FEDS RAID TRUMP ATTORNEY

Attorney–client privilege is dead!

There is a big difference between someone “breaking into” your property and a group of G-men knocking on your door holding a search warrant. We’re about to see that attorney-client privilege is not a loophole to get away with committing a crime.

If any people in the Trump circle who may have been witnesses to wrongdoing, or who may have been involved in illegal activities, believe that being a buddy with the Donald is a “get-out-of-jail” card, they are terribly mistaken.

Michael Cohen is a lawyer who is so close to the President and his companies that he has the status of a fixer and consigliere. This makes him more than an attorney of record. He was an employee of the Trump Organization. Trump and Cohen are so tight that, according to Cohen, he paid hush money to a porn star out of his own pocket without even telling Trump. This is bad legal form and, in the state of New York where Cohen practices, it’s a kind of proxy power of attorney that could place Cohen’s legal license in jeopardy.

When we heard from candidate Trump that he would hire the best people and that the government would be a well-run, efficient machine, we wondered what would happen. Now we know. This is a giant, rolling ball of confusion. Things said and things done have no clarity or purpose. The quick knee-jerk reactions and reparsing of verbal pronouncements by the President’s staff show a lack of organization, forethought and concentration.

We get it. One of the people who knows more about what Trump did and didn’t do over the last ten years has been raided. His computers, phones and tax documents were confiscated by the FBI. The Donald is completely freaked out. He opened a high-level meeting with top-ranking military personnel with these words, “So, I just heard that they broke into the office of one of my personal attorneys—a good man, it’s a new level of unfairness.” Trump’s unscripted moment continued with, “It’s an attack on our country in a true sense. It’s an attack on what we all stand for.”

It’s funny that the President would use the same words to describe this federal crime investigation as many intelligence experts and Congressional oversight members used to describe what Russia was doing during our elections. Trump has never used the words “attack on what we stand for“ to describe the interference and conspiracy to disrupt our elections.

With a meeting to decide what to do about the possible chemical warfare being waged against the Syrian people by their own leader, our kingpin was sitting with his arms folded across his chest in a protectionist position, whining about this latest move by our Justice Department. His priorities are obviously misdirected and horribly inefficient. He should have never let the press into that Pentagon meeting. It’s clear that he can’t kept his eye on the ball and concentrate on being President. If you have nothing to hide, then stop telling the world you have nothing to hide.

What our Great Orange Leader doesn’t comprehend is that Mueller’s investigation didn’t carry out these raids. Here’s what we learned from Michael Cohen’s attorney, Stephen Ryan, “Today, the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York executed a series of search warrants and seized the privileged communications between my client, Michael Cohen, and his clients.”

If the State of New York and the U.S. Attorney’s office there handles the case against Michael Cohen, Trump will not be able to pardon Cohen. This is a brilliant move by the Special Counsel’s office. It puts Cohen in a bind and cuts the communication cord between the White House and the Department of Justice, thwarting any interference Trump might attempt. Prosecutors in the Southern District will simply say, “We’ll take it from here.”

If Trump were to fire Jeff Sessions or Rod Rosenstein because they refuse to fire Mueller, someone else would have to be appointed. This would lead to a tough hearing in Congress asking for a guarantee of independence. It would all continue from where it is, and that is the beauty of our system and government structure. The Judiciary, Executive and Legislative branches must operate legally and independently.

As Trump cancels his trip to South America this weekend under the premise of wanting to watch the Syrian situation, we know he’s agonizing over the domestic legal problem he faces. Trump thinks that if he was away, he would be out of the loop, such strange paranoia.

Trump is not only an anti-globalist and isolationist, he is also someone who likes to stay home when things are going badly. His cocoon this week will be filled with only those who can boost his self-esteem and give him the advice he wants to hear. Some of those surrounding him could be legal minds suggesting ways to battle those who are out to get him. Today, Trump tweeted, “A TOTAL WITCH HUNT!!!”

And in the end, we will learn the truth. The most important goal of this whole mess is finding a way to bring trust, honor and respect back to the office of the President of the United States. We must all know that no one is above the law. For someone who called himself a “Law and Order” president, there seems to be very little order or respect for the law. How did this happen?

THIRTY DAYS IN THE HOLE

First Sentence in the Longer Story

Because of Donald Trump’s diversions, the first sentence handed down in the Russian interference investigation got little attention in the bigger scheme of things. Trump has been tweeting more frequently because he now believes to be running the show at the White House. Those who were there for moderating his puffery and misstatements have either left the building or have given up. It’s time for an intervention.

Alex van der Zwaan, a 33-year-old London-based lawyer, was ordered to serve 30 days in prison by a federal judge in the investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. The lawyer lied to the FBI in September and October of 2016 about his contacts with a business associate of onetime Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and with Manafort’s deputy, former Trump aide Rick Gates.

The sentenced lawyer is a Dutch citizen and the son-in-law of billionaire German Khan, who owns the Alfa Group, Russia’s largest financial and industrial investment group. REALLY? A Russian relationship to this and we are NOT hearing the media and press making a big deal about it? His father-in-law, Kahn, is a banker! He knows about Trump’s investments.

While the sentencing was underway, Trump was chattering about our terrible laws on border crossings and immigration as well as a “caravan” in Mexico, a word that was planted in his head by Fox News.

Now he surprises everyone about pulling out of Syria, which would please Putin and the Russians. We must remember that Bashar al-Assad, takes aid from Russia and Iran. Turkey also wants the United States to pull out of the region and stop giving aid to the Kurds. We have several thousand troops in Syria, with their primary order being the taking out of ISIS. Trump believes that effort is almost done so he, like Obama, has decided to bring the boys home, even when his commanders in the field urge against withdrawal.

Trump is bitch-slapping China with tariffs and rhetoric and they are not taking it sitting down. The U.S. stock market has been unstable and volatile since Trump has been complaining about how unfair the world is.

It’s amazing to me that when the President of the United States provokes a major trading player in general terms, China fires back slamming tariffs on specific products. The Chinese appear not only very prepared for Trump, but clearly more organized and faster acting than our pontificating phony President.

Gary Cohn was smart to have gotten out before the shit hit the fan. It’s unclear whether the administration’s predictions that this will all work out perfectly as planned, but the drama, grief and pain of the U.S. citizens are unnecessary.

If the Donald was the great deal maker he professes to be, all of this could have been taken care of behind the scenes or through the World Trade Organization. Then the transparency would have worked in our favor. But, no, Trump must be the bully. It’s the only method he understands, and other countries know that they cannot trust a word he says. To put it bluntly, Donald Trump is a two-faced liar.

Robert Mueller is a smart man. As the judge was handing down a small slap to the Dutch lawyer, Mueller was releasing a document to the judge in the Manafort case. Manafort has over 30 charges hanging over the former Trump campaign director including counts of bank fraud, tax fraud, failure to disclose foreign bank accounts, conspiracy to launder money, lying to the executive branch, and conspiracy against the United States. In this latest document, Mueller’s team answers the charges that he has drifted out of his investigatory focus.

The Special Counsel’s office said that Paul Manafort committed a crime or crimes by colluding with Russian government officials with respect to the Russian government’s efforts to interfere with the 2016 election for President of the United States, in violation of United States law.

Well, there you have it. They are using the word “colluding” and linking Manafort to the campaign and to possible crimes.

Alex van der Zwaan, the sentenced lawyer, is connected to Manafort and the campaign. They not only met with Russians, some of the people they talked to were Russian intelligence officers. To put that in plain English, they met with spies. This is more significant and leads the way for Trump to go under oath and probably deny a connection to any part of the mess. The President will lie and try to make it look like he was simply an uninvolved candidate. We already know he’s a second-rate executive and a horrible judge of people, but this is what we have. I didn’t vote for him.

Yesterday, Trump barked that he wants to send troops to the border with Mexico. And, while teachers’ strikes broke out around America, Trump’s Secretary of Education was AWOL.

The school and workplace shootings continue with little action on the part of the president. He plainly dropped that ball.

We have snow falling in April and no one in power thinks that climate change is real. We have cabinet secretaries accused of wasting taxpayer money, and our Great Orange Leader says he has their back.

What happened to the tough guy? What happened to the pro-business president? He’s attacking U.S. companies and success stories just to get even with people he doesn’t like. When our corporations and people are hurt by his complaints and lies, he demonstrates how he’s only a small, little man with an over-sized ego on his sleeve.

The longer story is that 35% of America have been taken to the cleaners. 65% of us are waiting for the other shoe to drop. If the result of Mueller’s investigation shows that Trump was just a bystander to the evils of over-zealous campaign people, he will still be responsible for dividing the nation, promoting xenophobia and racism and making it harder for less advantaged people to have a better life. He has made America less great, and we must figure out a way to stop him in his tracks.

The clouds around Stormy Daniels have been blown away for now, but in the end, Trump will be exposed as the person who feeds himself the two-scopes of ice cream, while everyone else gets only one. He’s nothing but a fornicator and an over-weight egotistical elitist who deserves more than thirty-days in the hole, without ice cream.

BLINDED BY THE WHITE LIGHT

Drama Queen in the Oval

If Donald Trump was a TV show, oh, wait a minute, he is a TV show. He is the main character in a dark comedy that robs viewers of their souls. When tuning in, we hear, “Previously on DONALD TRUMP: The first stupid President,” and then see and hear the same things he has been preaching over and over. But now, the leading lady, the orange drama queen, has his hands full. Russia is the problem, over there and over here.

The overtones of racism have always been part of this President’s character. He is silent on the challenge and problems of apparent police brutality and mistakes. Even the judicial branch cannot see the pain the people are feeling, and the lack of justice when it comes to brutal force of the police.

Trump doesn’t like Washington. Notice how often he runs away to Mar-A-Lago to get away from the trappings of power. He fires off tweets that show what he is really thinking, and then his staff must hustle behind the scene to edit the script to match the queen’s pronouncements.

As the Special Counsel digs deeper into the caper of Russian interference, we get little bits of scraps. The latest is that Rick Gates had met with Russian spies in October and November in 2016, right before the election. This is someone from the Trump campaign directly contacting Russians and Trump knew it, which is why he denied it so vehemently. Trump clearly lied, and now it’s beginning to look like there actually is a case of collusion, a case for obstruction of justice and maybe just plain treason.

The report that aides have leaked said they had been told not to publicize sending arms to the Ukraine or anything that would anger President Putin. The drama queen seems to be keeping some secret about her relationship with the villain.

In Paul the Apostle’s Second Epistle to the Thessalonians he said, “And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will destroy with the breath of his mouth, annihilating him by the manifestation of his coming. The coming of the lawless one is apparent in the working of Satan, who uses all power, signs, lying wonders, and every kind of wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason, God sends them a powerful delusion, leading them to believe what is false, so that all who have not believed the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness will be condemned.”

This being Good Friday, I’m not sure why it is good but let’s keep a biblical analysis here, I would content that there is a great amount of wisdom in that passage. The lawless is Hillary Clinton, as presented by the Lord, who, in this case, is Donald Trump (the way the evangelicals see him). And he killed her with the breath of his mouth. This is saying that any opposition to Trump’s rule is the work of Satan, or the anti-Christ, or, in Trump’s mind, the “deep state.”

As Trump sees it, those against him are using all of their power, signs, lying wonders and wicked deception to thwart the Great Orange Leader’s movements. It’s because the enemy refuses to love his truth.

Trump is the anti-Christ and Satan incarnate. God has sent this powerful delusion to throw us all off the track of truth. He is doing everything he can to make us believe what is false. If we just turn to the scriptures, we will clearly see what is going on with this false prophet in a passion play of the destruction of democracy.

With the Russians launching ICBM missiles last night (it is called SATAN 2, not kidding), missiles that Putin claims cannot be shot down with our defense system, Trump has a real problem with Russia and he should back off talking about how the Russian investigation is a hoax and witch hunt. He must finally admit that Russia is not his friend, and that Putin is playing him like a fiddle and that we might be getting closer to the end of times. Ooouch!

Trump, with his bad thinking, just may wake up the witches of president’s past. On this first day of Passover, it might be good to go old school (Testament) and quote Leviticus 20:6, “I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute themselves by following them, and I will cut them off from their people.”

In the time this was written, “mediums” and “spiritists” were the people who said they had special ordained power and could know the thoughts of gods and predict the future. Clearly, the Holy Bible is condemning those who have prostituted their values by following Trump, and, indeed, they have been cut off from their people. The delusional maniac at the helm of the good ship U.S.A. has driven far away from anyone who disagrees with the Donald.

We can only hope that there is a God and that he will rise and send us some help to deal with the antichrist we have created in the image of ourselves. I guess, in the image of Roseanne, if you believe the hype of the holy babble of TV.

ARGUMENTUM AD HOMINEM

Trump’s Tactics and Indiscretions Exposed

Don’t let the Latin get in the way. Ad hominem means “to the man” and adds precision to the title of this piece. It means employing a fallacious, argumentative strategy to cloud the subject of a discussion by attacking the character, motive, or any other attribute of the person making the argument. This tactic attempts to move the listener away from the substance of the point, fact or argument. There is also a risk that one could be making things worse in the long run by employing the fallacy of irrelevance.

When Donald Trump was accused of sexual misconduct by more than 17 women right before the Presidential election in 2016, he basically said they were all liars. Trump believes that a man can simply deny to make these cases go away. And when the complainants keep up the pressure, he turns to his argumentum ad hominem routine by discrediting people or buying them off with an NDA, a Non-Disclosure Agreement that keeps another from talking about something or keeping the knowledge of some business matter confidential.

One of the aspects of the #MeToo movement is allowing women who have been sexually harassed or violated, and then forced to sign an NDA, to be unchained from these agreements so they can tell their stories. There is some tradition in U.S. law that if revealing information helps other victims, or prevents future wrongdoings, a court could find that public good outweighs a piece of paper. While Harvey Weinstein probably used power and influence in his industry to keep women quiet, Donald J. Trump simply whips out his checkbook and buys silence. This is a matter of record, therefore a fact.

By attacking the character, motive, or some other attribute of an adversary, Trump attempts to force the viewer’s attention away from any substance that person may be making. By calling Marco Rubio, “Little Marco,” candidate Trump took the focus off any productive plan Rubio might have laid out for America. By continually using the term, “Lyin’ Ted Cruz,” the Donald was able to position the Texas Senator as someone who shouldn’t be believed. Now that Trump is the President of the United States of America, every statement, tweet and comment becomes the policy of the White House. It’s very clear that after a year into this mess, our Great Orange Leader doesn’t care about truth, facts and real policy. If confronted, he will lie.

Today (3-21-2018), Trump is pouting around the White House about leaks from his administration. If the stories in Michael Wolff’s best seller Fire and Fury are true, one of the biggest leakers just might be Trump himself. He spends endless hours watching TV and talking on the phone to people who massage his frail ego.

What might be an uncorroborated rumor that comes up on a late-night phone call with one of his cronies, gets codified by the Commander and Chief. History will show that Trump’s own loose lips were the source of many of the leaked items that piss him off. He’s like a teenage girl gossiping about the day’s events at school.

As more and more journalistic and legal heat is applied to the 45th President, we see more push back and ad hominem from this narcissistic, soulless human being.

Just minutes ago, as the snow came down around the White House, Donald Trump tweeted a quote from Alan Dershowitz: “Special Council is told to find crimes, whether a crime exists or not. I was opposed to the selection of Mueller to be Special Council. I am still opposed to it. I think President Trump was right when he said there never should have been a Special Council appointed because there was no probable cause for believing that there was any crime, collusion or otherwise, or obstruction of justice!”

Besides being a well-known author on legal matters, Alan Dershowitz was one of the attorneys for O.J. Simpson. He’s a strange person to be supporting Trump. Dershowitz is a Democrat and he supported Hilary Clinton. He is strongly pro-Israel and holds a rare position on the Second Amendment and gun control. Dershowitz says that the right to bear arms has “no place in modern society” and has even supported repealing the amendment.

The interesting opinion that “there was no probable cause” in the attempts to gloss over many facts of the 2016 election is wrong. We now know that Russian operatives attempted to manipulate the opinions and attitudes of voters in America. We know that a company named Cambridge Analytica clipped 50 million Facebook profiles and the Trump campaign used these to push Trump’s narrative. We’re not sure just yet whether laws were broken, but it’s certainly probable cause for an investigation. If we believe Jim Comey, former Director of the FBI, Trump did ask the FBI to “go easy” on his National Security Director, Michael Flynn. I’m not sure what planet Alan Dershowitz is on, but Flynn did plead guilty to charges of lying to the FBI. Does that suggest that appointing Special Counsel was a good idea, or just some frivolous act by a partisan United States Deputy Attorney General?

Is Dershowitz, a TV commentator, planning to pitch for the position of Attorney General if Trump fires Jeff Sessions? Time will tell, but Trump’s attempt to move the listener away from the substance of the point, fact or argument is obvious. Argumentum ad hominem might not be a term Trump has ever heard, but his constant negative putdowns and attacks on America citizens begs this question. When do we get back to a normal president with his or her focus placed on the task of doing the people’s business? Until things change, we have nothing but a large, steaming pile of his business to handle every day.

WHO’S THE MORON NOW?

President Trump Fires Rex Tillerson

When Donald Trump was confronted by the press about the chaos in the White House, he pushed back and said, “Everybody wants to work at the White House,” and explained that he likes chaos. It wasn’t that long ago (last October) that the Donald chided Tillerson for his desire to create a dialog with North Korea with his tweet: “I told Rex Tillerson, our wonderful Secretary of State, that he is wasting his time trying to negotiate with Little Rocket Man…” But now, Trump jumps to get the meeting with the brutal dictator he maligned.

And like the chicken shit President Trump is, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was fired by phone and then again by tweet today 3-13-18: “Mike Pompeo, Director of the CIA, will become our new Secretary of State. He will do a fantastic job! Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service! Gina Haspel will become the new Director of the CIA, and the first woman so chosen. Congratulations to all!” It’s clear that Donald Trump doesn’t care about human feelings.

Perhaps Rex, as some reporting has suggested, was Vladimir Putin’s choice for Secretary of State because he had previously done business with Russia. Perhaps that story worried our great Orange Leader. Or maybe Trump is all pumped up by his cronies’ pronouncement from the House Intelligence Committee of “No Collusion.” Maybe the Donald was more confident today and just had to fire someone.

Was Rex too outspoken and honest for Mr. Trump? It just might be that Rex was suited only for business and not for the task of international affairs and foreign policy. This is just another argument that soils the notion that “great” business people in government are better than experienced political operatives.

Rather than focus on the imaginary “reasoning” of a person like Trump, we need to observe how all this turnover looks to the whole world; it’s bad. Trump is impossible to work for and that is why all his employees and lovers are forced to sign non-disclosure agreements. His legal eagles build barriers around this man trying to keep him safe and aboveboard. Trump doesn’t fit the mold of a presidential person, whether in government or a public company, so why do we expect him to follow the rules?

While his legal team is distracted by Stormy Daniels and her desire to tell her story about an immoral affair 12 years ago with then citizen Trump, the special counsel continues his quest to find out how Trump has operated in business, campaign and life. The House Republicans may have thrown Trump a PR bone with their FAKE vindication announcement, and the Democrats, because of their minority status, can do little except conduct more interviews. The House investigation into Russian meddling has been nothing but a joke. Politicians cannot be open and honest and good judges in these matters.

It’s rather ironic that Trump’s firing of Tillerson eclipsed this Republican stunt. This administration has so much dirty laundry, and the news cycle moves quickly, so it won’t be long before we find out who broke the law and when. And then, those same House Republicans will have to decide whether they are loyal to country or party. Few have the backbone to deal with the truth.

If Trump cannot work with someone, there is no need for the taxpayers to pay them. Trump continues to believe that he, and only he, can fix all the ills in the world. If you work for him, you know that you must make him feel good or get out of his way. Those who kiss his ass seem to have his ear. What a childish person we have as the chief executive of such a great country. Trump is dangerous to himself, which means he’s treacherous for America.

As Trump shuffles the players around, we should NOT feel that any of this will spell stability in this government. Donald J. Trump will fire more people because he has bought into his TV persona that firing people moves the story forward. He’s using more Mark Burnett (the producer of The Apprentice) methods than any schooled political science procedures. Trump is an anti-logic, anti-science and anti-human resource kind of guy. If he was the head of a public company, he would be under deep investigation for this kind of turnover. Let’s remember that everyone in the constantly updated “you’re fired” picture were people HE HIRED. His judgement must be questioned.

There is no evidence that this will ever end. There is no reason to believe this is good for America. When he finally breaks the country, who will put it all back together again?

ONE TRICK TRUMP

He’s Never Going to Stop Running

Back in the early days of William Randolph Hearst, he used his newspapers to pick winners and demean people he didn’t like. This became glorified by the term Yellow Journalism; presenting little or no legitimate well-researched news but rather using eye-catching headlines, exaggerated news events, scandal-mongering and sensationalism for increased newspaper sales.

Today, the implication of the opposite is the term “Fake News,” which is the slogan people in power now use to denigrate the news media they do not agree with or to slam stories they want the journalists to ignore. We see Trump playing this one trick when in the three-ringed circus of the campaign trail. If Trump keeps pitching for President, he will never convince any thinking person that he is a “real” president.

Steve Mnuchin told Chuck Todd that one cannot take things the President says at a campaign rally too seriously. Mnuchin bristled when Todd suggested that the press should maybe not cover these rally events. Todd failed to mention in this discourse with the Secretary of the Treasury what Trump said in Pittsburgh the night before. Speaking about NBC’s “Meet the Press, a show now headed by Sleepy-Eyes Chuck Todd. He is a sleeping son-of-a-bitch, I’ll tell you!”

There are some who say, “Oh, this is Trump being Trump,” while others are quick to criticize the President no matter what he says. His jokes are mean spirited and negative. What is really at stake is the presidency as a respected part of American culture. We have a clown with a face full of makeup, sniffling his way through speeches with either a teleprompter to make him seem normal, or endless, unguarded extemporaneous political babbling and childish putdowns that make him a small man exploiting his power without regard for leadership qualities.

Trump’s disregard for the spirit of the First Amendment is part of this one trick pony he rides. His censure of the press in general terms is an attempt to dismiss any controversy, misstep or criminal activity in his administration. He hangs on the phrase “No Collusion” like a man who has something to hide.

The First Amendment must be protected from Trump’s rhetoric and quest to weaken a free press. His demigod approach to the executive branch of the government needs to be checked at every step. His little moves will add up and must be analyzed by a free press.

Trump’s Sunday morning, tweets instead of Church “executive time” gave us this: “The Failing New York Times purposely wrote a false story stating that I am unhappy with my legal team on the Russia case and am going to add another lawyer to help out. Wrong. I am VERY happy with my lawyers, John Dowd, Ty Cobb and Jay Sekulow. They are doing a great job and have shown conclusively that there was no Collusion with Russia… just excuse for losing. The only Collusion was that done by the DNC, the Democrats and Crooked Hillary. The writer of the story, Maggie Haberman, a Hillary flunky, knows nothing about me and is not given access.”

The fact that Trump cannot let go of this issue shows that he doesn’t believe in his innocence. Like many people with a “martyr” complex, the Donald has a need to constantly slam the past. He positions himself against those who came before to get “credit” for anything good that happens, while taking no responsibility for anything his team may have done that didn’t work or, worse, was illegal. He seems to be worried more about historical positioning the future and comparisons with the past.

Trump may not even realize that he shows signs of being a white nationalist apologizer. Perhaps he is not smart enough to realize that his messaging makes it seem like being black in America equals guilt. Most importantly, his ideological way of viewing everything from trade to the environment to the legal system will have to repaired by the next president. Trump has clearly made America less great. I would advance that Donald J. Trump has hurt America with his ignorance and bad judgment.

This President of the United States is a bad role model for our children. His need to debase people and spread hate diminishes the advancements we have made as a society. Donald Trump is the prime cause of our national divide. His lack of desire or ability to bring people together is a fact right there for everyone to see. Some, however, want to believe what they require to believe. They have joined the lie and are complicit. When the money they think they are going to get doesn’t arrive, who will they blame then? Trump will be long gone.

THINGS ARE GETTING REAL NOW

The White House Walls Are Thin

It takes a special kind of person to be president. We often don’t know the character of a president until years later. When historians sift through facts, fantasies, fallacies and foibles, we eventually learn the truth. In the past we found out that one of our leaders believed God was talking to them, while another was comforting himself in the dark of night with spirits of a drinkable kind.

The current President sees himself through the lens of a hero coming to conquer all that he believes is wrong with America. In fact, if you asked Donald J. Trump who is the best president ever, he would cast a vote for himself without blinking. Many political experts believed that the end of the Donald’s political career would follow the Access Hollywood tape of Trump saying that he was so famous he could just “grab some pussy.” Let’s not be children here. Many of us knew exactly what kind of man we were getting when he was elected. Still, there were other Americans gullible enough to think it was nothing.

An event underlining the character of Donald J, Trump, the Stormy Daniels saga, will not go away. The intelligence pointing to something that happened in the Miss Universe Pageant, which Trump owned, is funny to me. He tweeted about the event: “The Miss Universe Pageant will be broadcast live from MOSCOW, RUSSIA on November 9th, 2013. A big deal that will bring our countries together! Do you think Putin will be going to The Miss Universe Pageant? If so, will he become my new best friend?”

He was sending a message to Russia, with love, that he was enthralled by the power and money of the country. It exposed an unhealthy desire for its leader. Yes, with Trump able to get whatever “pussy” he could ever want, why not a bromance with the leader of the unfree world?

Steve Bannon’s made a brilliant move to nullify the Access Hollywood tape and dozens of women who accused Trump of sexual misconduct by pushing the Bill Clinton accusers back into the spotlight and Trump was elected. It was as if what was in front of our eyes didn’t exist. Well, now we have a sordid affair with a porn actress that Trump’s consigliere, Michael Dean Cohn, paid $130,000 to gain her silence, or else.

We now know that the “or else” is a payment of $1 million if she breaks the non-disclosure agreement, a small price to pay to free the maiden from the legal tentacles of the mean man in the house at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. He had an affair shortly after his son was born and one can argue that to save his marriage, or perhaps his presidential bid, he had to buy out the woman. If he paid her to save his campaign, that is an illegal campaign contribution that can entangle his business as well. Who paid Stormy Daniels? Where did the money come from? Perhaps it came from one of Trump’s not-for-profit foundations?

And how can this not nudge the evangelicals into a questioning phase of Trump’s fake relationship with bible-thumbing groups? He is not a man of character and, like Putin, the end justifies the means. He got them to “follow him” just as false prophets have tricked holy men and women before. When will they stand up for Jesus and get rid of this money changer for good?

Trump doesn’t care about anyone but himself. He says he like chaos and appreciates when people disagree with him, and then he fires them. Just like an affair with a two-bit actress, he uses and then discards people. He makes his henchmen sign non-disclosure agreements because he always has something to hide. I am sure Melania Trump had to sign a legal document to become the First Lady.

Trump is the bull in the china shop who walks away without paying for the damage. He said he was proud to use the bankruptcy laws to escape financial ruin, and then not pay taxes for years after. He has committed wrongdoings in the name of democracy, or America, or male-pride, or a serious need to be loved. It’s starting to get real.

The Stormy Daniels payment and people leaving the administration like rats leaving a sinking ship cannot be avoided. You can bribe people to say everything is okay and chaos is good, but, turnover is turnover. There’s a cost when people leave, and the investment in and training of new people, always slows the wheels of accomplishment. Trump’s tariff deal was seriously under baked without the details needed for a major policy announcement. Trump’s move was amateurish, at best, and Gary Cohn knew it, so he resigned.

This will never get better until Trump quits. Or maybe we must remove him. He’s just not that good at this president thing.

WHEN LIES BECOME PERJURY

Indictments are Piling up Around the President

I spent the weekend reading the multiple indictments against Paul Manafort and Richard Gates, plus the Democratic response to the biased and debasing Devin Nunes memo released earlier. It’s not fun reading, but easier to comprehend than the typical congressional bill.

What I learned about these two dastardly men is they both have the propensity to cheat and trick the system at every turn. For Manafort and Gates to be involved in a presidential campaign and transition team is a disgrace which displays a of lack of judgement and vetting on the part of the Trump people.

Can we really assume that Donald J. Trump, the candidate and the president-elect, didn’t know how these scumbags operated? Clearly, they would do anything to get what they wanted. If Manafort did what they say he did, including bribing leaders and former leaders of European countries to bend their comments to help corrupt politicians in Ukraine, he would certainly bring that same tactic to our presidential election. Remember the credo, “the end justifies the means.”  Machiavelli would be proud.

While the President discredits those who have the job of investigating bad actors and blames Obama for everything negative happening in America, we are not getting the truth. It’s all soundbites and inconsistent lies. If only the lies were consistent.

While Gates and Manafort were in the thick of the campaign to elect Trump, they were maneuvering through the RNC platform and changing the planks to eliminate their position on arming and aiding the Ukraine. They were, in effect, doing Russia’s work by getting the party to “go easy” on Russian interference in the region. Trump claims he was not involved in this change, which is believable to a point. The Donald is not a detail man.

These two hucksters had $75 million flow through their phony companies and fake bank accounts, where they laundered more than $30 million. They bilked banks by getting illicit loans on properties they owned in America. If one takes the time to read the indictments that Robert Mueller’s team has produced, they will clearly see why three of the bad guys have pleaded guilty. One could also assume that when these pleaders cough up information on the campaign players, someone is going to pay for their dirty deeds.

And now we have the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Minority memo, which covers the Democrats view of what was left out of the Devin Nunes memo which was released a few weeks ago. Significant portions of this missive have been redacted to, we assume, protect intelligence people in the field. However, those big black strikeouts could also be politically purposeful.

If you want to have a boil-down, I can tell you that much of what the President says about this memo proves that he hasn’t read it. Or, perhaps, he just says the same thing repeatedly. But there are some basic truths flowing through this memo.

The first FACT is the investigation into Carter Page started seven weeks before the FBI and those looking into Page ever saw the Steele dossier. Trump continues to latch onto his views like a snapping turtle waiting for the sun to go down.

The next FACT to consider is that Page was on the FBI’s radar for some time, as you would be if you traveled to Russia and met with Russian spies. Nobody seems to make a big deal about the fact that Carter Page lived in Moscow from 2004 to 2007. Did Trump and his transition team, which included Devin Nunes, know about Page’s Russian connection?

Really, why wouldn’t the Feds be keeping their eyes on Page? Once again, it’s Trump fault for not vetting his people and finding out if they had ties to Russia. Perhaps Trump and his campaign thought that it was a good thing and there was some value Putin’s team could provide the Trump campaign.

The mystery of Trump stepping around the horseshit littered timeline of what happened during his campaign and transition is UNBELIEVABLE. One of the smoking guns in this memo, that few have pointed out, is the line: “… the FBI would have continued its investigation, including against [BLACKED OUT] individuals, even if it had never received information from Steele, never applied for a FISA warrant against Page, or if the FISC had rejected the application.” The questions surrounding the redaction are how many individuals and who are they? Without that information it’s impossible for the people of America to have a clear understanding of this whole mess.

But there is a partisan reason those juicy pieces of information were taken out, and we all know it. The Special Counsel, through the FBI, wants to prevent these showboat Congressional committees screwing up their investigation.

From my perspective, neither memo should have been written or released. And neither memo proves that there wasn’t a conspiracy or collusion. The only document that will be useful and honest will be the final report from the Special Counsel’s office.

America needs to get back to law, justice and order to become a “normal” country again. And the drivers for this normalcy will include the impeachment of Donald Trump.

POLITICIZING & PANDERING

Trump’s Blame Game of Negativity

Donald J Trump continues to make himself the “issue” rather than being a leader. When Trump is being Trump, he energizes the opposition. His lack of political intelligence is stunning in so many ways. He is given opportunity after opportunity to demonstrate leadership qualities to unite the country, but he is unable to escape from his braggadocio and blunders. He chooses to politicize and pander rather than step up and become a president. He lives in a world of cheap put-downs, conspiracy theories and fraudulent excuses.

It was said that the President didn’t play golf this weekend out of respect for the students who were killed at Parkland’s Stoneman Douglas High School. But in his idle time, he disrespected America with more than 13 tweets that blamed most of all that is happening on everyone but the Russians. In his rants, there were no plans for prevention of Russian interference in the future and no additional punishments for what the Russians did to manipulate the election results. The man is impotent on Russia.

The new marching orders from the Great Orange Leader say there was “no collusion” with the Trump campaign and what the Russians did had no effect on the election. That interpretation of the 37-page indictment seems conclusive and self-serving.

We all know that this isn’t the end of the investigation, right? The Donald blamed Obama for his lack of action on the matter, but the indictment makes it clear that the illegal acts were focused on the 2016 election. In fact, it mentions the last election almost 20 times. And the sanctions Congress passed almost unanimously haven’t been launched against the evil Putin. Why is the White House not acting?

Trump, accusing the FBI of being too busy on the Russian investigation to act on signs that the shooter in Florida was ready to execute students, displayed one of his most shallow political actions. Through the Twitter Trump, we see the unfiltered, mean and manipulative man who thinks that everyone is out to get him. The tweets show his insecurity and fear of the Mueller investigation. He knows something.

Some people aren’t seeing the clues in the indictment. Back in June 2017, the Texas edition of The Patch ran a story that talked about a San Antonio-based digital operation overseen by senior White House adviser Jared Kushner and how it was under increased scrutiny.

According to Federal Election Commission filings in a story here, the web design and digital marketing company that Brad Parscale owns received more than $91 million from the Trump campaign and was in cahoots with one of Trump’s Super PACs. Brad Parscale joined the Trump Campaign and ran something they referred to as Project Alamo, which was covered in a 60 Minutes piece after Trump won the election. You can watch what they did here.

Paragraph 31 of the Federal indictment of 13 Russian nationals claims that the defendants and their co-conspirators, posing as U.S. persons, communicated with real U.S. persons affiliated with a Texas-based grassroots organization. Could this organization be Parscale’s company? Could this be the breadcrumb that leads to the future indictment of Jared Kushner?

Trump knows what Kushner and Parscale did and is doing everything he can to keep up the illusion that his campaign and administration owes nothing to the Russians. They did nothing nefarious to get him elected. It’s probably true that because of Trump’s complicated banking arrangements and because he rarely gets into detail, he may have no idea how much of his personal finances are intertwined with Russian oligarchs’ monies. He may have gotten dirty money along the way, but we will never know because he hasn’t released his tax returns.

Trump’s tweets of today (2-19-2018), about Oprah Winfrey’s appearance on 60 Minutes, seem motivated by some people on that program being negative about the President. Donald Trump suffers from a grand illusion that everyone must love him. He attacks anyone who speaks their mind about his negative actions, deeds and words. I am sure he felt Oprah didn’t do a good job standing up for him. Trump’s frame of mind is totally transparent. He’s afraid he’s going to be found out.

America must now come together about what Russia has done and figure out a way to move Trump off his cock-blocking of the charge against Russia. It’s time to do something about the cyber-attack of a foreign power. If the mainstream media wants to get beyond the Donald’s blatant manipulation of the narrative, they must deepen the investigation of what happened. What actions are being taken? It’s time to connect the dots.

A Russian company organized a propaganda effort to change the outcome of our election and, while doing so, used stolen American identities to conduct fraud. There should be a screaming alarm going off in the White House. The failure to acknowledge this indictment indicates that no siren has been triggered.

The net result of Trump’s pandering to his base on this issue is making red state Republicans feel that Russian interference was not a big deal. Can this really be happening? From wife-beaters in the White House, to another horrible shooting, to the attempts to blame the FBI for all his problems, Donald J. Trump is NOT a real President.

On this President’s Day, I confess with grave concern that we have the most dangerous president ever. If he isn’t stopped, Trump will absolutely make America less great. He is damaging our country and democracy. We must remain strong, however, because getting rid of him will cause more violence in America. After watching the Oprah Winfrey focus group on 60 Minutes, it’s clear that Trump supporters have been brainwashed like the good comrades he wants them to be.

HARD FACTS & HUSH MONEY

Trump’s Way of Doing Government

There isn’t much a fish can do once that hook is in its mouth and the taut line is being pulled closer to the boat. It can attempt to swim away, inflicting pain on itself and damage to its most important orifice, but one must do whatever one can to get away from the peril.

Donald Trump has, once again, demonstrated vividly his convoluted and confused soul. Yesterday (2-13-2018), was not a good day for the Commander in Chief of the United States of America.

We all watched with great interest as the top men who protect us from evil doers around the world and at home: Dan Coats, Director of National Intelligence, Admiral Mike Rogers, Director of the National Security Agency, Mike Pompeo, Director of Central Intelligence Agency, Lt. General Robert Ashley, Director Defense Intelligence Agency, Robert Cardillo, Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and Christopher Wray, Director of the FBI went before Congress to bring the Senate Intelligence Committee up to speed on worldwide threats.

Disclosed there were some cold, hard facts about what this country faces from global and local risks to our security. It was clear, beyond the usual partisan questions, that these group of highly respected experts disagreed with President Trump’s assessment of Russian interference in our country’s business and democratic processes. Our Great Orange Leader’s view that the threat is not real and only a punchline for a red state rally is not acceptable. Trump must be a better leader on this issue.

What the president says to these gentlemen behind close doors is unknown, but what they demonstrated yesterday was less theater and more reality check. Dan Coats was very clear, “Persistent and disruptive cyber operations will continue against the United States and our European allies using elections as opportunities to undermine democracy. Frankly, the United States is under attack.” And now we wait for the President to either come out of the closet on this crisis or remain in the dark, therefore sending the wrong message to Putin and to the citizens he has sworn to protect.

All six men agreed that we have a problem and that the Russian interference is real. Astonishingly, none of them have been instructed or ordered by President Trump to do anything about it. Imagine an executive not addressing a problem or attack from a competitor in business. That would be dereliction of duty and a blatant disregard of their fiduciary responsibility, a reason for dismissal from any public company.

And through the questioning of these security officials, we learned that Chris Wray is not about to share information or discuss the Russian investigation with Donald Trump. That was very good for America.

But one of the other answers he gave sent a shiver through the spin doctors in the West Wing. After trying to pin the Rob Porter Scandal on the FBI, Trump’s current whipping boy, Wray disclosed that their work on Porter’s clearance was completed and sent to the White House a long time ago. In fact, if the procedures were followed as Wray described, the president’s people probably knew about Porter’s problem last year and covered it up.

We’re all numbed by the flow of lies and fabrications from the people surrounding Trump. Most likely, these lies come directly from the horse’s mouth.

There have been endless cable news quarter-hours discussing whether the White House takes security clearances seriously and if retired General John Kelly should be dismissed. Not sure why replacing Kelly would make a difference, when you still have the head of the snake. Without removing Trump from office, we will continue to suffer through disjointed messaging, inconsistent plans, inept positions and worse, LIES, LIES, LIES!

Just when you think yesterday was completely a loss for Trump, it became even worse. News broke last night that the Donald’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, when answering a Federal Election Committee inquiry about the source of money paid to a porn star, admitted he paid the “actress” $130,000 out of his own pocket. To prove that Trump’s campaign didn’t violate campaign finance laws, Cohen fell on his sword for the President. That payment was paid during the campaign and after the Access Hollywood “pussy grabbing” tape was released. Not sure if anyone declared the payment as a business expense, but then, Trump hasn’t released his tax returns. More secrets.

We don’t know if Donald Trump had an affair with Stormy Daniels 11 years ago, but we do know that she got more than one hundred thousand dollars from Trump’s attorney for something. It would be hard to determine how much that was per hour, but then she was clearly a private contractor. If this doesn’t bother the evangelicals, then Christianity is surely doomed to collapse within itself. When do the leaders of the church stand up and condemn this man?

And why do we keep hearing phrases like, “on-going” or “I don’t want to get into process” as armor against questions seeking the truth. Is Donald Trump capable of sensitivity and honesty?

If hard, cold facts and admission of hush money paid for hot, illicit sex don’t make a difference with those who support this lunatic, then maybe we are off the tracks as a nation. The next step in this saga is the release of the Robert Mueller findings. Trump can hear the footsteps. He hasn’t been heard from on Twitter for 16 hours, gee, nothing to see, or just nothing to say? Sad, really sad.
