CANCER ON THE PRESIDENCY

The Wrecking Crew of Giuliani & Powell

Some people get thrown into the spotlight of American history even when they don’t deserve any oxygen. Still, we give them the glory, and by “we” I mean the ever-needy media with their cameras and microphones catching the mucus of lies that drips out of their collective mouths.

I lived in New York when the Twin Towers collapsed after the 9-11 terrorist attacks and saw the leadership Mayor Rudolph Giuliani showed to the entire world during it all. I also attended a seminar where he spoke about leadership. It was illuminating and inspiring, so he wasn’t always like this. By “this” I mean his recent highly partisan and hairbrained activities on behalf of President Donald Trump.

I think Rudy started to fall off the logic track when he ran for president and obsessively used the 9-11 attacks as the reason why people should vote for him. Rudy’s “hero” claims, however, bothered those who lost family members and friends during the attack. After his unsuccessful run, Rudy started practicing law and using his fame and celebrity to gain high paying contracts to “advise” nations and people around the world.

Rudy Bleeding For Trump

As Giuliani became closer with Trump, he began a sort of conspiratorial process, warping the details of actual happenings or completely fabricating others to keep him tight with our bulbous leader. He showed Trump how easily he could morph pure, outrageous lies into “facts.” Trump was just paranoid enough to believe he needed Giuliani by his side, and this gave “the mayor” a golden opportunity to manipulate the President.

While Rudy was in Ukraine, he took a few facts at face value and then created a dark “deep state plot” around them, Russian leader Vladimir Putin played Rudy to increase his hold on the 45th President. While he was being tried for impeachment in the Senate, the Donald went crazy looking for defense lawyers. He found lots of willing partisan has-beens to lie for him, like Jeffrey Epstein’s good friend Alan Dershowitz.

Along that path, Trump picked up Sidney Powell, a lawyer from North Carolina with a connection to many cases and comments that blended right into the conspiracy-driven notions of our demented President. During a recent press conference held at the RNC in Washington, Ms. Powell showed her real skin.

Sydney Powell

Powell’s unsubstantiated conspiracy theories about election interference were disconcerting, even for some Republican supporters of Trump. Sidney claimed there was a “deep state plot” to frame Trump’s disgraced advisor Michael Flynn and, as his attorney, she was involved in getting Flynn to reverse his guilty plea.

Sidney Powell has promoted personalities and concepts associated with the QAnon conspiracy group. She has discussed a supposed effort involving international Communists, “globalists,” George Soros, Hugo Chávez (who has been dead since 2013), the Clinton Foundation, thousands of Democratic and Republican officials, including Trump ally and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, to rig the election in favor of Joe Biden. Soon enough after spewing her falsehoods, she became the victim of the “cancel culture” of Fox News.

While making the rounds at all the pro-Trump media shows, Sidney Powell laid the foundation for her own demise. Tucker Carlson didn’t like Tucker’s approach, and he attacked her during a ten-minute monologue at the top of his Fox News show saying, “What Powell was describing would amount to the single greatest crime in American history; millions of votes stolen in a day. Democracy destroyed. The end of our centuries-old system of government.” He further disclosed that she became “angry and told us to stop contacting her” when his producers invited Ms. Powell to appear on his show and share her evidence. After that, the Trump sycophants attacked Fox News and their boy Tucker because he wanted to expose the evidence. Why?

The “cancel culture” that Tucker Carlson decries every night is very much alive at Fox News, and for years Rupert Murdoch has employed that approach to those he doesn’t like, just as Trump has. So, what would be more important to Trump? The opinions of Rush Limbaugh, Mark Leven and the far-right loonies, or his desire to overturn the election results? Ha! Do I have to ask?

Man Doing Brain Measurement

Last night, November 22, 2020, Sidney Powell’s Wikipedia page was suddenly updated: “Trump campaign lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis issued a statement that Powell is “practicing law on her own” and is not (or is no longer) a part of the Trump legal team.” According to The Washington Post, “The Trump campaign cut ties with Powell because she was seen as harming Trump’s broader legal efforts, and that President Trump disliked the coverage she received on Tucker Carlson Tonight.” So, score another point for Tucker, who clearly must be the actual President of the United States.

Thus, we’re down to Trump’s two loyal lawyers, Jenna Ellis and Rudy Giuliani. Their legal arguments are just sanitized versions of what Sidney Powell was saying. When a lawyer of the sitting Republican President attacks a loyal Republican Governor of Georgia because the people of his state voted for Biden, I guess that is a road too far. Not that I would go out of my way to defend Brian Kemp, the voter suppression king of the south, but he signed the document that gave Joe Biden the state because he was doing what he is legally bound to do. He followed the law and didn’t cheat.

The ugly effect of Giuliani on the Trump presidency harkens back to the words John Dean said to President Richard Nixon during Watergate, “I think that there’s no doubt about the seriousness of the problem we’ve got. We have a cancer within — close to the presidency, that’s growing. It’s growing daily. It’s compounding. It grows geometrically now because it compounds itself.” Those are the actual words that Mr. Dean spoke to Nixon. Giuliani is a cancerous growth on Donald Trump’s legacy and presidency, but there is no one brave enough to make the rotund orange leader understand.

Sidney Powell was thrown under the bus because Rudy didn’t manage her, as if anyone could. They simply dismissed her because that’s how they roll. The American public has fired Donald John Trump, but he hasn’t yet received the word. He’s a fool surrounded by suckers and dupes, stark proof that Trump never took the job seriously. He’s just a spoiled brat game player on the playground, but he holds nuclear weaponry. He must be neutralized and removed, ASAP.

SUNSHINE CONSPIRACY THEORY

Civil War: Trump’s Demonic Escape Route

Back in April of this year, our “really stable genius” of a leader spoke, “I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. And I think you said you’re going to test that too… So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute – that’s pretty powerful.” Most of the world thought the guy was off his rocker, but we knew he was being serious, in his stupid, befuddled way.

That same day he also said, “I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs.” Even though Dr. Debra Birx was sitting only feet away from the orange top, she didn’t jump up and scream “No!” because if she did what was right at that moment she would have been fired. That stark reality indicates severe intimidation. Trump merely put another brick in the wall that he constantly builds around himself. Truth is never allowed in.

I’ve encountered thousands of people in my life, and there have been times when I met a rich, self-consumed pompous ass, just like Trump. My mental reaction was, “That guy is just smart enough to be dangerous,” but I always took care not to get on the wrong side of that crazy person lest he bring me bodily harm.

Emperor Donald The Trump

The State of Florida loves the Donald. He moved to Mar-a-Lago for many reasons, not the least of which was avoiding the payment of New York State taxes. Now his strategy is screwing over New York because New York didn’t vote for him. His cloudy thinking even led him to believe he could withhold a COVID vaccine from the Empire State. This inept man believes, exactly like Jeffrey Epstein did, that he can control the locals in West Palm Beach. Well, we saw how that eventually didn’t work out for our buddy Jeffrey.

Sometimes, when I get crazy watching cable TV news, I become a chess player and attempt to figure out my opponent’s next moves. Follow me here. What if Donald Trump just leaves the White House one day and moves into his Florida bunker? He convinces Governor Ron DeSantis and the Republican run Florida legislature to secede from the union. Are you with me? Hey, maybe QAnon will pick this up.

Let’s imagine in detail Trump’s grand plan to make Florida its own country, perhaps renaming it to something that sounds German, like TRUMPLANDIA! Mar-a-Lago becomes the Palace, and Donald declares himself not President, but Emperor of TRUMPLANDIA. Don Jr. is the prince and, of course, Ivanka is the princess. Sorry Melania, you are sent away because you want more money, and Trump separates you from your son because that is what he does.

The new army of TRUMPLANDIA takes an oath of loyalty to Trump and its fighters provide their own pickup trucks, guns, camo and ammo. They don’t need a stupid constitution as they drive through the streets making people take off their masks.

Trump harshly taxes the people and uses the money to build a wall at the GEORGIA – FLORIDA border to keep out those people he doesn’t like. After all, GEORGIA voted against him. He conscribes all the small boats into his “powerful” navy to defend against invaders from the north. He takes control of all utilities, and if anyone prints or says anything against him, he cuts off their air conditioning. He has military parades once a month, and every Sunday the militia sacrifices a democrat on TRUMP TV. That channel broadcasts from a satellite Trump stole from Comcast, another enemy of the people.

He orders sterilization of anyone he deems unworthy. After being banned for life on Twitter, he rails every day on his new social media platform, BoneSpur.com. He conducts an annual TRUMPLANDIA beauty contest in which each of the top five winners get to sleep with him, while the others are given to his sons. He arrests part-time Florida resident Stephen King, and initiates Fire-the-Books-Fridays when printed works he doesn’t like are burned in town squares.

He admits people into “his country” who want to join the TRUMPLANDIA ARMY, and trains them for the ultimate invasion of the USA. While all this sounds like a science fiction story, it could happen. But, my readers, I am a writer and will give you a happy ending. We all want to feel good.

Our story now moves to Fort Bragg, located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Several airborne and special operations units of the United States Army are stationed there: The 82nd Airborne Division, the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) and the Delta Force are controlled by the Joint Special Operations Command, based on Bragg’s Pope Field. The command-in-chief of the US issues an order, and the troops show a fierce force never before seen in American history.

The rebellion in Florida ends in minutes, with few causalities, and the fat, pompous leader is taken into custody. He is tried for treason and sedition, found guilty, and sentenced to life imprisonment in the Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp.

TRUMPLANDIA is closed while Mar-a-Lago is taken over by the federal government and turned into an assisted living facility, which is sort of what it was in the first place. All the king’s horses and all the king’s men are sent to DISNEYWORLD to work as cartoon characters, mostly fucking Goofy.

In the movie Cool Hand Luke, the warden, called Captain (played by Strother Martin), says to Luke, “You run twice, you got yourself two sets. You ain’t gonna need no third set ’cause you’re gonna get your mind right. And I mean RIGHT.” In the movie, a “set” is a measure of how much time one must spend in the “box,” a small confinement structure out in the hot sun. After the Captain says, “…get your mind right” to Luke, played by Paul Newman, he turns to the other prisoners and says, “Take a good look at Luke. Cool Hand Luke?”

To all Trump followers, I now say, “Take a good look at Donnie, Lying Boy Don!” He’s a loser, and just like the confederates you can deny the loss, but that doesn’t make it so. What we have here is failure to communicate. When you are given truth, you don’t believe it and when you are given lies you let them consume you. How many days in the box will it take for you to get your mind right?

DEAD MAN WALKING

Mike Pence’s Political Career is Over

We are all known by the company we keep but, regardless of our self-image, there are times we must deal with our own words, deeds and thoughts. Michael Richard Pence is a lifetime member of the conservative movement. He was born on June 7, 1959 in the town of Columbus, Indiana. He was governor of Indiana from 2013 to 2017, then served six terms in the US House of Representatives from 2001 to 2013.

Pence has often proclaimed, “I’m a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican — in that order.” Funny, there’s no mention of being an American, and that is a huge part of what makes Mike Pence a terrible communicator. He doesn’t speak for all us citizens. He’s more interested in dictating what our values should be. If you want proof, just remember how he ran Indiana.

While he was Governor of the Hoosier State, Pence signed bills that restricted abortions, even if the reason for the procedure was the fetus’s race, gender or disability. This meant termination could not be performed in his state even if a woman’s fetus was suffering from a disease that would bring pain and suffering if brought to term.

When Pence signed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) he was surprised about the blowback from not only liberals, but also from moderate members of his own party, the business community, and LGBT advocates. RFRA provided a legal path of discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and other criteria. After a horrible press conference where he tried to explain himself, he bent to the will of the people and modified the act. By the way, the NFL threatened to pull Indianapolis as the location for a future Superbowl because of the RFRA, and that fact was probably the main driver of the uproar more than women’s rights.

Mike Pence is a homophobe, a xenophobe and perhaps a weekend racist, but he is our Vice President. Mike and his wife, Karen Batten Pence, have a strange fear of Mike being alone with another woman. They suffer from an illusion that all women he’s not married to are out to seduce him. This is a page ripped from the zealous Islamic custom of covering up women to ward off advances from men. In which century are these people living?

Why did Mike Pence team up with Donald Trump? Simple. He wants to become president. Pence thought it would be an easy path to the Oval Office after two terms of Trump, but that plan went horribly wrong. Why did Trump want Pence? Well, Boy Wonder Jared Kushner recommended Pence to secure votes from evangelicals and hard-core conservatives. Yes, that worked, but Pence’s contributions to date have been repeating the lies of his leader, totally screwing up the Coronavirus Task Force and being absolutely ineffective with legislation. Trump relies on Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin to negotiate with Congress more than his Vice President.

There is a giant conflict between Pence’s self-righteous image of a man of God as opposed to the misinformation and fraud he has promoted. If Pence believes lying is not a sin, then what does he truly think? Is it the old maxim that God is using a flawed vehicle — Donald Trump — to do his work here on the Earth? Does Pence imagine he is to facilitate God’s work to end homosexuality, stop abortions and mark those of the devil for the final days? I’m not at all sure about his faith, but his politics are certainly anti-inclusion.

SUPER SPREADER VP

The shit on Mike Pence’s shoes from walking behind Trump has tanked his political career. He’ll need more than Stanley Steemer and a bag full of dung beetles to cleanse his battered soul. Have you noticed that aside from a few hostage tweets he became INVISIBLE after the election? He’s worried about his brand just as much as Javanka (the nickname Steve Bannon uses for Ivanka and Jared Kushner) are concerned about theirs. It’s rumored that the former NYC power couple are trying to convince Daddy to admit he lost. Poor babies. BUT WAIT, this just in, PENCE is going back on the road, why?

Pence has no brand now. The title of this piece might seem a bit harsh, considering its history. Before the 1960s, prison guards would call out “Dead man walking!” as they lead a condemned man down the hallway to his execution. This practice was eventually eliminated, but use of the term has become a euphemism for anyone facing an impending and unavoidable loss. Mike Pence made a bargain with the devil and he lost. One would think a religious man would be more aware of false prophets focused on profits rather than what is good for America.

A man whose value system is based on being a Christian, a conservative and a Republican before being a good public servant, protecting the Constitution and the American people, can never be a good leader in the United States.

My greatest concern is that diabolic Donald Trump will resign from office on January 15, 2021 and newly minted President Pence will pardon Trump and his allies of any wrongdoing while in office. Would Mike Pence sacrifice his future political career for Donald Trump? Pence needs to remember how President Gerald Ford lost all respect after he pardoned former President Richard Nixon. At the end of his term, all Ford and his wife Betty had to show was a substance abuse rehabilitation hospital.

Mike Pence makes personally stupid decisions in the name of his party. As proof that he’s not that bright, recall that he attended COVID super spreader events to please Donald Trump. How could he totally ignore CCD guidelines while heading the virus task force? Is it due to a low I.Q. or just getting caught up in the rapture of the cult?

I have a feeling that Mike Pence will get a slot on the Trump TV network or Fox News to continue spouting the gospel according to Donald Trump. If he had any sense at all, he would run away from Donald Trump as far as possible. He could be called to testify against Trump, and if he lies under oath, he might be awarded an orange jump suit before the Donald gets his. Pence is meat, and not the kind we used to sneak on Fridays. He’s just another broke-dick politician with a phony disc jockey delivery that lacks credibility. Maybe the “My Pillow” guy can hire Pence to pitch a new product line called The Pence Pillow – Truthless Sleep.

As for me, I refuse to sleep! I’m ready to watch the next movie where the fallen devils get their due and Mike Pence openly admits he was wrong. It’s his only road to redemption.

TRUMP PULLS OUT EARLY

Diplomatic Dunce Leads from Behind

I hate war, but as a moderate Democrat I know there are times when the big muscle of the American military must be used to deter the damage that insurgents, religious zealots and despots can wage on the world. As a student of history, I admire the brilliance of President Truman’s Marshall Plan. To recap, Truman saw the cost of war, in both human life and treasure, as unnecessary and curable. The simple act of giving aid in the form of goods and money to unstable areas of the world kept us out of war.

Our extremely transactional President misses the greater point about getting things in return for money. Peace is a moral priority and a monetary win-win. Trump must have missed that lesson in military school. Avoiding a war is sometimes the best a president can do. The Donald wants to pull out of war and military policing in places he decries as “shithole countries.” We give Pakistan a lot of money. According to Vox.com, “…since 2002, the US has given Pakistan over $14 billion in aid to combat terrorism and insurgents in the region. That money is meant to reimburse Pakistan for its ongoing efforts to defeat militant groups, and it forms part of the $33 billion in total help the US has given Pakistan over the same period.”

I would be remiss if I didn’t remind you that Pakistan aided Osama bin Laden for years, until we took him out – and I don’t mean on a date. How much should they get now? That a big question. Our current Commander in Chief thinks that pulling our troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq will please his base, but he offers no reckoning of how this will keep the world safer.

Two Dictators

The Donald tries to con our semi-allies, like Saudi Arabia, to do the dirty work, when they too are probably asking, “Gee, what’s in it for us?” Trump even seemed proud of letting Turkey’s Erdoğan and Russia’s Putin take control of the problems in Syria. Some see removing the USA from all that “Middle East crap” as a good thing. One of the many lessons I learned from reading Ronan Farrow’s book, War on Peace: The End of Diplomacy and the Decline of American Influence was the need for diplomatic solutions in foreign affairs. Trump has zero knowledge and no care to learn anything about how diplomacy works. He appointed homophobic and xenophobic Mike Pompeo to the post of Secretary of State to shield him from troubling facts. TOTAL FAILURE.

The overarching realty of Donald Trump is that he’s a lazy son-of-a-bitch. He has no desire or ability to dig into details and get a full picture. When the Secretary of Defense tries to lay out the pros and cons of a military action, Trump sees it as an affront and fires him. When a top cyber-security head assured America that the national election had no widespread fraud and was, in fact, the safest election ever, Trump dismissed the guy on Twitter. This president is simply unwilling to accept any fact that hasn’t been pre-approved by his little brain or big mouth.

I wish Trump would have pulled out early, but not when it might have put our troops at risk and, equally important, become the motivation for more evil groups like ISIS. After the administration announced the new troop withdrawals, what happened? Well, Al Jazeera was the first to report: “Four rockets have struck inside a heavily fortified area in Baghdad housing foreign embassies including that of the United States, according to the Iraqi military, signaling an apparent end to a temporary halt in attacks by Iran-backed militias targeting Washington’s presence in the country.” You see, actions have consequences, and our soldiers and personnel are now in danger because of the DONALD’S BIG MOUTH.

Adam Kinzinger, Republican

People like Representative, a Republican from Illinois, speak the truth to power and tell it like it is. This guy isn’t a political hack; he’s the real deal. Adam served in the Air Force Special Operations Command, Air Combat Command, Air Mobility Command, and Wisconsin Air National Guard and currently holds a rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In 2019, Kinzinger was deployed to the US/Mexico border to help maintain border security. He’s the person more Republicans should recognize as an expert on matters of military and national security. Rand Paul and Ted Cruz have little to offer in this regard.

The biggest question we currently face is how much further damage will Donald John Trump do to America between now and January 20. If the members of his cabinet and the Republicans in Congress had any balls, they would get with VP Pence and enact the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office and power NOW! But they won’t.

If you wonder why Congress has such a low approval rating, just listen to what Mitch McConnell says. According to a July 2020 Gallup poll, “Congress’ Approval Drops to 18%” Trump hovered around a 40% approval rating, and he lost the election by more than five million votes. Biden achieved, so far, a grand total of 79,513,695 votes, a substantial mandate and the most votes anyone has ever gotten in a US election.

I won’t rub salt in the wounds of our great insulter. Trump now seems to be wearing a thicker layer of makeup. A shrink might suggest that the increased slathering indicates a greater need for ego protection. The makeup is a metaphor for the fake amour of a fallen leader. It’s time for this orange clown to leave the battlefield.

COVID-19 has ruined Trump’s presidency but given all of us vision into his lack of concern for detail, his open, deceitful denials and the way his inept governance has killed Americans. Why is he even in power right now? Yes, I endorse a peaceful transfer of power, but that process must protect us from this lunatic. The leaders in Congress should step up, but they won’t. Selfish bitches.

BLOWN MEDIA COVERAGE

Postmortem of 2020 Election Night

It’s easier to judge an event and the people involved in it once the incident is over and the parties involved have left the room. Looking back at my own life, I realize there have been moments when I acted foolishly on the fly. Maybe a look back at the election just passed will bring a different perspective to this major political event in a unique year that took no prisoners.

Blown Coverage

In football, sportscasters use the term “blown coverage” when a defensive player misses an assignment and allows a large gain by the offense. This usually involves the quarterback throwing a “bomb,” which is an extremely long pass to a receiver running quickly downfield. It’s embarrassing to the defense when it fails, but an exciting play for the offense. The entire world is now waiting for confirmation about who will become the US president for the next four years and we don’t need anyone bombing the coverage.

In the beginning of September, I took the liberty of sending a letter to the presidents or CEOs of all the major American media news outlets to share my “humble” advice with the people who controlled election night coverage. Here is that letter:

Dear News Executive:

You have an election night responsibility beyond your standard operating procedures. Just as you wouldn’t purposely create panic due to misinformation about a virus or natural disaster, you surely don’t want to force a constitutional crisis by announcing incorrect election results. So, what exactly should you do on election night? I have some suggestions.

First, this election will not be a sprint; it will be a marathon. You will want to have a grand conclusion on election night, but that is highly unlikely. All media outlets should agree that none will forecast any state result until the Secretary of State codifies their winners. I know this will take discipline on your part, but should you feel reluctant to slow things down just remember how foolish you looked with the Gore vs. Bush fiasco. You must manage the expectations of all Americans, while ignoring any conspiracy minded elephant in the room.

You might want to consider changing the format of election coverage. Instead of reporters jumping between multiple screens with miniscule bits of data, maybe employ an “appointment viewing” concept such as, 2020 RETURNS, GET AN UPDATE EVERY TWENTY MINUTES. Give us short, factual information packets and tell your audience you’ll stay on the air until all the ballots are counted. Think of the potential of increased viewing during the entire week.

I know you will be tempted to use exit polls to embellish the coverage because the results will be slow in coming, but I urge you not to do that. If you predict an outcome while ballots are still being counted, you will not only play into conspiracy theories that our election is corrupt, fixed or rigged, but you will confuse the voters. Yes, as much as your million-dollar graphics and skillful on-the-fly pundits and experts deserve to be seen and heard, it will be disastrous if you are later accused of lying.

The “red mirage” being talked about is a real possibility. Americans must believe you and trust that the election results you broadcast are real. Your reputations are presently diminished in the beacons-of-truth and accurate information categories. It’s not entirely your fault. As I have said to my neighbors, we won’t agree on talking points, but we must always agree on facts. It’s your job to deliver verified truth in a way that the word “retraction” is never needed.

You can avoid the crossfire if you ignore the temptation to be sucked into the hyperbole and misdirection of being first with the results. Please, think about how to make this a positive, fact-based event, not a mistake.

I don’t claim to be a visionary or media guru, but my soft warning was mostly ignored. There were some who got it, like Fox News’ Chris Wallace reporting on election night that major swings in the results were likely due to shifts in the ballots that were bring counting. Wallace correctly said, “That’s not anybody stealing the election. That’s simply the order in which votes are being counted.”

Not all of our media outlets did that. CNN’s John King and NBC’s Steve Kornacki frantically poked their touch screens, constantly flipping between 2016 stats and the current race with non-stop, incomprehensible babble about the “meaning” of the incomplete tallies. I guess they have only one format, one speed, one protocol for election night, and they weren’t about to modify that for you, the viewer. It’s what they do.

The combination of the media’s sleight of hand and President Donald John Trump’s fake victory speech at two o’clock in the morning made this coverage terrible, by any measure. From the East Room of the White House, the President attacked the legitimate vote counting effort, baselessly calling it “fraud.” Trump eventually claimed he “did win the election,” despite the millions of votes that were not yet counted. Had the media better managed election expectations, the blathering of crazy man Trump would have had a much-reduced effect.

There is no doubt that former Vice President Joe Biden is the president-elect, but that is not stopping Trump from building a mountain of misinformation around himself and the election results. His hardcore sycophants will continue to wave their flags and march in the streets until the dull orange man in the White House admits he’s lost the election and proceeds with the peaceful transfer of power. He must do this.

The TV and news programmers achieved their goal of holding us to their coverage for as long as possible, but at what cost? The cable news channels did an incredibly great job of repulsing people. Saturday morning, I called two good friends about the Biden victory. They didn’t know because they had turned off the electronic hype. Great job, media!

This was an interesting election, the only ever conducted in the midst of a pandemic with a lunatic liar as the incumbent. Hopefully, this environment will not occur for at least another hundred years. Trump will be a distant memory by then, and we will have learned valuable lessons about the deadly combination of an insidious virus and a fatuous fraud in the White House.

STOP MAKING THINGS UP

Trump’s Insidious Truth-Bending

The President of the United States is claiming that foreign nations or domestic bad actors broke into our election systems to change the vote counts against him. Now you might think I am exaggerating this, but here’s a Twitter quote from the man himself: “REPORT: DOMINION DELETED 2.7 MILLION TRUMP VOTES NATIONWIDE. DATA ANALYSIS FINDS 221,000 PENNSYLVANIA VOTES SWITCHED FROM PRESIDENT TRUMP TO BIDEN. 941,000 TRUMP VOTES DELETED. STATES USING DOMINION VOTING SYSTEMS SWITCHED 435,000 VOTES FROM TRUMP TO BIDEN.” Let me add some clarity to his words. Dominion Voting Systems is a corporation that makes and sells electronic voting hardware and software. Dominion is a Canadian company with US Headquarters in Denver. They have strongly and convincingly refuted Trump’s claims.

Internet messaging protocol suggests a person posting in all caps is SCREAMING! So, our crazy, current president is screeching his claims of fraud. His tweet inspired action in the intelligence community and they quickly responded with a news release. The group, including the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Association of State Election Directors, issued what appears to be a definitive coda to the 2020 vote.

“There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised. All of the states with close results in the 2020 presidential race have paper records of each vote, allowing the ability to go back and count each ballot if necessary. This is an added benefit for security and resilience. This process allows for the identification and correction of any mistakes or errors.” Do you know what? I’m going to believe these guys and not the President.

Biggest Crowd, PERIOD!

We are 69 days away from removing this narcissist from the White House. Most believe he will never concede to Biden or admit that he lost. As he has done over the last four years, Donald Trump seems to take joy in making things up, even if they embarrass our country or mislead our allies. Everyone in the world knows this man cannot be trusted, and many of them are lining up to phone Uncle Joe and congratulate him. They know it’s over; why doesn’t Trump?

This just in: the Pennsylvania law firm to bring the suit against the state wanting them not to count any mail-in ballots that arrived late but postmarked before or on Election Day, withdrew from the case. In the motion filed at 11:53 p.m. on Thursday, Porter Wright lawyers Ronald Hicks and Carolyn McGee — who work out of the firm’s Pittsburgh office — said the campaign was “in the process of retaining and causing other counsel” to take over the case. The attorneys said they and the campaign had agreed on the withdrawal, but Hicks and McGee were vague about the reason for their exit. I guess one cannot just make things up in court?

It’s shameful that the US State Department is not forwarding messages they receive addressed to President-Elect Joe Biden. It reminds me of a romantic breakup in high school, where two immature ex-lovers take inappropriate steps when ending their relationship. Yes, Donnie, it’s hard to take but can’t you suck it up? Everyone in the world thinks you’re a cry baby, even the Republicans.

Not letting GSA Administrator Emily W. Murphy execute the transition paperwork to facilitate activities, budgeting, office space and, most importantly, daily national security briefs for Biden is a childish, high school maneuver that will be challenged today by several high-ranking Republicans. The President is more focused on firing people he doesn’t like before Christmas, than fighting the virus or facing the fact that he lost the election! Get over it, Donald!

Truth-bending is just as harmful as lies, and some of his supporters say it’s just Donald’s “cute way.” The truth is, Trump’s main method of operation is always based on made up stuff because he won’t take any time to understand the truth. I’m sure you have known people who grab onto a belief early in life and then make it a focus. A well-respected businessman once told me to never trust a man who smokes a pipe. Okay, lots of smart and worthy men smoked pipes but this guy locked onto that one incorrect belief.

Bad Face Day

I have this thing about Trump’s makeup. A few men in my past wore makeup. One professor I studied under wore a light covering on his face. I always thought he was covering up his closeted homosexuality. I worked in theater and was around a great deal of makeup in those days, but that had a purpose of entertainment. Why is Donald John Trump orange?  Seriously, why? When he holds his hands up near his face you can see the vast difference in hue between his mug and fingers.

The lawsuits and the scam of raising money to help him save America from this “rigged election” precisely align with his usual ways of dealing with life challenges. He never looks in the mirror, takes off his makeup and calls it a day. He is driven to call people late at night to bolster his frail and damaged ego. What is most disturbing is the way his rhetoric and deceit have been adopted by other people in high places. When Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick was confronted with the findings of the Heritage Foundation that no widespread voter fraud was uncovered in America, he bluntly blurted, “They are wrong.” That’s it, Dan? That’s all you have? Where’s your evidence or proof? Remember, the Heritage Foundation is a conservative think-tank that picked all of Trump’s Supreme Court nominations. Just saying something is NOT TRUE doesn’t make it so. It makes the person speaking the words look stupid.

Without facts and evidence, no one should believe anything Trump says. I cannot believe I am saying this about a US President, but it’s true. Trump lies about almost everything. Those times he uses an unrelated fact to “prove” an untruthful statement are nothing more than lies. It’s similar to the way some believe that that saying, “All Lives Matter” defeats the slogan Black Lives Matter, which they fear means “White Lives Don’t Matter.” A bad cop, regardless of race, is a bad cop. I don’t have to add that “not all cops are bad” to soften the danger or reality of bad cops.

The best thing now would be some adult forcing Trump into normal order so our long-standing traditions can move us toward a peaceful transition. I don’t need to see Joe and Don sitting in the Oval Office, awkwardly and uncomfortably posing with each other. I don’t need to see Donnie and Melania standing behind the Chief Justice swearing in Joe Biden in as the 46th President of the United States. Those things would be nice, but realist-me understands they are not likely.

Nothing about Trump is nice. We wish him well, but good riddance! “Don’t let the door hit you where you sit.” Oh, and see you in court, Donald!

RELENTLESSLY HARMFUL DONALD

Trump is Disrespecting Our Fathers & Mothers

I don’t know your age so you may not relate to my young years in a household where the stories of my father’s sacrifice during World War II were notable but not dwelled upon. A giant, 25-volume History of the War encyclopedia sat on a bookshelf. There was a time when we weren’t allowed to go through all of them, but eventually we got to see the pictures of extremely skinny people on the edge of death in the German internment camps. To me, the holocaust was all about those pictures; piles of dead bodies, clothing and shoes. I will never forget the mountain of shoes.

It is abundantly clear that Donald John Trump lost the November 3rd election. Without much surprise, Trump has declined to surrender to reality and reverted to his tired routine of suing his way out of a problem he created. It’s not very brave of him, but he’s never had to fight on a battlefield for the freedom of this nation. That freedom gave his immigrant grandfather a better life and his father a way to exploit the real estate market in New York, which put a million dollars in the Donald’s pocket before he was ten years old. Tax scam? Of course, but still a giant, silver spoon in the small mouth of a large egotist.

Joe Biden is calm with the resistance, and rightly so because he is in a solid place. He’s no longer “Joe Biden his time.” He’s the president elect who will become the 46th president but let me add this sidebar. Republicans be warned, if this situation is not resolved by January 20, 2021, the Chief Justice will be swearing in President Pelosi. Yeah, that’s’ right.

My father was away from his wife and new baby daughter for five years when fighting in Europe. My mother had to take care of everything in those days, and her years of hard work wouldn’t have been disrupted by a “bone spur.” Today is Veterans’ Day and most of us honor those who fought so hard for the United States, while Donald Trump disrespects them with his outrageous claims of election fraud and his inability to admit he’s been dismissed.

Charles Douglas, My Hero

In his total lack of comprehension about how the Supreme Court works, Trump believed that body would come to the rescue and “appoint” him President again. His naïve,  undernourished brain thinks that if he gives something he will automatically get something. I am so freaking tired of this stupid powerplay. I never want to hear the words “base” and “transactional” ever again. It’s damn simple. We have an election, citizens cast ballots, and whoever gets the most electoral votes WINS!

When someone brings a frivolous suit into a court of law, they divert the court and the judge from hearing more important cases. Such disrespect of the system means justice must wait for those sincerely needing judicial help. Any lawyer knows that the legal road begins with a charge, not an argument. A plaintiff must produce evidence that significant harm has been done.

A small, litigious person like Donald Trump believes that any harm to him is grounds for a multi-year battle that will waste money and time. But we have a nation to run and, as they say, “the people have spoken.” Every time I complained about this president over the last four years, I heard that hackneyed phrase “elections have consequences.” Okay, but I want truth and consequences, not lies and deception.

Donald Trump is a lowlife scumbag who believed that if we all rubbed enough xenophobia, racism and populous poppycock on our faces he would be President-for-Life. Well, Donnie, that ain’t going to happen.

The Republican party’s protection of the wealthy donor class is a boat with no engine, no sails, no rudder and no compass to lead them away from Trump. He will eventually cut the line and set them adrift. I keep hearing that Republicans must be careful with Trump because he’s going to be the head of the party when he loses the presidency. REALLY? Why would the Republican party want to be run by a loser? If it were up to me, I would find someone else and get rid of all the TRUMPS and ROMNEYS. The Republican party should do an autopsy to figure out why they lost.

Why are these grifter Congress people afraid of the mad man with the butcher knife running through their pantry? If they were smart, they would push Trump as far away from politics as possible. He’s going to be in court for the next five years and will have no time for silly Republican games.

As I have said from the beginning, Donald Trump is harmful for our country. He’s demonstrating his danger with every tweet and action. When the smoke clears, I am going to write a letter to every Congressperson who supported and enabled this destructive force. I have never wavered. After writing more than one million words about what is wrong with Donald Trump, I want to go on record. Trump is a LOSER!

LOVE TRUMPS HATE

The Emotion of Trust

It’s just a slogan, but I do believe in the healing power of love. Of course, ‘’love’’ is just a word, but it has meaning. At its foundation, love is an intense feeling of deep affection, but it can also denote fondness, tenderness and devotion. In its lightest form, love produces a feeling of great interest and pleasure in someone or something.

These days, the slogan “love trumps hate” has almost become a dirty phrase for some. Once the name-word Trump appears, it’s next to impossible to not think about Donald John Trump. Maybe it’s time to cure the deep-seated prejudices, racism and elitism in America. When I reach out to the “other side” I am often greeted with talking points and pre-conceived notions about how everything was screwed up by Obama and all was fixed by Trump. Enough!

I would love to receive the fifty-thousand dollars I lost due to Trump’s mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic, but deep down inside I would settle for a return to healthy-happy times, even though I am no longer sure when or even if they existed. That aside, today I would like to explain some of the sound, logical reasons why so many people hate Donald Trump in the hope of imparting at least a small understanding to his supporters

Trump said he didn’t trust the FBI and the Justice Department. He told us the investigation into Russian interference by these agencies was a hoax. If I had spent hours and hours of my life following leads, finding perps and then bringing them to justice, only to have the President of the United States pardon them, I’d be pissed.

If I was African American, and Donald Trump kept telling me that the police are always right in using force and that cops should not be careful when pushing a suspect into a police car, why would I respect him? When the Donald says he’s done more for the Black community than any president, short of Abraham Lincoln, he demeans history and the entire African American population. Might I add that Black men voted 6.2 million for Biden and only 1.4 million for Trump? African American women voted 9.8 million for Biden and cast only 870,000 votes for Trump. Clearly, Black voters rejected Trump and his rhetoric.

Women in general rejected Trump, with one source saying 46 million women voted for Biden while only 35.3 million voted for Trump. Clearly, women believe he paid a porn-star and a Playboy Bunny (whatever that is) more than $250,000 for their silence after allegedly having affairs with them. Women don’t like men who cheat on their wives, especially right after the birth of their baby. So, there you have some key reasons why women hate Trump.

Remember Trump repeatedly saying how bad Baltimore and its representatives were? Well, when the vote was counted, Trump lost Maryland. At a campaign rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, Trump said, right out loud, that there is no way he would have come to Erie if it wasn’t because of the virus and his bad polling numbers. Guess what? Conservative, Republican Erie County voted in favor of Biden.

Don’t Mess With the Cheese Steak!

Trump said this about Philadelphia, “As you know today there was a big problem in Philadelphia, they went in to watch. They are called poll watchers. They are very safe, very nice thing. They were thrown out. They weren’t allowed to watch. You know why? Because bad things happen in Philadelphia. Bad things!” I’m a guy from Pittsburgh and I know some things about Philly that Donald Trump will never understand. One is, they never take shit from anyone. Proof? In Philadelphia county (the city) the vote was 81% for Biden and only 18% for Trump. In Montgomery county (the suburbs) the count was 62% for Biden, and 36% for Trump. Trump said bad things about their home, so why would anyone expect Philadelphians to feel warm and fuzzy about him, even in the city of Brotherly Love?

Trump was rude and uncaring about the millions of Californians who were affected by wildfires. While people were losing their homes and dying, Trump was blaming their governor for not cleaning the forest floors. Really? 80% of the lands that were burned and ruined were federal lands. It was TRUMP’S FAULT! Malign and kick a state when they’re down and the citizens will remember. In California, the vote was 64.6% for Biden and 33.3% for Trump. Californians don’t like that man.

I could go on, but you know all the names of the people on Donald’s shit list. It will be fun watching them come back to haunt him. What goes around, comes around. When a judge adjudicates a case, they consider the level of respect shown by the person standing in front of them. A respectful defendant often gets a break. When a judge spends a year on a case and convicts a man for lying to the FBI, that judge will remember and resent a White House pardon of him. Judges don’t easily erase their slates; they are human.

What are we doing? Can we move forward? Love is NOT trumping hate because those who lost the vote are doing everything they can to prevent a return to what the late, great Senator John McCain called “normal order.” Why? Are their party affiliations more important than America itself? It seems so. I don’t hate Mitch McConnell, but I have ZERO respect for him. I don’t need to hate anyone to disagree with them, but if they continually make things worse, they will get added to my shit list. I have no control over whether McConnell stays or goes because I don’t live in Kentucky. I suppose it’s not a bad place with its bluegrass fields and abundance of horses, but really, is that the best the state that gave us Mohammed Ali has to offer?

In the end, and there is always an end, love will trump hate when Trump is gone. He’s a sore loser asshole, with the emphasize on LOSER.

PENETRATING TRUMP’S BRAIN

Who Will Talk Him off the Ledge?

My father’s side of the family came to America in the late 1600s. According to family accounts, they came into James River, Virginia, then traveled up through Dover, Delaware, and finally settled in Lancaster, Pennsylvania around 1720. Most of these ancestors’ offspring were farmers, and it took them about a hundred years to spread across the state to Western Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh.

At this writing, we have just received the projected vote count in my home state. As much as this process has created tensions, nervousness and even anger with many citizens, we are finally have a conclusion to this drama. We dealt with the recovery of a damaged democracy after the Civil War, and we can’t even agree on what would have made that work better.

Trump and real president

While I was clicking on my keyboard earlier, an ABC News story came across. “This week, judges in Nevada, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Michigan have rejected the [Trump] campaign’s efforts to halt the counting process, if only temporarily, or alter it in some way based on shaky allegations of improper or nefarious conduct.” The best line in the story relates to U.S. District Judge Paul Diamond. “He appeared startled when the lawyers then acknowledged that the observers had, in fact, been permitted within 15 feet of the poll workers.” Diamond cracked, “I’m sorry, then what’s your problem?” Diamonds don’t usually crack.

Just about all Democratic internet posters have the same question. Who should be the one who will tell Trump his show has been cancelled? It won’t be his Chief of Staff; Mark Meadows just came down with COVID. Might it be Lindsey Graham, Trump’s golfing buddy? How about Mitch McConnell, leader of the Senate?  Who will have their “Barry Goldwater” moment with the Donald? You might recall that it was Senator Goldwater who dropped the reality bomb of removal on Nixon and convinced him if he didn’t resign he would be impeached and removed from office.

Maybe it will be Ivanka, Melania and Jared Kushner, coming into the Oval Office to smooth talk their way through his swollen ego to get him to admit it’s over? Nah, that won’t happen. I don’t mean to sound demeaning, but Donald’s current wife is loyal to her marriage. She’s merely an actress brought out like a trophy to speak the lines written for her. It will also not be Ivanka and Jared. They are both greedy bastards succeeded because they have the same moral-less values of winning no matter what. They have the most to lose from Trump’s removal from office. They will be continuously testifying to committees and courts for the next five years of their lives.

This brings us to the only thing that motivates Trump, money. Perhaps fellow rich powerbroker, Rupert Murdoch might be able to get through to Donald Trump. In case you don’t know, Murdoch is worth $16 billion and was originally from Australia. He owns tons of newspapers and media companies around the world, including Fox News and the Wall Street Journal. Trump knows Murdoch and he always takes his call. Why would Murdoch do this?

Rupert Murdoch

I may be sounding a bit diabolic, but Murdoch’s Fox News empire will benefit if Trump loses and goes away mad. For the next four years Murdoch’s network would be able to exploit those sore losers and loners who love the Donald. If Trump stays in office, by hook or crook, Murdoch will have to make his network more responsible and accurate and that would be bad for ratings.

What could Rupert possibly say to Donald that would inspire him to maturely deal with the loss of the presidency but still have something to look forward to? Well, what if he were to offer him a daily show on Fox News? Trump’s ego and narcissism are his central drivers, and he would revel having a daily show where he could bark out his dogma to the world. This would also be a huge win for Fox News because a Trump show will guarantee big ratings and tons of advertising bucks. What could this new job be worth to Trump? I say he might become desperate for a platform should Twitter take down his personal account when Trump leaves office. He has used that as a mouthpiece for his administration and I don’t think it would be appropriate for that account to persist.

I know it seems ludicrous that a former president would make that kind of move but look at what George H.W. Bush did after being a one-term president. He joined the Carlyle Group and exploited his fame for millions of dollars in Arab oil interests. Even one of the Bin Ladens were on his board. After his one-term wonder presidency, Jimmy Carter helped build homes for those unable to afford housing in America. Big difference.

Trump will have many coming after him after January 29, 2021, and it won’t solely be about job offers. The Southern District of New York has some legal matters on its desk. Maybe a new administration will reinstate Geoffrey Berman as the US Attorney in the Southern District so he can complete his work there. There are many other cases and issues that need to be resolved in courts. Trump could do his daily show from the veranda of Mar-A-Lago, sipping diet Cokes and making fun of the people in charge, just as he does now.

Only time will tell, but from my vantage point I see lots of work that must be done. For example, President Trump has signed, 193 Executive Orders since January 2017. Many of them are toothless commentary, rather than substantial policies. Some of them, when challenged in the court, were found to be border line unconstitutional. Others are extremely damaging and must be eradicated ASAP. The most important next step is to replace all the horribly damaged or totally unqualified people Trump has installed in powerful positions. At the top of my list are the Attorney General, the Postmaster General, administrators in EPA, DHS and the entire Trump cabinet. Then there’s Homeland Security and its 240,000 employees who are in desperate need of real leadership!

Rupert are you listening? Remember that Civil War and bodily removal of a president are bad for business. And might I say that Donald John Trump doesn’t want the lasting-forever Wikipedia page showing him being escorted out of the White House. While that would be grossly embarrassing for him, it would be much more so for all of AMERICA.

BELIEVING YOUR OWN EYES

Win or Lose, Trump Has No Mandate

After going in and out of consciousness and drifting between dreams and data from the latest vote count on election night, I was more zombie than human the next day. The biggest flaw in my personal slaw was that I had booked an 8:45 doctor’s appointment that morning. Not a good idea.

I took a brief nap on Wednesday afternoon and awoke to my phone buzzing out some breaking news. The headline was unbelievable, with words to the effect that the President of the United States is suing the state of Michigan and demanding they STOP COUNTING BALLOTS! What? Why would he do that? How could he do that? Do he and his cronies think that ballots are being airlifted from Russia or China just to make him look bad, or is it simply the absentee and mail-in ballots were finally being counted and his chances were diminishing? Yes, and Yes.

Crazy Trump

Even in those states where Donald John Trump won, the margins are not great. As of this writing, in Georgia, Trump received 2,432,097 votes to Joe Biden’s 2,413,999. That’s not a blow-out win. What this election clearly shows is the country is divided and both sides are firmly planted in their opposing values and needs. Here on the west coast of Florida, the enthusiasm of Trump voters was extreme. I watched them drive around all day in pickup trucks bespeckled with Trump flags and stickers. There was also a strong showing for Joe Biden, although less obnoxious and more hopeful.

The daily crap that Trump shovels out to the American people has created an incalcitrant attitude in Republicans that lacks logic, common sense or a desire for truth. Those folks believe most of what Trump says. Intelligent people on both sides wondered if the final count of mail-in votes would ever see the light of day. Workers in the United States Postal Service blew the whistle on Lewis DeJoy’s plan to sabotage mail delivery right before the election, and there was merit to their paranoia. Trump and his donor criminals are doing whatever they can to keep their piece of the rich guy pie, while hurting the country they claim to love. DeJoy, like Trump and his cadre of lawyers, are corrupt partisans, spellbound in their rapture of greed. Those baby Trumps will one day face the music.

America’s election administrators and workers are good, dedicated human beings. With all the observers and poll watchers, it would be almost impossible for any person or group to cook the election results. We are all at the mercy of computers, servers and the cloud these days, but with control in the hands of local people who must face their neighbors and fellow citizens, the price of deception is great. Besides, who would want to be jailed for tainting election results?

I am hopeful that this experience will trigger a reform to our election process. We must have more consistency. Trump complained ad nauseum that we should all know who won on election day. That’s a precious thought, my loudmouth pumpkin, but when a state has a law stating mail-in ballots cannot be processed until election day, your desires are not their commands. The President of the United States should know that he has NO control over how elections are administered. That’s a good thing. It’s not like cheating at golf. Elections are administered by each state and adjudicated by local judges.

Despite the local orientation, a good idea for the near future might be a national convention of Secretary of States and Election organizers to codify how all states handle elections. America is drifting further away from the arcane ways of our Founding Fathers. They might have known about abortions, but they certainly didn’t know Roe or Wade. We need more consistency in our federal elections with similar and effective security, protocols, timing and techniques across states. I was amazed to learn that in Florida millions of dollars were NOT spent on election security because one man said, “Hey, we don’t need that.” Really? When is not spending money on security a good idea?

Donald Trump’s presidency taught us some lessons about America. First, he showed us that if the press gives a candidate and then President, billions of dollars of free airtime, it’s on us to keep them in check. They think their job is to investigate allegations of corruption, but at times they simply publicize the bad actions of one man. Why? It took four years to learn about the guy in office, and now you need to look in the mirror. Common people cannot comprehend malicious behavior, and you need to say more other than “look at this with your own eyes.” You need more fact finding with investigative journalism and less fluff. There are so many commercials in ABC World News Tonight that most stories get only one or two sentences. Dumb.

If Trump cheats and steals his way into another four years he will be hated by as many people as he is now. He’s a dangerous loser-liar whose words and actions have hurt people and probably killed more than 100,000 of us. He has no more of a mandate to run our country than Alex Trebek, and he’s a Canadian.

I am most proud of the way our courts and judges have handled Trump so far, and I hope they never stop being objective, no matter who might be president. There is something magical in the words, “…with liberty and justice for all.” I want everyone in America to understand that “…for all,” means everyone, all of us, not just Trump lovers.
