DISRUPTION COMBUSTION

The Unpeaceful Transfer of Power

There is some wisdom in the structure of the United States government. Having three branches gives some feeling of checks and balances, but we are entering the twilight zone with the current executive branch.

The interview with the new Communications Chief, Anthony Scaramucci, that appeared today (7-27-2017) in The New Yorker magazine bared the visceral and raw nature of the people President Trump chooses to advise him. The little white lie that Trump hires only the best people was torn down in one fell swoop with Slick Anthony’s trashing of the Trump team.

The airing of dirty laundry in public is one thing, but the use of locker room terminologies to decry the chief of staff and the senior advisor seemed far beneath what we expect from our White House. If the First Lady calls it “boy talk” I will probably just throw up. Remember, she was the one who said her pet cause would be cyber-bullying. The whole family from son-in-law to daughter to daddy all seem to be the greatest cons and hypocrites of the century.

Such harassment of a fellow employee would never be allowed in business. Remember, Trump said he would use his successful businessman skills to fix the country while it appears that he cannot tie his shoes.

Scaramucci’s vulgar public flogging of Priebus and Bannon, two people I have no respect for, was childish, disturbing and disruptive. If you don’t like them, fire them. But here is the question, beyond the Bannon self-pleasuring and dime-store psychological analysis of Reince Priebus, Scaramucci has done nothing but make the situation worse. He’s another egomaniacal rich white guy who thinks he can fix things, just like his boss.

The reason Anthony got the job is because he was able to hit back against CNN and get two reporters fired. What the Donald doesn’t understand is that Scaramucci was in the private sector when he went after CNN.  Now he is part of the administration and the rules have changed. Every move he makes will be put under the microscope and the freedom of information act will not work in his favor. We do have the 1st amendment when it comes to covering the White House. And maybe it’s time to remind King Donald that, (a.) he’s not a nice guy and, (b.) he actually works for the taxpayers of this great land.

If I hear one more self-anointed ass wipe say that he “serves at the pleasure of the President” I am going throw a sledgehammer through the TV screen. You serve the American public. You are nothing but a government employee. And if Anthony Scaramucci used that language on the floor of the Congress, he would be disciplined and censured. And Trump won’t restrain Scaramucci, because he thinks this is funny and entertaining.

If Trump cares so much about ratings, he should look at his own ratings. With only 36% approval, his TV show would have been canceled.

The lack of clarity with this administration is due to the shoddy communication and the distractions that Trump himself drops into the punch bowl. We knew that he would be different, he reminds us every day that he is neither a statesman nor a smart politician. He shows us with his actions that he is an amateur at governance and not qualified to be the leader of the free world.

Bringing Scaramucci into the White House will prove to be a colossal error. His words and deeds so far remind me of the old business guy who used to say, “I’m going to fire one person every day until morale improves around this place.” It doesn’t really work and, in the end, finding the leaks will not be as important as finding out ‘why’ people are leaking.

Just to get this on the record, White House Communications chief Anthony Scaramucci said (Reince) “Priebus is a fucking paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac.” He also laid into the President’s adviser Steve Bannon with, “I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock. I’m not trying to build my own brand off the fucking strength of the President. I’m here to serve the country.” So, there you have it folks. We’ve entrusted our government and military to these people. Really? Thanks to The New Yorker magazine for their brilliant UNFAKE NEWS.

If I said those things about my co-workers with that language, I would have been hauled into H.R. Does the White House even have a Human Resources office? Any of us using such uncouth and reprehensible language would have received a memo urging enrollment in anger management classes with a copy of that memo placed in their personnel folder.

These people are nothing more than bush league bureaucrats. That is what happens when you elect the wrong person for the wrong reason. Time will tell, as the Donald said about Jeff Sessions, is what most thoughtful citizens of this country are saying is true. Time will tell how long it will take for people in America to wake up and realize they made a drastic mistake.

Steve, Stephen & Agent Orange

The Brains Behind the Curtain

We now know the source of poison that leaks out of the windows and the doors of the White House. Every president has had people who whisper into their ear. Some objective observers have said that these aids are not just advisors, but they actually control the leader of the free world.

George W. Bush had Dick Cheney, who like his father, had roots and connections in the C.I.A. There are those who say that Cheney misled and manipulated the younger President Bush and gave him justification to re-enter Iraq and finish the job that his father failed to accomplish.

Richard Nixon had John Ehrlichman and H. R. Haldeman, who historians believed were pulling the strings of the soon-to-be broken president during the Watergate scandal. Haldeman was an experienced advertising man who used his talents to sell Nixon to the American public. Ehrlichman was an attorney who believed the President had unlimited powers and could not be held accountable for dirty deeds.

Trump has Steve Bannon and Stephen Miller pulling strings and writing up executive orders based on their ideology and political beliefs. It is quite obvious that their efforts were never filtered or tested through any analysis of who this is good for and will this hurt anyone? They simply don’t care about people; they care about creating a world they believe is right.

While Stephen Miller read his answers to the questions from all the Sunday morning talk shows, one could feel the defensiveness and witness the deflection laced vitriol. The non-fact of voter fraud was repeated, covering the fib of the older brother President showed that he too, has bought into the lie, or did he create the lie?

Mr. Miller’s pronouncement that Federal judges didn’t have the authority to stop the President’s travel ban was nothing more than an attempt to argue his position on the media, that same media they claim is so dishonest and terrible. Judges judge, presidents lead.

Mr. Miller and Mr. Bannon should remember that both Haldeman and Ehrlichman were convicted of conspiracy, obstruction of justice and perjury and both served time in prison. Steve and Stephen should focus on the phrase “obstruction of justice” as they carry on the business of President Trump.

The key to keeping America safe from terrorism starts with keeping America safe from tyranny. Let Democracy win first and the rest will be fine. Who is the puppet and who are the puppeteers?  Time will tell whether the pitch-man is reading a well-prepared script, or is true to his convictions.
