people feel good, but this line about Baghdadi, “Died like a dog, died like a coward,” might be better for someone doing a movie pitch. It was so un-statesman-like. How can there be joy in the murder of an enemy when the “achievement” included the killing of three innocent children? This gloating is a giant turn-off and it’s just more of the “all about me” attitude that constantly seeps out of Trump like puss.

I have always been skeptical about generalizations because they are often used to put down an entire race, religion or culture. Trump uses a bit of undocumented hearsay or obvious racial tropes to make people doubt groups of people. For example, he said that the Kurds “are no angels,” meaning what? The facts suggest that the Kurds provided the information that helped find Baghdadi. Why are we pushing them away?

Trump is also desperately trying to justify his embrace of Putin and Russia as it pertains to Syria, Turkey, the Kurds and what is happening in that part of the world. He paints his personal relationships with non-democratic demigods as something that will help America. I hate to say it, but Donald J. Trump has now drawn a giant target on himself because he personalized the kill. His overt taking of credit for the operation while shaming the terrorist with his graphic description will cause other terrorists to see Trump as the true “infidel.” I am sure the Donald loves his characterization of the whole thing being like a movie, but movies have endings.

Terrorist movements are not motion pictures. They tend to reconstitute, and the next version is always much more heinous. It’s clear that Donald Trump doesn’t have any idea about how people in that part of the world think. He has no training in or knowledge of foreign policy, and probably couldn’t explain how a parliamentary system works. If only he had followed the advice of those in the government who know that area, he might have stayed in the game to gain long-term stability.

Trump would rather have a friendship with Kim Jong-Un, even if pushes aside the grief and sorrow of a family from Cincinnati who lost their son at the hands of that monster. Otto Warmbier is person who didn’t have to die. Trump doesn’t care about him, though. He got his mileage and has accepted Kim’s denials.

Because of a U.N. investigation and report, we know how Saudi agents plotted to kill and dismember Washington Post reporter Jamal Khashoggi., Trump, however, is more interested in selling weapons to Saudi Arabia. Killing people is okay for Trump if it involves a transaction favorable to him. Trump has accepted the Crown Prince’s denial.

The suggestion that our military will remain in Northern Syria to protect the oil refineries does not mean that Trump will use such military intervention to get the oil of a sovereign nation. The U.N. clearly states, “…in conflict and post-conflict situations, the importance of cooperation in shared responsibility, among source, transit and destination countries in preventing and combating trafficking, illicit trade and illegal exploitation of natural resources.” It would be against international law for us to exploit the resources of any nation. Plus, we really don’t need the oil, according to Trump we have tons of it.

Trump may say he doesn’t respect the United Nations, but he falls all over himself to address that body. He needs to follow the rules in war and conflicts, unless he wants to spend his later years sitting in front of a war tribunal. That’s on him.

The intelligence community and the lifetime experts who work for the federal government are NOT petty people like Trump. They are mission-oriented folks who are totally loyal to the Constitution and the Commander-in-Chief. When difficult times come, Trump needs to turn to those same intelligence people for information that will keep our country safe. When he maligns them on Twitter for political purposes, he not only disrespects those hard-working Americans he stains the presidency. He comes off as trite and burdened by information.

Trump will take the credit for the death of an enemy, but that doesn’t mean he alone can determine who the real enemies are. He needs to stop being so judgmental without facts and evidence. The saddest point concerning the take down of ISIS’ number one man is the glorification of his death could incite “true believers” to do more harm to people who look like us. But then, Trump has all the answers and we hope his guesses work because failure could be terrible for our country. When he’s wrong, we always lose big time.

LINCHPINS & LYNCHINGS

Trump Offends to Please

Sometimes I meet a person who seems a little out of touch, most often due to a lack of understanding or knowledge of history. This frustrates me because if we fail to agree on facts there’s no way to have a serious discussion.

One of the conspiracy notions that I find most offensive is this bizarre belief that the World War II holocaust didn’t happen. My father was there. He saw the horror and I saw his pictures of the camps. The linchpins of most conspiracy groups simply ignore facts and spout insane reasons for their theories, and they continue to distort history.

According to the Tuskegee Institute, 4,743 people were lynched between 1882 and 1968 in the United States, including 3,446 African Americans and 1,297 whites. More than 73 percent of lynchings in the post-Civil War period occurred in the Southern states. The idea of comparing anything to lynching is an unwarranted, highly offensive act. When President Trump feels that his back is against the wall, he strikes back with a comment meant to take the attention off a problem and put himself back on the front page. He’s a headline-seeking thug, not a moral president and leader.

Comparing what is happening in the impeachment process to a “lynching” demonstrates that Trump has an amazing talent to offend those who have or will suffer in their lives. Can Trump be so out of touch that he doesn’t consider the impact of a Tweet on one group of voters and citizens? Why would African Americans ever take him seriously, much less vote for him?

Equally horrible was Lindsey Graham’s defense of the offence. He told reporters on Capitol Hill that the investigation into Trump is “a lynching in every sense.” Graham added, “I think it’s pretty well accurate—this is a shame, this is a joke. This is a lynching in every sense. This is un-American.” I had to tweet back to Senator Graham that impeachment is in the US Constitution, but lynching is not. Graham described impeachment as un-American, yet he directly participated in Bill Clinton’s impeachment. That was my motivation when I called Lindsey a “POLITICAL WHORE!” Lindsey Graham is so patronizing and hypocritical that it’s unbelievable South Carolina keeps reelecting him.

Some people ask why Trump seems to talk like a white supremacist, but they can find the answer in these three words, “Because he is.” Patriots of this country are trying to understand why the Donald would have pulled troops from Northern Syria and left our allies, the Kurds, to be slaughtered. When Trump lashes out at minorities, immigrants and anyone who disagrees with him, he shows his severe mental impairment. He’s involved in a major coverup and not fit to be President.

It’s high time we see his tax returns. We need to understand his wealth, whether he has paid taxes, whether he is financially beholding to foreign banks or countries and whether he committed crimes with money. How could any court say his finances should be private? He’s the President of the United States And we need to know these things… now.

The lynching of black Americans wasn’t solely about hangings. Many atrocities were committed during those heinous murders. There was no judge and jury; these slaughters were carried out by malicious mobs justifying their actions on the belief they were superior and had a right to kill anyone they hated, thus the term “hate crime.”

No one wants to mutilate and string Trump up on a tree. They just want to restore some law and order to our government. Donald J. Trump is not a good person and he’s a terrible President. Some may want him “locked up” after all is said and done, but just getting him the fuck out of the White House would be the best thing that ever happened to America.

Trump doesn’t know history. He calls every investigation into him a “witch hunt.” He obviously doesn’t comprehend that the cliché has a true meaning. Fourteen women and five men were executed by hanging during the Salem Witch Hunt trials. When he verbalizes that he feels like he is undergoing a “lynching” with all the impeachment talk, he should remember that thousands of people were lynched in this country. This blathering buffoon has no empathy for people or respect for American history.

Perhaps Congress will wake up and do their duty. Without impeachment, Donald Trump will simply continue to waste time, money and lives to bolster his fragile ego. What a waste and disgrace.

IS FACEBOOK PROMOTING FAKE NEWS?

Social Media is More Powerful Than Trump

Americans will believe anything presented in an official way. We are about to learn some lessons that cannot be unlearned no matter what anyone says or does. People are so fixed in their positions that they will often use one lie to discredit another lie. Allow me to paint the picture.

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, has sat through a number of interviews lately trying to explain the policies of his social media giant. He says they were created to keep America safer and less duped by nefarious online characters. In my latest book, Gold, God, Guns & Goofballs, I dedicate a couple of chapters to the ways social media is ill-equipped for this task. With the possibility that many outrageous lies from Donald Trump and his reelection campaign will land on Facebook, what is the Zuck to do? He hasn’t a plan.

I like to use language correctly and accurately. A favorite phrase of my high school English teacher was, “be specific!” When you call something a “safe zone,” please be sure that no specific person will be blown up there. Let’s think about the term “social media.” It’s a vague phrase, but over time we have learned that its websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or participate in social networking. Do the owners of social networking websites or applications have the right to censor the content that is shared on their platforms? People and groups are now challenging Facebook to decide the veracity of the content posted by its members. The people at Facebook can’t monitor every post fast enough, and after hearing Zuckerberg on NBC, they won’t being doing much more than they do now.

When Hillary Clinton said that the Russians are looking to co-opt one of the Democratic candidates running for President, her claim was widely reposted and the comments flowed. How can Facebook cut that off? A sidebar comment will be appropriate here. Why is Hillary Clinton doing anything to affect the campaigns of those running for President? Oh, yeah, she still feels that social media hurt her in 2016. I get that, but why attack anyone without proof? Go be a grandmother, Hill.

Now we learn that Mitt Romney has a fake Twitter feed under the name “Pierre Delecto” who appeared to be an anti-Trump guy. The page has been taken down, but what is going on? When someone with that much credibility uses Twitter to stir up some dust behind Trump, I can’t help wondering if it was just an experiment or an effort to learn how to use Twitter politically.

I was banned by Twitter for 12 hours because I called Lindsey Graham a “political whore,” which seemed to be the best way to characterize his bouncing back and forth on matters concerning Trump. After all, the second meaning of the word “whore” conveys exactly my thought, “a person who is regarded as willing to do anything to get a particular thing.” I was eventually returned to active status, but I wonder who at Twitter decides what I can say? They let Trump post anything, even FAKE NEWS and purposeful lies that can damage a person and a country.

The reason why people like Joe Biden are so concerned about the policies at Facebook, Twitter and all the other social media sites is because they understand the power of those platforms. Our First Amendment protects the “press” from censorship. Social media, however, is NOT the press, even though they are used to spread the written word quite nicely. If I write something on Twitter or Facebook, wouldn’t I be the publisher, it is my account? I’m just using the social media servers to distribute my content. Why do they get to edit my words? Their “standards” are not a free pass to the final determination of what is true. What is about to change and maybe codified in law is that Facebook and Twitter could be classified as a publisher, therefore would actually have more First Amendment rights.

My conclusion on all this is much like what people think about video games. Many of them are ultra-violent expressions cloaked in a game. Some say that professional football is just war put into a game. But as more and more people are drawn into video games, players are now being organized into large tournaments where they can win millions of dollars. Does that make it right? Everyone knows that the use of violence in many games make them more exciting.

The geeks who own social media companies have found ways to mine data for monetary rewards. They created a marketing platform for companies, groups and political candidates who pay money for ads and placement on the site. They are not going to take every ad, they do have procedures, but they are not going to stop the money coming in from you, me or Russia. They take the money and run the ads while having no ability to monitor comments or reposts. They are lying about how it works.

Just like video game makers aren’t going to take the violence out of their products, social media is not going to protect your privacy any more than they must, and things that cost too much money will be delayed. Trump’s fake news is powerful, and his campaign has tons of money to spread his words further than Facebook or Twitter can manage. If Russia decides to push against Trump, he will not be helped by any social media site. They simply don’t know what to do.  It’s a beast out of control!

GET OVER IT

Mulvaney’s Overt Folly

Yesterdays’ happenings in the Trump administration should bother every living American. The arrogance, fabrications and blunders are getting in the way of our progress and security. The massive methane of White House bullshit is threatening the planet’s environment.

How long it will take to “get over” this calamity known as Donald Trump? The election of our orange monster has given Vladimir Putin everything he could have ever wanted. Trump is all talk and no brains and the people around him are mindless tools and fools.

Mick Mulvaney did his undergraduate work at Georgetown and went on to receive his legal degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then won the South Carolina 5th District in House of Representatives, but not without controversy. Mulvaney’s campaign was funded by the Commission on Hope, Growth, and Opportunity, a group run by lobbyist Scott W. Reed, who was accused of violating federal campaign finance laws and disclosing false information to the Internal Revenue Service. Yes, here’s another swamp creature who slithered into the White House!

In front of the White House press corps, Mulvaney announced that Donald Trump has decided to “award” one of his properties, the Doral resort in Miami, the G7 Summit which will take place next June. He also brazenly declared that no one would see any of the bidding paperwork leading to that decision. This is clearly a violation of the Emoluments Clause, which restricts members of the government from receiving gifts, emoluments, offices or titles from foreign states and monarchies without the permission of Congress. Someone must step forward on Capitol Hill.

Mulvaney should have walked away from the press after his outrageous G7 announcement, but he’s just another grifter with no skill at self-editing. His phrase, “Get over it,” showed a contempt for law and order as well as a genuine belief that Donald Trump can do no wrong.

The Director of the Office of Management and Budget, who is also acting White House Chief of Staff, now tells us that political considerations are simply a part of foreign policy and we should “get over it.” Does he mean domestic or general politics? He’s just another buffoon communicator Trump has tapped to speak for him.  Nice work, Prez!

Mr. Mulvaney, you are a belligerent piece of shit. We will NOT “get over it” and we will remember your admission that the President of the United States asked another country to get involved in our elections in exchange for military aid. It was a quid pro quo and you knew it, which makes you and your fluffy little ass complicit. Get ready to  be thrown out of government, which will happen as soon as this whole matter of malfeasance is resolved, meaning Trump’s impeachment.

While the press room punk in the White House was playing out, two other Trump puppets were in Turkey surrendering to their President. The ridiculous photo op with Mike Pence, Mike Pompeo and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was just another stain on a diplomatic suicide mission. After the announcement of a 120-hour ceasefire, Trump gloated in Dallas about how he alone “saved civilization,” but there are major lies in this plan.

First, when is it proper for two countries to decide the fate of a third sovereign nation without involving them in the process? That would be like Canada and Mexico deciding what they wanted to do with the Washington State in the US. Erdoğan wanted to take a sizable chunk of land from Syria to force movement of Turkey’s unwanted immigrants, and guess what?. We gave him what he wanted and in exchange we agreed to lift sanctions. So, we gave them two things and what did we get? Art of the steal?

The Pence and Pompeo agreement gave the Kurds and their fighters five days to leave the land that Turkey planned to take over with force. This was not a ceasefire, It was nothing but a third-party surrender of civilization and claimed land belonging to our fighting allies.

Trump and Erdoğan caused this disaster, and history will write that the Turkish President played Trump and got exactly what he wanted. If only they had agreed to this before the invasion, 285 Kurds would still be alive.

It wasn’t more than a few hours before Turkey’s Foreign Minister declared the agreement was not a “ceasefire,” but simply a pause. “Ceasefire” is legal terminology with international meaning and standing, Turkey said it was just a “temporary pause,” meaning they can resume killing whenever they want without any penalty or face loss.

The headline in today’s Wall Street Journal says it all, “Fighting Flares in Syria Despite Hours-Old Cease-Fire.” Let’s be crystal clear, as our president says. Kurdish forces are to withdraw from a 20-mile-deep territory that will then be controlled by Turkey. Donald J. Trump handed that win to Turkey. How foolish Pence and Pompeo looked on the world stage.

The Turkish forces, along with unhinged militias in the area, will continue to kill people while our fat foolish president prances around America professing his success in the Middle East. He will talk about fulfilling his campaign promise to bring the troops home, but he doesn’t realize that he has produced unrest and uncertainty in a volatile region of our world. And with a new land bridge which Iran will surely use to get closer to Israel, Trump may have just sunk the chance of his buddy, Netanyahu, from forming a government. Too bad. I guess the Kurds and Israel and those who were keeping the peace just need to “get over it.” What a screwed-up President we have.

SANCTIONS & CEASEFIRE

Trump’s Illogical Foreign Policy

There is something so disturbing about President Donald J. Trump that makes me wonder if he has the cognitive ability to think in linear form. We don’t know what was said and heard on the call with Turkey’s President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, but the two leaders’ comments and actions seem to be totally out of sync. If you want a leader to not invade a country, perhaps you should tell them BEFORE THEY ATTACK!

Donald Trump says he told Erdoğan that moving his troops and talking land in Northern Syria would be a bad idea. However, the text of the Turkish side of that call leads one to believe that Trump gave Turkey permission to land grab with the intent of resettling refugees avoiding the wrath of Bashar al-Assad, the evil president of Syria. In April of 2016, the United Nations and Arab League Envoy to Syria estimated that 400,000 people died in the war.

Speaking from the Oval Office on 10-16-2019, President Trump said that Turkey’s incursion into Syria is their problem. The exact quote was, “They have a problem at the border; it’s not our border,” and that “they’ve got a lot of sand over there. There’s a lot of sand they can play with.” What a dingbat remark. He has no idea how uncaring and distorted his comments are. Not only is it our problem, it’s a snag we created by our actions. We started a war by pulling fewer than 50 soldiers out of a place that had been experiencing relative calm. Trump refuses to admit he is wrong while being played by another ruthless world leader who has become nothing short of a sultan in Turkey.

While both Republicans and Democratic Congresspeople are highly critical of Trump’s bizarre plan, the President demanded a stop to the invasion and called for a ceasefire. Erdoğan has Russia and Putin on his side and he doesn’t give a whit about Trump’s babbling. The man is under impeachment investigation and he thinks that his opinions are the only things that matter about the law, a war, and the world. He’s a complete buffoon with no mental acumen and no talent for foreign policy and world events. The Donald is harming America, right in front of everyone’s eyes. Someone needs to step up and STOP HIM NOW.

VP Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo traveling to Turkey for an emergency ceasefire negotiation with Erdoğan is almost comical. Why didn’t Trump make his position clear on the phone call? Fox News reported that, “President Trump ‘went off script’ during his call on Sunday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, before he announced that the U.S. would withdraw all troops from northeast Syria ahead of a Turkish military operation in the region.”

Trump was supposed to say, “Tell Erdogan to stay north of the border,” but he ignored some of his own points. I swear, this man has a chip in his brain controlled by Putin controlling him to do dirty deeds which affect the very security of our nation.

Trump claims that the Kurds are “no angels,” but what exactly does that mean? He spouts about the cost of the transaction, ignoring the fact that the Kurds fought against ISIS for us and captured more than 10,000 terrorists. This idiot president fails to comprehend they lost more than 10,000 men and women in the fight against ISIS. He’s simply blocked it out to cover his lies and bad judgment.

Trump believes that some ISIS fighters were released from prison to lure America back into a war in the Middle East. Has he forgotten that ISIS, and Al-Qaeda before them, were trained in those areas and attacked the United States on 9-11? He doesn’t care if ISIS prisoners get released, claiming they will go to Europe. Why is that good for America and the world? How lame is it for the President to tell the American public that Syria is 7,000 miles from us and so what happens there is not that important to our country and people.

Trump abuses his power by waging economic war with sanctions. He threatens to raise tariffs on Turkish products, thinking President Erdoğan will bend to his will. Actually, he is forcing Turkey and other fringe countries into the arms of Russia and Putin. If Trump keeps going, we will lose face and the support of our international allies.

As the world gets worse, Trump continues to praise himself and gloat on the false premise that he knows what he is doing. The United States is being run by a lunatic who believes his unitary executive position cannot be challenged by equal branches of government. If we do not stop him now, we might have to fight for our democracy for decades to come.

The mistake in Syria proves Trump is unfit to be President of our country, or any country. He repeats himself endlessly while those who believe in him are guilty of a strange idol worship. They will be judged by a higher power. For now, however, we must get rid of this presidential idiot who is damaging America more and more every day. Donald Trump won’t learn any lesson, even when his two stooges, Pence and Pompeo come back from Turkey with their tails between their legs with nothing accomplished in Syria. This is a failure of epic proportions.

Gold, God, Guns & Goofballs shows how we’ve wasted our GOLD on bad wars and corruption. While GOD is there for many people as a spiritual enrichment and the provider of glowing feelings, the truth is just praying and believing will not change our major arc. We don’t determine who gets a GUN. We aren’t sure if we have paramilitary groups ready to storm the White House or a White Castle. There is no control of weapons. The GOOFBALLS with the power constantly try to manipulate us into spending more money on bombs and tanks and wars. When all of our institutions are infected with neglect and fall in disrepair, we will only have ourselves to blame. IMPEACHMENT IS COMING

Trump’s Infallibility Flaw

Donald J. Trump’s attempts to block people from testifying in Congressional hearings is interesting and, up to a point, successful. But things changed when two of Rudy Giuliani’s clients were arrested at Dulles International Airport with one-way tickets to Frankfort, Germany. Now the clear minds and legal scholars are saying that anyone who gets a subpoena should proceed to tell the truth. Some of Trump’s people are starting to understand that taking a bullet for Trump could put them in jail. They saw what happened to Michael Cohen and Paul Manafort. No one can ever trust that Trump will have their back or offer a pardon if something goes bad. Trump will do anything to get his way and look good.

New President Pelosi

When I ask Trump supporters what they think about the call to the newly minted president of Ukraine and the quid pro quo that was in play, they simply say they don’t see anything wrong with that deal. WTF? When I pose the hypothetical of a President Biden calling Russia and asking for Putin to get dirt on Trump, they simply go into a hypnotic trance. The Mueller investigation provided a detailed description of things that happened before and right after the election, but it failed to present its findings in clear language. Mueller did not follow the money; he simply talked to people. The premise of the investigation was a fear of foreign influence in our elections, which the Intelligence Committee proved happened. Right after William Barr presented his “nothing to see here” defense of Donald Trump, the president picked up the phone and did exactly what the probe had been investigating. So, he cannot plead ignorance this time.

It’s ironic that Trump is going after Joe Biden’s son while most people ignore the treasures that Trump’s kids have collected by using presidential power to their advantage. Ivanka got patents and copyrights for her fashion line in China. Don Jr. and Eric, when not mouthing off on TV for their father, have increased their wealth through the profits of Trump properties. Some say they made as much as $80 billion since their father was elected. The wicked sardonicism that Rudy Giuliani and the two Soviet-born confidence men had lunch at the Trump Hotel in DC right before they were arrested is just another dollar in the kids’ pockets. Of course, the president will also reap a long term reward from those funds.

And there will be another victim in this Trump era of corruption. Not named, but it’s known that former Texas Representative Pete Sessions took money from these two Soviet-born businessmen and it appears Sessions may have played a role in their indictment. You see, the swamp continues to be where all the bad people live, and Trump has done nothing to get rid of those slimy political whores.

Pete Sessions (no relation to Jeff) came under scrutiny in the past for his personal ties to disgraced banker Allen Stanford, who in 2012 was convicted of orchestrating a $7 billion Ponzi scheme. Sessions received over $44,000 in political contributions from Stanford and took multiple trips to Fire Island and the Caribbean to attend Stanford-sponsored events. Those trips included private travel on Stanford’s fleet of jets and accommodations. Slimy Sessions was in Congress until January 2019. What took so long to bring this bastard down?

Part of what people get terribly wrong about our government is the fallacy that lifetime public servants are corrupt, lazy or taking advantage of taxpayers’ money. There is a Capitol Hill harangue that a person who is not elected by the people is flawed in some way. Why would someone spend years of their lives making a lower salary working for the government when they could be making big bucks in the private sector? These are demanding jobs. Many people in government work endless hours with no overtime. They often become whistleblowers, patriots who point out waste, corruption and lies.

In most agencies and institutions in Washington, there is a public distinction between a lifer and a politically appointed person. Some of our country’s lifetime servants do understand the temporary nature of political appointees. Others may look down their noses at people who were given a job without any experience or proper vetting. Not all political appointees are bad people, but they do seem to get away with things.

Giuliani has become a bottom-feeder. He, like William Barr, has exposed his ideological partisan side. By their comments and actions, Rudy and Bill have taken off their masks of credibility. Trump is not infallible and by pure definition he cannot ever have a “perfect phone call.” During his conversation with the new president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump proved that he is just another smarmy politician, shaking down a government for help with his reelection campaign. Trump has been poisoned by Giuliani, played like a fiddle by his has-been lawyer. Rudy says he doesn’t take payment from Trump, so I guess the Donald is getting what he’s paying for. NOTHING but trouble. Giuliani has led the president into breaking the law.

Impeachment is coming. Rudy cannot stop it. Trump cannot stop it. As more and more information flows, the big question is which Republicans will side with the devil? Which Republicans will be known for life as those who let down their country? Facts are facts and the judges will make their decisions. America must be brought back to our greatness without Trump.

IN TRUMP WE TRUST

The Burden of Bad Management

In the last week, we have learned exactly who Donald J. Trump is and why he’s more than unhinged and unqualified to be president. My eyes and ears were caught by a statement from Pat Robertson. I respect his committed to God and his Holy Savior, but I rarely agree with his political statements. It became news when he pointed his gnarly finger at the White House.

On his 700 Club TV show, Robertson said, “I am absolutely appalled that the United States is going to betray those democratic forces in northern Syria.” He also offered that if Trump let the Turks invade northern Syria and attack the Kurds, he will lose his “Mandate of Heaven!” Wow, I had no idea that Trump was on God’s personal payroll, even though he seems to be on lots of payrolls these days.

Two Dictators

Robertson called Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan a “thug” and “dictator,” which proves that the “pious” religious broadcaster just might be more informed about geopolitical issues than our president. But then, no one ever said Trump knew much about global realities, well, except Trump himself. Robertson pointed out that there is a sizable Christian community among the Kurds.

Trump consistently told us that if we voted for Hillary Clinton America would be drawn into a war. Well, the Donald has just created a war with his bad management of the Syria situation. He threw the Kurds, our allies, under the bus, exposing them to squashing by the Turkish army. Once John Bolton left the administration, no one was left to “explain” things to Trump. We have just entered the most dangerous time of the century and Republicans don’t see their enabling as a potential threat to America’s security. And, oh yeah, North Korea has an atomic bomb. How did that happen?

Trump spends most of his time tweeting his discontent, racing to rallies to shout his lies and meeting with attorneys. He proves his distraction with his actions and schedule. He wastes time and jet fuel by standing on the north lawn screaming over the whine of Marine One. When can we get back to regular order with calm daily press briefings? When Donald Trump is ousted from office!

The Kurds have learned they cannot trust the USA when it comes to war and support. They did a deal with the devil and are now being repaid by the devil himself, Donald Trump. Surely, hundreds of thousands of Kurds will be displaced and thousands will lose their lives just because Trump failed to say NO to Turkey’s sultan in waiting.

It’s rather amazing that Trump didn’t see President Recep Tayyip’s strategy as nothing but a land grab. Trump probably thinks the Turkish resettlement plan is a good idea. Turkey takes some land, even it means killing a bunch of innocent people, then pushes all those immigrants who traveled to Turkey for safety into the newly “liberated” area. At worst, it’s ethnic cleansing, at best, it’s an invasion of another nation for the purpose of getting rid of unwanted people. I am totally appalled that the press and TV journalists called it a “military operation” rather than what it actually was, a fucking invasion.

I wonder if Trump has thought about doing the same thing on the Mexican border here. The entire world knows that Donald J. Trump cannot be trusted. What a horrible president and a contemptible human being! The time has come for America to cast off our political affiliations and come together to right this ship. Trump must be taken out of office as soon as possible. He simply isn’t smart enough to be president.

TRAITOR TRUMP

Everything is Based on Lies

I never thought I would say this, but Donald Trump is a traitor. He’s working for himself and not for the benefit and security of this nation. He has betrayed his oath of office and, as I said in my book DONALD TRUMP: Repeal, Replace, Impeach (based on the first 200 days in office), everything he does is based on lies. If provable lies are not a violation of trust with the electorate, then what is?

Let’s review the oath all presidents take: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” The phrase “faithfully execute” denotes loyalty to the country and the citizens who elected him. “Faithfully” is acting in a manner that is consistent with facts. So, when the President tells a lie to the country’s citizens he has committed a form of perjury. The offense of willfully telling an untruth in a court after having taken an oath or affirmation, is indeed perjury. In a sense, a president is under oath with every action on every day of their term.

Telling lies in the court of public opinion has never mattered to Trump, but what he’s doing now as president is an even larger crime, an action or omission that constitutes an offense that may be prosecuted by the state and is punishable by law. He put his hand on a Bible and said that he would protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. How is colluding with other nations to sway voters in this country protecting and defending? What are we waiting on? Does he have to burn the original Constitution on TV for Americas to come together and rid ourselves of this malevolent person?

Surely, we should never have to put a US President in front of a firing squad, but we certainly must use the provisions of law that give Congress the power to remove a bad President. I hate it when the typical Republican talking point is presented.. “You cannot impeach a president just because you don’t like him.” I want to look the speaker directly into their eyes and ask, “Can you tell me it’s okay for a president to lie to the American people about his desires to hurt other Americans?” Isn’t that a treacherous activity?

This morning (10-4-2019), former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci declared on CNN that the president is “a traitor to the United States and the most unamerican President we’ve had since Andrew Johnson.” For those who enjoy history repeating itself, Andrew Johnson was impeached by the House and narrowly won acquittal in the Senate trial. He was a terrible president that no one liked.

We now have text messages between Kurt Volker, Special Envoy to Ukraine, and officials there that confirm a quid pro quo between the White House and the new President in that country. To get a call, to get a visit invite and to receive military aid, Volodymyr Zelensky, schoolteacher-turned-actor and new President of Ukraine, was being PRESSURED to comply with the wishes of Donald Trump. And we now know, the president of our country was asking for Ukraine to release a statement that they were opening an investigation into Hunter and Joe Biden. The Ukrainian release was written, but didn’t see the light of day until now.

We can thank a loyal American whistleblower for bringing all this to light. And we need to have a united Congress to put this train-wreck-presidency behind us. It’s not erasing an election; it’s combating corruption in our own house. This president is a liar and traitor and he must be removed from office.

It’s time for the President and his family to release their tax returns. They must disclose if they have benefited from this presidency and whether they are beholden to another nation. Congress must pass a law that makes releasing tax returns a prerequisite for running for federal office. We must fortify our country from this ever happening again.

Republicans, this is no longer a joke to be waved away. Trump is a traitor and must be IMPEACHED! If nothing happens now, our democracy is at serious peril!
